  1. Yesterday was the third day this winter we had winter storm warnings and iced up roads in Houston. I realize it's nothing compared to other parts of the country but it's very unusual here to have it happen that much in a single winter. Personally, I'm ready for warmer weather.
  2. You're the first one I've met! Seriously though, I respectfully disagree on the subject.
  3. Data from early 2013? Really? Current polls (CNN in December 2013, AP in September 2013) show support for more gun control legislation is at an all time low. I don't know any gun owner that support the first two and I believe I'm in much better tune with the gun community than you are. The guns rights organizations are doing what gun owners want done.
  4. That might be a problem except that what gun owners and gun corporations want are the same thing.
  5. He has a PhD in Ecology and has been a leader in the green movement for a very long time. His "opinion" has credibility and carries weight. I have decided this will be my last post in this thread. My stance on this subject and the basis for it have been repeated many times. I don't feel the need to continue doing it.
  6. Because you're wrong. Climate change scientists were baffled the models were so off. That tells me it wasn't within expected ranges. That's just spin to save face that they were so incredibly wrong.
  7. Uh yeah. Keep drinking the Kool-aid there buddy....
  8. Why do you keep ignoring that IPCC admitted the models are flawed?
  9. Patrick Moore, the co-founder of Greenpeace, testified in front of a Senate committee Tuesday that there is no scientific evidence of man-made global warming. LINK
  10. Umm incorrect models indicate they don't fully understand what they're modeling. They even admit that in the last IPCC report. Therefore I don't accept their conclusion as bring 95% sure. Does that mean I will never accept it? No. I just haven't seen anything yet that has convinced me.
  11. Uh, the last IPCC report actually states they were wrong since they didn't account for all variables. Other than what you posted here, I don't know anything about Spencer.
  12. Well, 73 out of 73 computer models failed to accurately predict the climate change as espoused by the IPCC. I call that 100%. I never said don't try. I said don't make sweeping policy changes based on data from obviously faulty climate models. The IPCC needs to step back, reevaluate their modeling procedures and try again. Also, the highlighted section is exactly what I've been saying all along here. It's massively complex and I believe still not completely understood.
  13. Doesn't matter. Either way it indicates they are flawed and should not be used to formulate sweeping policies.
  14. I would say that nearly 100% of what the models predicted has not happened pretty much indicates they are inaccurate. Even the latest IPCC report states that the models didn't account for all climate variability.
  15. I don't. I fully support conservation (like I have mentioned before, I am a champion of reducing paper usage in the corporation for which I work). What I don't support is the crisis mentality some have that we have to do spend billions right now to address a problem that science doesn't even fully understand yet. I don't think that is an unreasonable position.
  16. Logic dictates that you can't successfully solve a complex problem until it is fully understood. To do otherwise you run the risk of doing the wrong thing or even worse, exacerbating the problem. But hey, let's just go full steam ahead and throw logic to the wind. It's how your ilk operates, right?
  17. I didn't say anything about climate change stopping either.
  18. That's more proof that scientists still don't fully understand the climate. It's complete stupidity to make dramatic policy decisions based on unclear science.
  19. No, but you still have to "substantiate your identity" to fly. What's really the difference?
  20. NAACP requires PHOTO ID to march in protest against requiring voter PHOTO ID You just can't make this stuff up!
  21. That's more acceptable but why should I float them while they do that? And real nice with the name calling.
  22. As someone who has been gainfully employed since age 16 and worked my ass off to be in the position I'm in now, it pisses me off that in the later years of my hard earned career, I'm subsidizing someone not working and pursuing their "dreams" (which I assume will be mostly sitting on their asses and watching the Kardashian train wreck).
  23. That's not how you build a prospering society. It's a downward spiral. Just look at Spain and Greece for examples.
