  1. this is just a reaction to the mandated pay increase to $20 an hour....
  2. Ill never forget the backlash from Enviromentalists regarding the Excursions "size"...somehow the Suburban got a hall pass.....
  3. truly want to see some track times of this vehcile to see if it lives up to Farleys chest bumping...
  4. valid point, and perhaps Im somewhat bias after experiencing how Corporate has a tendency to treat their Dealer base...but keep in mind the ever decreasing profit margins on Fords mainstream products...ie Mavericks fro example...and then VOILA, a car arrives the dealer can finally make some serious profit on and they get kneecapped....this is the very reason Addendums came about, Dealerships are a business , and NOT exactly the most proftable ones at that, somewhat forced upon them by Corporate, and quite honestly I dont think Corporate cares about that much, they are just a usefull entity to assist push their product, and more importantly act as a buffer between Consumers and them when theres issues. If there WAS an acceptable ( again this may be my own bias shining through ) profit margin in vehicles ( say 10 - 20 % between invoice and MSRP ) then perhaps this addendum issue wouldnt raise its head so much. Ive just read Ford is about to flood dealers with F150s and Rangers to help meet THEIR goals. Rememeber Ford makes their $ full stop at the wholesale level, but flooding the market ?..going to be interesting....read Dealers having to whore inventory out OR deal with large flooring overheads...
  5. come to So Cal and drive for a few....I TRY to set my cruise ( adaptive ) at 72- 73...and seriously surprized I dont have neck issues with eth Bronco hitting brakes, speeding up , slowing down, speeding up...its insane...I have the distance set atwhat leaves about 5 car lengths between me and the car in front...apparently thats just an invitation...I would guess 90% of the accidents here are rear enders due to tailgating....ridiculous...and watch....Im going to say with a few years part of the collision control on cars will be a minimum distance control based on speed....
  6. grey area....there were some Dealers, not sure how, that recieved GTs under the same "invitation" only premise ( false name maybe, maybe buyer fell through, I have no idea ) that had showroom cars already registered ( no miles, same as a lot of Ferrari dealers were doing ) that were being sold for HUGE $$$...where theres a will theres a way as its said...15k on a car like the GTD....pffffffffffft......Ford obviously, by charging what they are for the GTD, think the car is pretty special ( and I think it is ) but not special enough to compensate the dealers what I would consider an appropriate amount for the "privilidge"...and then they get pissed at Dealers adding addendums ( and to this day I think that may be potentially be the core reason for the HUGE price increases across the entire lineup over the last couple of years ) ..vicious circle....and I can semi understand it from both sides...
  7. talk about a car with presence...15k?....wild guess...there WILL be addendums if 15k is what Ford thinks is adequatre compoensation for basically a 300k investment...I would presume the Dealer has to floor the vehicle as well, that would eat up at 15k in no time...Ford pulled the same shennagins with the GT, althoiugh if I remember correctly on the $250k the delivery fee was 3k per unit, but the Dealer had to pay for a GT exclusive service bay, I think dust free was a requirement...( seem to recall that cost was 75 -80k )
  8. ok..heres one...we are now required to get a form signed either opting in or out getting their Catalysts etched with an identification number...Not kidding...now apparently Dealerships are an arm of Insurance agencies...I do wonder what happens if someones etched Cat gets stolen...what then, theDealership has to employ and investigation commitee???? California 101, the ONLY state that wiull tax you if you leave....
  9. how about banning of Plastic straws...now you get a cardboard straw...WRAPPED in plastic.....??????????????
  10. this GT was sold , to a 21 year old kid at approx 5.30 pm, gave him the keys, put my hand on his shoulder and told him to be careful, that thecar has just under 500 horse and can be scary in naive hands....this was less than 5 hours later...BEFORE the rains....
  11. lol...keeping the battery and recycling it is like demoing a $450000 condo and keeping just the refrigerator...
  12. yep...demand for sedans dwindled some time ago, heck I remember reading even the Accord sales were struggling...obviously lack of sedans is a shame for some people, but Manufacturers have to go where th $ and demand are....
  13. its about risk factor and potential losses...on a purchase the Buyer takes it inthe shorts if resale sucks...on a Lease if Ford sets a residual of say 35k after 3 yerars and the resale number when the car is returned at lease end is 25k, thats a net loss no matter how you look at it...Ford owns the car on a lease, THEY take the risk...which, as stated takes the Consumer out of the fledging resale market regarding BEVs.
  14. tell that to the people 25k in the hole after 3 years of ownership.....the buying public doesnt care how it effects the OEM in the slightest....
  15. issue with Ford if everyone leases, THEY are on the hook for potential lease end losses....whichbased on BEV resales, and technology gains year over year...is an extremely scary prospect..
  16. ?$18500?...mis-print?...Ive seen $8500...not another 10k on top of that....regardless...as Ivestated...they need a $399 lease add....WITHOUT a huge cap reduction....
  17. if and when they come on line..if ,as they have, been sitting back observinbg progress and otrher manufacturers, I for one would be EXTREMELY hesitant...batteries will most likely make a huge difference...but righgt now????...hold my beer...
  18. personally liked the Sports Trac...but we couldnt give them away for whatever reason ....and they were relatively expensive IIRC
  19. heres the kicker....they havent produced anything barring ONE vehicle yet , and not gung ho by any account...so, by my books thats a potential loss savings of approx 30k per unit....at least right now. If I was them Id definitely be apprehensive...and I think the very reason they DID invest in that plant was pressure from Stockholders no? ( correct me if Im wrong ) ....the stockholders most likely read all the hype as well and bought into it....thank GOD Ford still has their ICE vehcles as a foundation....
  20. extremely tough call from a manufacturers standpoint...damned if you do damned if you dont...ay least initially I think there was fear of basically becoming redundant if you didnt jump on the Bandwagon....Im sure theres a LOT now questioning venturing down the BEV road...at least initially. I remember theflak Toyota received for not embracing BEV as much as people believed they should....sure looks like a wize move now for being somewhat conservative/ wary.....
  21. never bought into that from day one...now Rivian is apparently on the brink....the whole BEV movement was too much too soon IMO.
