  1. Will never work. Life insurance only pays out when you die. Thats why they can pay out dividend checks. Just another way to keep you investing in them. Medical insurance pays out way more relative to whats taken in. They are always in demand therefore do not need a scam to keep you as a customer.
  2. Never should have bought it in the first place. Update: Now Ford claims they never said that.
  3. How was Dresden efficient? 2000 bombers? Hiroshima was efficient. Now you want to cut farm subsidies? Maybe we should all start living in communes.
  4. I said the President because he can suggest legislation to Congress and sign bills into law after they have ratified by both houses. Come on didn't you ever watch School House Rock?
  5. Pay your taxes. Congress and President can always close any tax loop hole and make it retroactive. Use the law to get out of your responsibilities and they will use the law against you. Guess who's side the American people are going to be on.
  6. No they are not capped. The bill never made it out of the senate the 4 times the Republicans tried. Where are you getting your information from?
  7. I think we need to regulate malpractice. The highest award ever given in Canada is $10 million. The US legal system regularly gives out awards $10 million or higher. The highest US award is $140 million. We are forcing doctors to practice defensive medicine. They must order every test in the book just to cover themselves.
  8. I was not trying to insult you. Sorry, that was never my intention. My wife got her CDL (which I paid 5k for) so I know how much shit went she had to do. Getting a CDL is a major accomplishment. An even bigger accomplishment is keeping it. You know what I mean. Many out there can't even run a cash registrar. For some, getting out of bed is a major accomplishment. You laugh. After years in the system, some people can't do that on a regular schedule.
  9. Thats what's not going to happen. The same people pushing for universal coverage are the same people that will never cut women and children off welfare. Many capable of working don't get any assistance anyway. You got a CDL. Congratulations. It took more than government money. It took relatively clean criminal history, clean urinalysis, at least a 10th grade education and effort on your part. You'd be surprised at how many people can't do any of that.
  10. Workfare? If people don't want to work, they are not going to work. They will come up with more excuses than you can shake a stick at. You see it everyday at any factory. Everyone knows someone who's milked the system. They're people that who have perfected the art of malingering. They won't work construction, agriculture, fast food, retail, or any other low wage job. We already have people picking up trash and cutting the grass. They are called municipals workers making as much money as you are. The premise of universal health care is that health care is a right. Now you can't take it away from them just because they are lazy or have no marketable skills. Don't forget drug and alcohol abuse are diseases too.
  11. Canadian pay 50% more in taxes than US citizens. They have the highest tax rate in the world. Thats right their burden is greater than France, UK, Japan, Germany, Italy by at least 25%. I don't even think they can deduct mortgage interest. This is the problem with nationalized health care. There is absolutely no way to prevent freeloading. They are some people addicted to our medical system. I don't know if its the promise of free drugs, or the fact someone has to legally feel sorry for them. I know way to many people that fit into this category. They are willing to sit in ER for hours waiting for care. Some really need it and some really don't. Hospitals are not legally allowed to discriminate so we all suffer. We have a market based system. You get what you pay for. Sounds cruel but its what most Americans want. You'd be surprised at how much people that don't pay for health care use the system. Canada is manageable because they are 1/9th the size. They will see increasing care issues as their population grows.
  12. Does anyone have the answer? Come on. I thought this site was full of know-it-alls. Normally when you leave a company you are required to roll 401K monies into another 401k, and IRA, or cash it out. You can't roll over monies that are tide up in a loan. Can you cash the loan part only? How do you pay the early withdrawal penalties and taxes?
  13. I thought you have to repay the loan immediately or you are required to cash out.
  14. Be careful. Some insurance plans do not cover nurse practitioners for all treatments. The plan may cover the nurse and it may cover the condition. It may not cover the combination of the two. I found out the expensive way.
  15. No. I believe its a tax. Depending on your income is how much you pay. We currently have a fixed rate depending on your plan. Maybe it was $3k per year. Tring posted his figure a while a go so I may have it wrong. How do you pay now? Are you willing to take that amount in a pay cut?
