  1. As far as I know, all of the grills will fit any model (04 and up). They may look different though. If your truck is already black no problem. The trim going around the grill is the only thing that may look different. Around the Harley it's black. On the FX4's it's color keyed to the truck, Lariat is Chrome. So yes it will bolt up, it's up to you to make it look good :D
  2. yup, 3:30 start now. At least I can get to sleep before 4 a.m. now
  3. sorry, they keep everthing locked up tight when it comes to Harley parts LOL. You can buy the grill from a dealership( for only $160 , but I'm sure the price will go up) The only Harley specific part I put on is the lugnuts, And you can get them at a parts store for about $1 each( my guess?).
  4. IMHO, Wixom should be flex, three different platforms out of one system. With the right products they could easily do 250k+ units a year. The body shop is the only area I would not consider flex. Also IMO, Flex means you can switch to produce more of a product if demand goes up. Consider this, if DTP, MTP and NAP are flex we should all be able to produce something else than truck's or SUV's, yet we each produce only what we have been building. Why give NAP or MTP down time when they can produce something else. Where is the"FLEX". A flex system only works when used properly. I just do not see that at all right now. You have to give the flex plants more product so they can be flex, the only problem is some other plant will have to lose it's product to the flex plant to make it happen. DTP is flex, but we only build F-150's(I don't consider the Mark or Harley different truck's because they are not). If it has a frame and fits within our wheelbase we can make it. I have heard rumors of F-250 production coming in from Mexico, but I think Kentucky can handle that. I have also heard rumors of ranger production, but where does that leave twin cities? So non-flex plants are going to lose out to flex plants, sounds to me that Ford had in mind to start closing plants when they came up with the idea of going flex. o.k....done with my ramble :D
  5. Sorry not mine, just an avatar. I wanted something that said Dearborn Truck, my last avatar was the Mark LT. Sorry about the confusion. But yes it is a picture of the 06 Harley F-150. If you right click on my avatar you should get an option to print or copy if you want a better look at it.
  6. <---------like the one in my avatar?
  7. My father still works at Wixom and according to him the LAST LS body was made in the body shop right before Christmas break. So it should be produced the last week of January(Wixom is off till the 23rd). A car that died before it's time because Ford did not know what to do with it. If I was not a truck guy, I probable would have gotten an LS.
  8. The only difference between the 06 and 06.5 is some new options. 6.5' bed now available on crew cab flex fuel 5.4L now available
  9. Not a problem, I always keep my ears open for "realistic" rumors. I don't bother with the stuff I know is false.
  10. Well rumors are floating around, but I have not heard any about a diesel F-150. I do agree though, a diesel would give Ford one up on the competition.I just got a letter from the plant saying how they were proud of how far we have come in less than two years, but that we "need to aggressively go after Toyota, Nissan, GM and any other auto company in our market." So Ford is taking the others seriously and that may include a diesel(hope).
  11. Go figure. At DTP (part of 600) they held the vote in the main hallway. 90% of the plant goes through there to leave or come in. 90 voted for, 1047 voted NO! We accounted for about half of the no votes in local 600. Either the other plants in the Rouge had some fudging of numbers or they were dumb enough to vote yes.
  12. optional, just like you get a choice of 5.5' or 6.5' in the s.cab or 6.5' or 8' in the regular cab.
  13. http://employees.ford.com//index.cfm it should take you to a log in site which is shared with the a,x & z plan. just log in (or register) and it will take you to the employee network.
  14. Dearborn has been non smoking since the county wide law started early this year.
  15. next thing you know the president will order the building of millions of robots(in China) that will turn on humans and drive us off the planet
  16. Dearborn truck 90-yes 1047-NO
  17. not that it matters, but Dearborn truck vote was......90-yes 1047-no
  18. Well as a former wixom person I understand how you feel. my advice is to just ignore everyone. It will be hard but it's better than not having a job. i run into the same kind of deadbeats myself. Now I just go to work, put on my headphones and drown out all the crying. Don't stoop to thier level, you sound like you are are better than that. Maybe try transferring to another zone? Myself, I hold to the belief that I AM better than them and still hold pride in the job I do and no deadbeat slacker will take that away from me. Best wishes and I hope you have a Merry Christmas and happy new year.
  19. I'm guessing it was mostley people laid off from wixom during the shift reduction in 02. I know a handfull of people that went down to NAP. I'm not sure but I think it was 100 or more that ended up going. I was supposed to go, but I ended up at Dearborn.
  20. No news from Dearborn Truck yet. The union actually did something right and the vote was held in the main hallway which is the only way in or out for 90% of the people, so there was no excuse not to vote. Most people I talked with voted NO. We should know by today. Unlike some other ass on this post, I voted NO! I'm not willing to stick a knife in the backs of all the retired folk, who struggled to get the rights we have, just so I can have it a little better.
  21. no,no,no,no, it was my uncles, girlfriends, brothers, roomates, fathers, nephews, cousins, best friends,sisters,ex-husbands,ex-wifes,friends,cleaning lady. She once cleaned Bill's house two years ago, so she has to be right!
  22. I have to agree with Richard, most of the ads are from local dealers. I know Ford has gotten more into movie ads. Product placement. They have movies and t.v. shows place thier cars/trucks into the show. I like the idea because most people pay no attention to commercials(except during the super bowl). You see the car or truck being used, maybe you like the looks and go test drive one.
  23. well said and to the point. i hear the same kind of b.s. from family members who work at other plants. I hear shit about other plants from different people. To me...in one ear out the other. I will believe what I hear in January. Hell someone just yesterday told me..."Yeah, NAP is done, they already sold the land to the government". I listened to what he said and replyed.."wow, who filled your head full of shit". I really don't think any of the F plants are going to close, but thats because I work at one. No one is safe if you think about it, so I try not to. Hope for the best, prepare for the worst. Best of luck to all of us.
  24. I understand that, my question was how come it's 150" not 151". all the other wheelbases are 6" apart.
