  1. Nice, it still shows it today as well. According to the Order Guide (last update I have seen is 1/3/22) Adaptive Steering is code 17A and is a Free Standing Option on both 600A and 6001A KR's. It's my understanding that the Order Guide is always more accurate than the Build & Price tool.
  2. Patsmac, I've never seen where Adaptive Steering is included as standard equipment on a KR. Can you point us to where? And I guess I'm confused because you said it was listed as standard, then you felt the need to later add it to your order? I also ordered a KR on 2/15/22, mine is a 600A. I noticed that it was a Job # 2 order, and there were two new options that I had to decide that weren't yet on Ford's online pricing tool: Adaptive Steering and Auto Stop/Start Delete. There was also a $1500 base price increase when it was all said and done. My guess is that Job # 1 orders were closed by 2/15, so you have a Job # 2 order like me, and yes you'll be paying the $1500 base price increase and if you've added the option for Adaptive Steering you'll be paying for that too.
  3. Amazing stuff as always, Ice. I wish I lived closer to you to give you my business!
  4. Awesome info as always, Ice. The obligatory "Please post the 2016 Order Guide" is all I can say . THANKS!
  5. Getting ready to order another F-150 soon. Does anyone know when the Job 1 Date is, or at least when the order bank opens for MY 2016? Besides the towing aid (which I don't desire) I'm hoping to see the My Ford Touch replacement make it to 2016. Any other changes?
  6. Mine had the same problem. Tell the tech to check misfires. I had to replace a spark plug and coil on one of the cylanders. Not cheap, but fixed the shudder.
  7. Mine has this problem, although I haven't experienced the truck going into limp mode. Its a slight shutter/hesitation going up a hill in 6th gear with the throttle half open. I had the same problem with my Explorer but that was a worse problem and it was a spark plug misfire. I'm going to set it up with my dealer soon, and hope it's fixed!
  8. I used to install those rust modules a looong time ago. That's your culprit, no doubt.
  9. 2011 F-150's with Tough Bed were not sourced from Dearborn, however my 2012 was- FYI.
  10. Some good points, though it's unfair to just lump all installation shops of hacking in turds with scothlocks. There are some really good shops out there, and I'd be willing to bet you'd be really surprised to learn how many dealers sub that work out to the local shops... I haven't researched the newest dealer-installed units. Up until even a few years ago, and maybe still, they were just like any after-market unit in which they had to be spliced in. They were manufactured by Code Alarm, and Ford dealer techs even had their own password to log on to pull pdf's of wire diagrams for each vehicle.
  11. Back in the day I installed many DEI (Viper/Hornet) and Presitge (Audiovox) units. I 'retired' from 12 volt about the time Compustar really came on. They are supposed to be pretty good though.
  12. Any decent mobile audio/video/alarm store should be able to install a remote start on your truck. To get past the Securilock, you can either have a third key cut and programmed at the dealership (then the key is installed under the dash and activates only when the remote start calls for it) or there are newer bypass kits that tie into the TX and RX wires at the OBDII port. As with all aftermarket remote starts, what ever settings are on the heater when the engine is turned off will come back on when remote started. If the rear defrost doesn't automatically activate upon remote start, a good installer will be able to add a relay to make it work or add it to an output on another button of the remote start. If any of this isn't making sense, go to your local mobile store if you trust them.
  13. Mine ordered 3/29/12 Delivered to delaership 5/21/12 Waiting to be picked up in about 20 days! (Supercab Ecoboost FX4)
  14. Fair enough, it just started to sound like a commercial lol. This truck is leased for my personal use from my company, and since I'm not a contractor, most of the time it'll be hauling air. About every weekend it'll see use though. After the lease term, I plan on buying it personally for a weekend warrior. I guess I'll have to see how it holds up to moderate use. If it flakes, chips, whatever, I'll report back!
  15. In my area, the prices are not close. And like 1depd said, I'd have to fight traffic and waste a day to get it done. I'd rather burn a vacation day using my truck. By the way, do you work for Line X?
