Slate Auto Raises $650M as $25K Electric Pickup Nears Launch
Deanh replied to rmc523's topic in E.V. Central
nope..you still have to go to the Dealer too finalize...its just a shopping tool...the car is NOT delivered to your doorstep by Amazon. es, you can order cars through Amazon via Amazon Autos, which allows you to browse, compare, and initiate the purchase or lease of new and used vehicles from local dealerships. The process involves selecting a car online, arranging financing, and picking up the vehicle at a local dealership, with transparent, haggle-free pricing....just another buying service of which there are many..COSCO for instance. If its delivered to your house, its NOT by AMAAZON, it would be by a Dealership employee or a licensed and Insured delivery service....and that would be AFTER all the paperwork is signed, we literally do that now. -

I truly doubt youll EVER be able to order and get delivery of an Automobile through Amazon...imagine the returns...oh, and the porch Pirates...then theres DMV and original signatures required on specific paperwork... -
agreed...but they also , UNLIKE the F150, narrowed the range un-necessarily so IMO. The Supercab GONE...no regular cab either...again IMO they should have a base single cab with an HD payload package, and deleting the supercab with a sub 30k MSRP was , at least to me a glaring mistake, ranks right up there with deleing the 8 ft Supercab HD on the F150...we used to sell a bunch, primariliy to Commercial users, you could put in a cross bed tool box and STILL have 6 1/2 feet of bed. Corporate could probably justify the deletions with pie graphs, I just know what we get requests for, and our Ranger sales specifically, dropped significantly after the omissions.

and thats bit them in the ass post Covid....look what happened to bronco Raptors and Expeditions for example...the higher the MSRP the smaller the market. I agree, Ford sat back and watched the addendums and looked in the mirror thinking they werent charging enough for their cars....now the market has basically returned to normality and the higher MSRPs killed sales...so they dropped them 10 -12k. Heck the Darkhorse is overpriced...to the extent theres a 3k rebate on a supposed limited edition.... the SC may be different as its likely the supply will be severely constrained...but $170k???? and regardless...there will STILL be ADMs....( and sincerely, there will probably be less than 8k markup in the car...THATS part of the reason Dealers put addendums on them ) I dont condone ADMs but I fully understand why some Dealers utilize them...

Ive got three.. a Bronco Sport, 2 dr Badlands and a Raptor, all have the B& O upgrade...the sub is horrible in all three and the systems all are missing clarity/ top end...that said Im an audio snob...Working on the two door as we speak, Focal speakers and a JL sub ...hopefully that will make me quit my whinging...subs in as are the rollbar speakers...lot better...kick panels and dash next...just hope its not all spoiled by the B & O equalization....and hate to say this, but the speakers removed were horribly cheap... ( as stated...SNOB )

Ford absolutely blew the Ranger...it went from two body styles and two bed lengths and a base of 28k to One body style, a small bed only , too much content and expensive ( Starting at 35k )....good truck but when I drive into a clients lot and see a lineup of Nissans and ask why...the answers were pretty glaring....its also dating pretty quickly...

called it from the get go and copped flak for it...they went all in on EV ( including battery factories ) and shot themselves in the foot...cost them a LOT of money, GOVT pressure didnt help in the slightest either...you get into bed with the Devil youll have consequences, not sure the figure is accurate, but rumor was Ford was losing 50k on each Mach E...again, sounds incredibly inflated, but losing copious amounts on moola on specific vehicles just to appease, is not a good business decision...Toyota played it a LOT better, and maybe the best in the Automobile kingdom, but I think Fords learnt a valuable lesson, licked their wounds and will respond well...fingers crossed.

KIA and Hyundai have , IMO the least cohesive styling on the road today...completely obsessed with how crazy they can make their head and tail lights adn they dont fit in with their body styles...just horrible...all about the lights... -
