  1. We have a Maverick (non-Tremor, wanted more towing capacity) on order for my wife. Hopefully we don’t have to wait as long as I did for my Mach-E!
  2. A fixed top Bronco makes much more sense for the US.
  3. Didn’t DHL just place an order for etransits too? I like the look of the brightdrops. Would make a cool RV.
  4. Wish they’d have published the list. As an owner of a Ford EV it’d be nice to know if I can continue my relationship with my dealer (whom I’ve bought my last four cars from, have one on order from, and have used for service for more than a decade). I’m sure I could reach out to my salesman, but most don’t have that kind of relationship.
  5. You’re doing it wrong. (I hope Superformance eventually releases their GR1)
  6. Haven’t seen a Brightdrop yet. Have been curious if they’d strike a deal with an RV manufacturer. Would make a cool rv.
  7. We’ve had the Rivian vans by us for months now. They look sharp.
  8. I figured it was a similar decision to not using the Rivian platform.
  9. Toyota has tried. They have a BEV that stumbled out the gate (wheels fell off). The Lexus version has been advertised a lot lately.
  10. This post is not about the Maverick, and there are no $35k Lightnings.
  11. Yeah, it’s an odd change for the Lightning. AM is a challenge for EVs. A lot of manufacturers dropped it for this reason. My Mach-E did ok, but depending on the station could pick up interference from the motors. My Lightning has outstanding AM reception. I’d say better than my ICE vehicles, with absolutely no interference. With Ford explanation as to why they hold onto the whip antenna (rural) it seems odd to lose AM on the Lightning as rural customers are more likely to miss it/not be able to supplement with streaming.
  12. The weird thing is it’s just the Pro that went up in price, and it’s sold out for the 23 model year.
  13. I could not be happier with my Lightning for towing. I tow our Scout Trailer, a 6,000lb dual axle cargo trailer. The truck is a towing beast, the weight of the truck plus 700flb of instant torque meant I barely felt the trailer behind me. Sure, it cut my range in half, but it’s more than enough range for my needs. The only thing I can’t do is tow to summer camp, but I’m happy to leave that to someone else anyway.
  14. Teslas do not come with CCS adapters. They only recently started selling them in the US. People had been importing them from Asia, which is also CCS1, for a year or so. The vast majority of EVs do not use plug and charge. When not using my Ford account (which does plug and charge) EA could not care less if I’m in my Lightning, my old Mach-E, a Taycan, or an EV6. The payment process is the same. (EA account using either the app or tap to start the device). I can do plug and charge if I use my Ford account, but it is not at the discounted EA membership rate. EvGo has just started doing plug and charge - I haven’t tried it yet, but probably will, as I don’t get a discount with them anyway. I believe the rest of the networks have proprietary payment methods that are also vehicle agnostic.
  15. These exist now. Virtually all BEV/PHEV can use the same L2 connector. There are three standards in the US for fast charging, CHAdeMO, CCS, and Tesla. CHAdeMO is deadman walking. Even Nissan, who holds the patents for it, has abandoned it. Electrify America has a CHAdeMO handle at most of their locations (the rest being CCS). Tesla has said they will eventually add CCS. EvGo already has chargers that support all three. The “OMG Different Standards” BS is really just FUD spread by people who don’t know the first thing about EVs.
  16. The Model S is practically a modern panther, though the CV seemed to be updated more often.
  17. Why not both? The government is investigating significantly in EV charging infrastructure. Do you not qualify for the new EV credit because your income is too high?
  18. Did the factory have capacity? Does the cancellation open up additional capacity for BS and Maverick, or is lack of capacity part of the reason for the cancellation? I’ve seen two commercial Mavericks this week that probably would have been TCs previously.
  19. Yesterday I traded my Mach-E for a Lightning. Love it so far.
  20. I’m not sure if it’s changed, but previously the PHEV explorer was only available overseas.
  21. Looks like Tremor orders open in September. https://www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2022/08/01/ford-maverick-tremor-pickup-off-road-capability/10184581002/
