  1. Yeah I’ve been there a several times but don’t live there. I guess I was thinking the bus services and I have used that people mover around the cobo center.
  2. Thanks for all the well wishes. I’m actually working for my family’s business. I’ll be in construction and high end windows and doors.
  3. This may have been discussed before, can CD6 platform be switched to a car quickly? Did Ford have a plan B Incase cars come back in style, can they throw a top hat on and get back to business of selling cars?
  4. I just can’t get behind this Hackett guy. I’m trying to be optimistic, but he just doesn’t seem to be the right guy for the job. But time will tell. Let’s see what happens!
  5. Just wanted to let everyone know, I am no longer a Ford dealership technician. I still have friends and knowledge to help with questions. However, I won’t be in the loop as much. I’ve decided to try a different avenue of work. I have been in Ford dealerships since 1996 and Ford and the dealers have been good to me. I’m still a Ford enthusiast and plan on still buying them. Also, I’ll still be here adding my two cents and answering questions. I guess I need to change my username.
  6. That was the explanation. Not sure if you have ever experienced a owner/boss that tells you to do one thing but if it doesn’t work out, it’s your fault. I absolutely have no proof that this is going on at Ford but I could totally see it.
  7. Purely speculation, but I have a feeling the Ford family sets expectations and the ceo tries to appease them at all costs rather than tell them the hard truth. I wonder if fields was trying to keep himself off the hot seat by padding the books with cost cutting. So is the Ford family near sighted and doesn’t see the value of investment of the future? Or is it that the CEOs just want to make as much money as they can during their tenure and ride the golden parachute down?
  8. Wall Street is run off rumors, guesses and projections. It’s like a person with bipolar disorder. One minute everything is wonderful and one blip and the sky is falling. It would be interesting to calculate how many times these “experts” are correct versus not. I suspect like the weather man, more misses than hits.
  9. I agee with that about the train station in its current form about parking and lack of conveniences. They could do nothing , tear it down and one more piece of Detroit down the tubes of despair, or actually try and make something of an iconic building. We all know the Moron family or the city wasn’t going to. Like any new construction, chances are a parking garage will be made, restaurants will come in, maybe even be in the train station. Mass transit could be brought in. Although we see from the outside a big mess of corporate ADD, I welcome some forward thinking. Ford has stayed in business 116 years. They have to be doing something right every now and then. I would rather Ford risk money and try new ventures rather than do nothing and go stale like Sears. If sears had any forward thinking they would have turned those catalog sales into online sales way before amazon. That said, Ford does need to get a hold of some current issues with quality etc.
  10. I bet you could find a complete rear end out of a junk yard for those cheap and easily.
  11. This is out of the owners manual. The air conditioning compressor can operate in all modes except floor only and panel only. However, the air conditioning will only function if the outside temperature is about 6°C (43°F) or higher.
  12. Check the operation of the compressor when you select floor only or panel only. The rangers would run the compressor when on a/c, max a/c, defrost, and panel/floor. Other two positions the compressor doesn’t run. It was in the owners manual. It may be normal.
  13. Not to pick at a scab, and I’m sure this has been discussed many times. However, I’m curious to see what the cost to build difference between the Korean/Japanese automakers and domestics. Meaning, overhead.
  14. Something else to keep in mind. The crank position sensor is adjustable and there is a special tool to gap it correctly. If it’s not close enough it won’t pick up. I would make sure it’s very close to exciter ring on balancer without hitting it. Check the theft light operation. It should come on solid and turn off if everything is operating correctly. If it’s flashing then it’s locked out by pats.
  15. Does the theft light come on and go out when key is turned on? Does the check engine light go out during cranking? Did you check the inertia switch on the passenger side footwell for being tripped? Does the fuel pump prime when you turn key to run?
  16. Sticking isolation valve in the hydraulic control unit for the ABS would not set a code but could cause a low pedal. Fusions had that problem 06-09 and the HCU needed replacement. my first suspect would be the master cylinder. If you have some plugs to screw into the ports of master cylinder where the lines are and the pedal still sinks then it’s bypassing internally. Brake booster won’t cause a low pedal, rather a hard pedal or hissing noise. isolating the master cylinder first is the first step I would take. It’s basically a standard brake system with just a hcu to release brake pressure on a wheel or wheels during an ABS event.
  17. Looks great. I hope you have many trouble free miles. Keep in mind, no to discredit others with problems, the internet always shows the worst of the worst.
  18. I have no issue saying the Telluride is a better value as far as more options for less money. I think it’s unfair, regardless of make, to put a top tier model against a entry level. Put at least a limited against an SX. Then point out hey these are comparably equipped but there’s a 10k difference or whatever it is. If they put the ST or platinum against the SX Telluride, it would be just as unfair. Critics don’t see or feel the money aspect. They feel and see the product. So having different tier vehicles is going to sway experience.
  19. Not to derail this conversation because it’s supposed to be about the Corsair not the Explorer or Telluride. However, it’s awfully funny how if the Explorer was Front wheel drive everyone would be in uproar and say how awful it is. Not to mention when the rags discuss the Telluride and palisade, they are related under the skin. Yet the Explorer gets no props for being rwd and they still say the aviator is the same vehicle. We all know damn well the aviator doesn’t look anything remotely to the Explorer. I guarantee the Kia and Hyundai are indistinguishable underneath on a lift. As the Explorer and aviator have different suspensions. Point is, if Kia made a great suv, then fantastic for them. However, they should get knocked for the same crap.
  20. IMO something going wrong isn’t that big of a deal as long as it can be ironed out relatively quickly. The irritating part is for some reason, Ford does not learn from past mistakes. This company stays in a cycle. It will do poor in an area, have a knee jerk reaction, reset and promise to fix it all. Then everything is pretty good for a while and then we go down this road again. A retired Ford warranty auditor told me many years ago, “you can see the attitude of the owner throughout the entire dealer “. So is this the case? Does the Ford Family let this cycle keep happening?
  21. When the manufacturers quit using substandard vendors and/or they quit squeezing the vendors so tight they cut corners to make a profit.
  22. It’s good to see Lincoln get some love after all these years. It’s been a long time coming. Hopefully they can keep the momentum. I do wish they would keep the continental to keep the portfolio complete. The coach doors, IMO, is a good start.
  23. Reminds me of windstar sliding door contacts. By the way not sure how I got a double post but it can be deleted.
  24. Problem with contacts is when the door is open loss of power windows/locks and speakers would not be favorable.
  25. Pickuptrucks.com closed the comment section on their articles. Which I’m so glad about. I actually quit reading anything off their site because of the ridiculous commentary.
