  1. 370,285 344,038 8% 2012 2011 DTP, excludes the few LTs built there.
  2. For the person wondering about the trucks going in there in a few years... Currently at Blue Diamond they build about 165 or so a week... about 6700 a year.
  3. At 6 months, Ford has moved ahead of GM for the #1 producer in NA. They've beat GM a few times on a month to month basis, but this is the first time in many years (one of our reporters thought it that in the 1930's was the last time Ford out produced GM in NA) that it has happened.
  4. Do they start the first week back or later in the month.. that would give the fellow a good base on when he'd get his TC.... even ordering it.
  5. 34,397 ... think that's shipped. Don't think they built that many in October.
  6. 7. On BON every year they used to post the Job 1 dates... I couldn't find it for the 08s... does it exist? If so could someone post the link. Thanx
  8. ooh pretty. Like the 2 door. Although I wouldn't buy it, hate the foil trim tail-lights.... I'm 44 and it just makes the Fusion look cheap (MHO).... But I loved my old Torino, my first new car was a 88 Bird... I saved up for that one and drove it for 13 yrs before I gave her up (and it lived another 3 yrs before I lost track of it). I'd love a large 2 dr car. I don't have people in the back seat often, and like the C pillar (is that the one behind the driver) being far back out of the line of my sight while driving. Wouldn't mind a 4 dr, if they got rid of that pillar somehow. It's those big windows. This isn't a Ford thing but love the heads up display I have on my 2001 Grand Prix .... 2 dr of course. Looks like everyone's getting rid of the big 2 drs ... you'd think there'd be enough of a niche group.
  9. I agree. I had an 88 'bird that I adored. It was my first brand new car and I drove it until my mechanic said "And you are getting a new car soon".... That was in 2001. The car lasted at least another two or three years and I lost track of it. I had a digital spedometer... too cool. My dad's Town Car didn't have that. A great speaker system. It was a great car. I have a Grand Prix now... mainly because Ford doesn't have a midsized two door (but those are harder to get). The one thing I love on the Grand Prix is the Head's Up display.... I don't care what I have next time, as long as it has that. I love that. Never have to look down at gauges.... Ford please build the Thunderbird again, but the larger version... like they made at Lorain.
  10. I know 4 people that lived at home (or moved back) but all have older parents so that was part of it. I've never left home. 10-15 yrs ago I thought it weird, until all my friends started moving back in because they couldn't afford it on their own, or parents got up there in years. Now it seems more common place. For me, I keep my mom company (even though my dad's alive he tends to sleep a bunch) and she keeps me company. I pay rent each month. I think it's fine as long as you pay some sort or rent or split the bills. But everyone I know is older, in their 30's-40's. My brother lived at home until his mid-30's... then my grandparents sold him their home. I thinks it's fine, especially if the parents are older. Mine, thank God, are in great health, but other friends, they helped with that too.
  11. First... sorry if this is posted elsewhere. Came across it on the web and it had a start date. Don't know if that's good one. Plus wanted to be part of this humungous (sp?) thread: The Dow Jones newswires reports that Ford's new crossover vehicle, loosely based on the Fairlane concept from the 2005 Detroit show, will be shown in production-ready form at next month's New York auto show. The Flex, Dow Jones says, is a larger crossover that Ford will use to effectively replace its minivans. The new vehicle will be built inOakville, Ontario, and will enter production on Sept. 15. The company will build 100,000 Flexes each year. The Flex program, codenamed D471 inside Ford, has been one of the projects green-lighted as Ford reshuffles its product lineup, axing old vehicles and those in segments where Ford fell far behind in the 1990s. Ford's last minivan, the Freestar/Monterey, is exiting production this year. The Flex will features doors that open like French doors, the Dow Jones reports, and will sport three rows of seats. A Lincoln version is expected, but not for public launch in New York. :happy feet:
  12. In Southgate (Wayne County, Michigan) you can get some nice houses for under $100,000. Before the guy next door started repairing the house his last tenants trashed he wanted $80,000 for it. There's townhouses and condos in the area for about $100,000. Lincoln Park's not too that bad. Anyways the area that I have friends living in (and what I drive through each morning). Don't know about the schools.
  13. Edited the post and the whole article's there now. Sorry about the first one.
  14. Here's another story about the delay ... sorry about the one that had the link. Parts problems contribute to Edge delay Amy Wilson Automotive News | 1:00 am, November 20, 2006 DETROIT -- Quality problems with parts have contributed to the delay in launching the 2007 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX crossovers. The parts problems, along with glitches in the manufacturing process at Ford Motor Co.'s assembly plant in Oakville, Ontario, will keep the vehicles out of showrooms a few weeks longer than planned. Ford Motor Co. said last week it would delay shipping the two crossovers to dealerships until December. They should be available for sale by midmonth, a spokesman said. Company officials previously said the Edge and MKX would be on sale in mid- to late November. The Oakville plant continues to assemble the vehicles. But Ford manufacturing boss Joe Hinrichs acknowledged last week that the automaker has been unable to satisfy its own standards, and that's slowing production. "The manufacturing process and the supply base aren't to the level of consistency and stability we'd like to see," said Hinrichs, vice president of North American manufacturing. In some cases, Ford has had trouble getting a steady flow of parts from suppliers. The company requires five days of "clean" assembly before authorizing vehicles for release, and that hasn't happened yet, another Ford source said. Each problem resets the clock. A Nov. 10 company memo pinpoints five parts problems that caused lost production. The problems listed are fuel-filler neck quality, hydrobush leak, quarter-trim warp, Lincoln THX audio speaker pop and all-wheel-drive rear-bearing noise. Those problems were resolved quickly, said a company source, who described the memo as a "snapshot" in time. Ford also has experienced problems with the vehicles' backlight, two sources said. Ford has dealer orders for more than 30,000 Edges and MKXs. As of Nov. 10, Ford had built around 4,500 vehicles, instead of the 5,214 vehicles planned at that point, according to the company memo. Is the 4,500 mentioned are both Edges and MKXs or just Edges?
  15. I live probably 10 miles north of Flat Rock in Southgate. Some nice houses there. Don't know what the schools are like anymore... The house next to me is being totally refurbished so they can sell it. By the time the fellow's finished, it'll have new siding, windows, paint, and maybe a garage. It's not on the market yet, last time I heard the fellow wanted 80g for it but..... I'm about 8 miles from AAP and maybe 10 from DTP. WAP isn't too far either, maybe 20-30 miles.
