  1. Thanks for the response. I agree with you about how the laws are unfair, and outdated. For that reason I chose to make my decision to take the education buyout before looking into to what the consequences would be for my support amount. I based my choice on what I believe was a moral decision. My children will still have good insurance, they will still get a decent amount of money from the stipend alone, etc.. And their father(me) will have a College education; that in itself should reflect a positive influence when their time comes to make a decision for further education. I am going to try and ask the mothers of my daughters if we could agree on a lower modification of support to take to the Mediators at the court. If we cant agree I will still try to ask the court to re-evaluate my support. If I am unable to get the amount changed; I will still be paying half my stipend to them, and if I pick up any part time job I'm sure they will receive half of that also. The difference will just go into arrears as I see it.
  2. Hello, To anyone taking an education buyout and whom will be attending College full time. How can we plan to continue paying the same amount for support, or should we get it reduced? I have 2 separate cases of support. I would like to fully dedicate myself to my studies when I start College this fall. ( I think child support will take 65% of my stipend which I'm still waiting for) The amount I receive from my stipend even IF I take a part time job I will not be able to keep up with the amount I am currently suppose to pay for support.
  3. Nope, still glad I took the buyout though. I left ford Dec. 1st On Tuesday I talked to someone in dearborn over the phone and he would look into it. I called him back thursday, He said that payroll has no record of a check being issued for me. He said he put in a request for them to process it. He did say that the system showed that I did signed up for the 4 year education buyout I think I cought him off guard when I told him I still haven't received a welcome pack yet. I guess i will not be able to take classes till fall semister
  4. -Haven't received my stipend check yet, I applied for the 4 year EDOPP. On Tuesday 1-23 I did receive my W-2’s for my pay and sub-pay. My last day worked was Nov. 27th, the following week I went to security to pick up my last check, and was also given my December eligibility vacation/personal unused time check. I was surprised to receive that since I quit on the last day of the buyout option. When I quit, I was told that I shouldn’t expect to receive my stipend or welcome packet until sometime after the middle of January. I was prepared to not hear anything until mid January-Feb. I started coming to these forums on Tuesday to see if anyone started to receive their checks, I seen a couple posts of people who have, so I decided to give labor relations a call to see if they had my check/welcome package. I just checked the myuawford.com website and it does show that I have Available funds of $15,000 for tuition and $485 for books. I have tried to call labor at 467-0560 a few times the last couple days only to have nobody answer. p.s. I do pay child support, so I'm thinking that maybee this will cause a delay.

We have A rich and diverse culture whom thrives on all things related to daytime talkshows and the media. Our recorded history can be found as it happens in The Enquirer. Hope this helps you in your choice to move to Michigan. :happy feet:
  7. I went to Labor relations on Wednesday to inquire about Quitting and still being able to take the education buyout. I turned in My 4 year education application to labor 2 weeks ago, and mailed the other paper to dearborn saturday. I was told that if you were to quit during the shift, you would have to complete the shift and not leave early. She suggested comming in Monday before the start of the shift and going to the general stores to get a clearance printout saying that i Owe nothing, then go back to Labor to quit. I asked"since the education buyout offers insurance, will i be without insurance until the buyout kicks in.. she said "No, you will have no lapse of your insurance" by quitting before the buyout application deadline, you are saying that you are taking the buyout. I think Im goin into work early monday to start my buyout then... Take this Job and Shove it but thanks for the education
