  1. Clean one owner Hyundai for sale. I wonder if it was a rental!
  2. My point in posting that, wasn’t so much that Tesla has a UIA problem, it was more the reason of when you get big enough the complaints come. Tesla thinks the media follows Tesla fires now. Get millions of cars on the road and see what happens.
  3. Wow tons of information. I have to give you credit for doing the homework. To answer your question, phasers use oil pressure but the pressure is controlled by solenoids. It will run without the solenoids connected. I’ll be interested in hearing how this turns out.
  4. I would highly doubt the 04 pcm will communicate with the tcm. It would not know it’s supposed to. That’s why a phaser delete program on the 05 pcm would make the most sense. You could use original pcm and harness. But still that’s a lot of unknowns. Another option would have a custom tune made for it by a tuner. I’ll have to look up the compression ratios of each engine. I don’t know the specs on the two heads off hand. Thats a pretty ambitious task with a lot of things that may or may not work. Contact a tune shop about the pcm issues first.
  5. I have never Tried to mismatch a 5.4 3v to a 5.4 4v. I have no idea If it’s even possible. I would suspect the pcm in the 2005 will be looking for cam phasers, and solenoids, which will not longer be there. The 2004 pcm will be looking for EGR and solenoid and probably won’t know what to do with the 6 speed trans. I’m trying to remember if the ZF had a TCM that is to communicate with the pcm. My opinion is that you are about to do a ton of work and not have a good result. You might be able to use 2004 heads and 2005 everything else, plus buy a phaser delete program and eliminate the phasers out of the pcm. However, would it not just be easier to do new phasers and tensioners? If the cam bearings aren’t scored then that’s the way to go.
  6. I believe that year navigator only has rear air suspension. However, if it’s riding really low or really high in the back, that could cause a terrible ride. Does the vehicle sit level?
  7. Does the trans fluid level go down when you start the engine. With the engine off the trans fluid is higher. Start the engine and the fluid level should be Lower because the pump is pumping the fluid. If the fluid doesn’t change then I suspect the torque converter splines are stripped and it’s not turning the pump resulting in no line pressure. It’s a known issue but was more an issue on windstar vans but would happen on Tauruses also.
  8. https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2020/01/17/business/tesla-unintended-acceleration/index.html Welcome to the big leagues Elon. More people driving your vehicles, means more problems.
  9. I wouldn’t be too worried about long term. Most issues will show early during warranty period. Now being inconvenienced having to keep taking it back for repair, may be another story. If it takes a long time for the problems to show up, say 70k miles, fixes won’t be introduced in production for a year or so. Meaning Buying a job 1 or Job 2 production vehicle won’t make a difference.
  10. The blazer digital cluster was fairly rare. Most where that awful blue disc style.

    5.0 "tick"

I have a 2013 work truck that has 223k miles on a 5.0 with the idle tick. Only notice it in bank drive thru. It’s the original engine.
  12. I personally never cared for KIA vehicles. They never appealed to me. However, they obviously are doing something right. To me Kia is like a spec built house. It has pretty flooring and counter tops, but the windows are vinyl and basic materials behind drywall. The spec home ideology is make it pretty maybe they won’t notice. Ford has been guilty of this too.
  13. I have a hard time believing that a FWD biased suv doesn’t plow in hard cornering. I haven’t looked at all the skid pad results from all reviews. But some have said the explorer rides and handles well. It’s actually a positive. It’s about universal that the interior needs better materials.
  14. I wonder since Ford was trying to separate the aviator from the explorer, Instead of using MacPherson strut design, the SLA suspension of the aviator should have went into the explorer also.
  15. Which I think is interesting. Hotels are completely the opposite. If the building doesn’t meet the requirements they won’t renew the franchise. Since Lincoln actually has some good stuff now and coming, it’s a shame they can’t be more stringent on the customer experience.
