  1. Hi Butchy, www.etis.ford.com shows that your truck was built on 16 MAY. Now the hard part, waiting to be delivered. On my last truck, there was flooding in the Midwest and it took longer than usual. March 14 build to April 5 delivery (Kansas City to Savannah). Edit - I didn't know you were planning on taking over duties in this forum. If that is not the case then kindly leave it to me and stay out of chatting in someone else's tracking threads. It is a rule of this forum BTW.
  2. Hi Cyberdman, I hope things are going well for you this week so far. I am requesting info on 1FTFW1EG5GKE90664. Thanks in advance!
  3. Inquiring if 1FT8W4DT9DEB16836 has left the plant? Thanks!
  4. That's 160 miles (2.5 hours) drive distance away. My original ETA was 1 Apr, so I am thinking it may arrive at dealer later today or tomorrow. Won't be long now! Thanks so much for the updates! I feel like a new father waiting on a new child.
  5. Hi Cyberdman! Hoping you've had a good week. Can you please update me on 1FTFW1ET1DKE54284 ? It's going to be long week until delivery... Thanks!
  6. Can you please update me on 1FTFW1ET1DKE54284 ? Thanks so much!
  7. Hi! Was wondering if you can provide me an update on vin 1FTFW1ET1DKE54284. Was supposed to have been built yesterday. Thank You!
  8. Congrats on your new Fusion! The oil quality is not the issue on "break-in", it is minute aluminum particles. I was used to small aluminum engines settling in and leaving sparklies in the oil so when I bought my Fusion in 2005, I decided to drop the oil after a 1000 miles to see if the same thing happened in new auto engines. Well I wasn't very surprised to find very small particles in the drained oil. This to me was cheap insurance ($19 at the time) to preserve the engine I planned on keeping a long time. I have used the Motorcraft Syn blend & FL-820S filter the life of the car at 5000 miles intervals. Now with 107,000 miles and still running like new, I am glad I changed the oil. I am waiting on my F150 now and will do the same thing at a 1000 miles.
  9. I think the King Ranch is the only one that comes standard with two tone. It was a $470 option when I did an on-line build for a Lariat. I think dealers just order them that way automatically. BTW, I'm with you, didn't want two tone either. Try this for an order guide (found on another forum), there may be better out there. http://www.sunrisefordfleet.com/order_guides.htm
  10. Does anyone know what the Job 2 Build date might be and what proposed changes might be made? I will be ordering a '250 in late summer timeframe and would like a job 2 truck. Thanks!
  11. Is it easy to modify (i.e. add the jumper)? Does the jumper install in the upfitter switch assy?
  12. Hi group. I will just add my opinion here on the Fusion. When I first seen pics of it in October, I thought it looked a strange, odd or in sixcav terms, ugly. A week later I went by the dealership and they hay had 2 on the lot. The photos didn't do it justice. It didn't look that bad. They had a red and tungsten gray. Well long story short, I placed an order for a Dark Pearl Blue 2 days later. I think the big grill & oval looks better on the blue than some of the other colors. As for the headlights, it's nice not have the same old- same old. My wife (primary driver of the Fusion) has had 2 Camrys & she loves the looks of the front end. She squealed like a little girl (she is in late 40's) when the salesman called us to pick it up. There was no reaction like that when buying the Camrys. Just buying transportation, that's all. The old adage comes to mind here, "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.". We (she) didn't consider the 500 as it "looked to plain". With a little styling rework, I think they will sell to a younger crowd. Most 500/Montego drivers I have seen appear to be late 50's/60's.
  13. Actually, Bush Sr started the talks, but Bill Clinton signed the agreement in 1993 to into effect 1994. Someone mentioned a quality issue. My company (a gobal telecommunications player) used to have a plant in mexico making some of our phones and cords. They have since sold off that plant and shifted production to China. The mexican products were a better quality and had significant less failure rates than the chinese crap we sell now. The point is, Yes I would have preferred the Fusion being made in the US but since that's not happening, I would rather it be made in Hermosillo than by Ford Motor (China) Ltd.
  14. I agree that Kzinti provides a great service to us, the buying public. The powers that be would probably write him up for improper use of company resources. I too work for a global corporation and see writing on the wall that corporate greed is running the business into the ground. The people I almost feel sorry for is the first level supervisors. With no union protection, they are among the first to be cut out of bonuses and out of a job. Sorry, rant stops here.
