  1. Wasn’t there an article recently that stated exactly that? It’s an issue with range in rural applications.
  2. It’s up to a balmy 37 here today, but was zero yesterday. At some point I don’t think it matters how much colder it gets.
  3. I haven’t been driving as much due to WFH but the Guess-o-Meter being off by almost 50%. It’s rated at 270. Over summer I was over 300 miles on a full charge. Today it’s reporting 163.
  4. Lightning goes up quick. I was going to get an XLT but it jumps to $70k with the LR battery and lacks a lot of the features I’ve become accustomed to in my Mach-E. Based on winter performance of my Mach there’s no way I’d get the smaller battery on one of these.
  5. Disappointed XLT lacks Bluecruise and PAAK, and jumps into the 70s for the ER model. I wouldn’t mind the price so much if it didn’t mean giving up features from my Mach-E.
  6. On the contrary the keypad enables phone as key. If your phone dies/breaks/Paak just doesn’t work you can still get home. I haven’t used my key fob since the first week I had my car, but have had to use the code when PAAK wasn’t working (including once when fords servers were down). I also use the Kay pads on all three of my fords frequently when I don’t have my phone on me, for instance when grabbing something out of one of the cars on the driveway.
  7. Kind of surprised they don’t come out swinging with BEV Tahoe/Suburban first.
  8. None, except for pretty much everyone else. https://www.hotcars.com/car-companies-no-longer-investing-in-ice/amp/
  9. Where does CAMI get batteries from for the Brightdrop vans? Surprised CAMI doesn’t have a retail BEV.
  10. I reserved my Mach-E in November 2019. Ordered it in June 2020, received it June 2021. They did not discuss monthly payment, nor run my credit, until the day I picked it up. Unless your MB GLE 450 is used, I don’t believe you bought from a Ford dealer.
  11. The finance office doesn’t get involved until the day you purchase the vehicle, not reserve, not order.
  12. Assuming the buyer writes a letter though, right? How many are willing to do that? Especially when it wasn’t a happy reason (illness, loss of job, lack of credit, etc)
  13. I know I could have had my Mach-E two months earlier, as a dealer in Indiana had my exact order on the lot. I didn’t, and I’m glad, as my dealer is awesome, but it really seems unfair that doing so would reflect badly on them. My salesman was nearly as excited for me to take delivery of my Mach-E as I was.
  14. If Ford spun off a brand, or brands, would they be able to renegotiate with dealers? For example was RAM a whole new dealer agreement? Imagine if they were able to say “Oh, you want to still sell F-Series? Then you need to…”
  15. I’m wondering if MEB went the way of the Rivian platform (at least for NA).
  16. DRL make this bad too. I see people driving without lights every day on my commute. I didn’t assign it to rental. I never take my lights off auto, but I’ve had others turn it off, usually the dealer for service, or valet. I now know to check, but I’ve usually assumed it was something like that. We almost need taillight DRLs. Or mandated auto lights when in motion.
  17. Every time I take out our Edge at night now I am shocked by just how bad the headlights are. I never realized until I got the Mach-E, which are the best of any car I’ve owned. My Flex is between the two. Ford could definitely do better at headlights, and I’m glad it’s started being included in evaluations.
  18. It’s much worse. There are reports of dealers auctioning off their priority orders on lightnings.
  19. Oh no! Not an LS in someone’s old junker Ford!! That cost the zeros of new car sales!!!
  20. I don’t know if you have heard, but there is a chip shortage. Vehicles are hard to come by as a result. Ford and the Mach-E is not the only vehicle experiencing markups. Try getting a Bronco, or a Telluride, or any number of other vehicles. Tesla is not immune to ADM, they just call it a price increase. https://electrek.co/2021/11/12/tesla-increases-model-y-prices-again-new-incentives-coming/amp/