  16. I know Lincoln would definitely want stand alone dealers. However, as we all know, there was not enough Good products that could sustain a luxury dealership alone. Hopefully the tides have turned and they can do so in the coming future. Such a huge investment, the dealer needs highly profitable sales to make it. Hard to do with old discounted models. I think we are finally seeing some effort worthy from Lincoln. IMO Lexus did it right. However, that required tons of money from Toyota to make it happen. I believe it paid off for them.
  17. What I find interesting is that not that long ago all we heard was the explorer going to FWD. Which makes it less capable and it’s cheaper to manufacture, yada yada. Ford moves the explorer back to a RWD set up with a better platform, I’m sure is more expensive, and doesn’t get recognized for it. Instead it gets beat up for price and so so interiors on low level models. Evidently the FWD vs RWD isn’t as important as it was. KIA on the other hand, makes two SUVs with less complicated platforms and drivetrains in an easier package, throws extra goodies to divert your attention and puts a good price on it, and gets a pass to the point it can be cross shopped for luxury vehicles. I’m sure Kia did a great job hitting the target it intended. However, I will not be convinced it’s better than an aviator and should be crossed shopped. So we have a FWD NA v-6 with 8 speed trans against a RWD 400hp v6 10 speed with SLA suspension, optional air suspension, PHEV option and the lesser prevailed because it was cheaper, more visible bang for the buck. BMW, MB, Audi, they don’t want the word value associated with their vehicles. Value is associated with cheap. I’m sure Lincoln wants the same. Every article googled with Telluride says value! Also, interestingly enough the unimpressive 291hp gets a pass. Obviously it’s your money and your opinion. By what you will but just because it’s cheaper doesn’t mean it’s better.
  18. Just like a doctor, get a second opinion. Or if you don’t want to do that, have them show you in a like vehicle it’s the same.
  19. It amazes me how people can twist things around in order to blame someone else. From what I read, their is no evidence the extender even failed or if it would have made a difference in the accident. Only questionable thing I see for Ford, is that they were supplying an abnormal amount of extenders to one dealer. Since they don’t cost the dealer anything, I would suspect Ford would want to know why they are Ordering so many. Probably in Ford’s eyes, these things don’t make any money why investigate something that’s free. This is a deep pocket issue for sure. Complete “follow the money” suit. Why not sue nissan for not making booster compatible seat belts or sue nissan because the juke isn’t as big as an armada. While your at it, sue the DOT for not putting up retractable bollards at red lights to stop red light runners. ( doesn’t say if it’s at a red light or not) Maybe sue the restaurant they ate at because if the food came out quicker they may have not been at that spot at that time. (Again just speculation, but showing how ridiculous this blame game gets) This is the society we live in. Only person that wins is attorney.
  20. Seeing that Lincoln knows and has acknowledged early issues, I suspect you have a good shot at swapping vehicles. That’s a much easier ordeal than trying to lemon law. Getting Into another Lincoln is the easiest way. Getting the money back to buy something else is a longer road. Good luck I hope it goes well for you.
  21. Cadillac seems to have ADD. It appears they are throwing stuff at the wall and seeing what sticks. One year they are over here and the next they are over there. Seems to have no real plan. That is Such a waste of money. I’m all for trying new things but stick with some kind of identity. Headquarters move to NY, then not. XLR off corvette, then pull it, ELR flop, pull it. Make a flagship sedan spend a ton of cash making it hi-tech. Then kill it. Take names away and add x-t-c to ts. Then add numbers on top of those that don’t really represent anything, 400, 300 etc. Now kill all that and bring names back and go electrification after you kill the volt which got you in the EV segment (along with ev1). They need to sit down and make a long term plan.
  22. If I remember correctly the radiator core support is fiberglass and it does bolt on. I don’t recall how difficult it is to do. As far as compatibility. 2000-2003 are the same. 2004-2007 will fit but look different. The grille and bumper was changed in 2004+ Slightly.
