  1. How's the new assistant plant manager doing? "Farley"???
  2. Told today that a grand total of 5 people stood up and said no to this 8 page waste of paper. 3 of them were from KTP and the other 2 I am not for sure. International is suppose to be at KTP tomorrow to explain to the committee why they should try to sell this garbage. More updates to follow.
  3. It's all a game birdman. You just have to know how to play the game better than your stupidvisor. Everyone who is coming over to KTP, welcome and I am sure you will learn the KTP game quickly.
  4. Who cares what they are saying. I for one have heard enough of their BS. Let's just hope GM and Chysler don't screw this up!!
  5. WOW, Alot of free time in the union office today? 7 posts since 12:30. Must have not been to much going on in your area today. Or are you one of the special assignment guys picked by Scott? I guess this is just the beginning of the full court press. The unAbell gang must be alittle bit worried huh? I find all these posts interesting and not unusual for the unAbell gang. Kind of funny after seeing what I did today. One of the hang-er-oners (SHAGGY FIRKINS) walking up to some people on the fast frame line and acting like it was some big secret passing out invitations for a "KICK OFF " THE CAMPAIGN PARTY FOR SCOTT ESKRIDGE. Good ol Shaggy was acting like this was on the downlow and did not want a bunch of people to know about it. He said there were only 50 invitations. 6. So Chicago has had Todd Bryant also?
  7. Good ol' level seems to be a few bubbles to the left or right depending on which direction you are looking at him :shades:
  8. None that I know of yet. We go back to work on Monday and I am sure the rumors will be flyin.
  9. Hey they did let the UAW use the parking lot yesterday for a yearly Arts and Crafts show. :happy feet:
  10. I like you Jeg. Right to the point and as I read this thread it goes to prove my point that it is hard to argue the truth. Keep up the fight brother!!!!! :shades:
  11. Without having read the entire contract that GM has been givin, what did they really get besides the 3000 signing bonus? We have talked about this at KTP and really what the hell did the UAW gain? From what we have read there is no "JOB SECURITY" which was supposedly a big sticking point. No "GER AN TEE" of job security what so ever. There is nothing I have read that says you won't have to move to Mexico or Istanbul to keep your job. Is this really what they call "JOB SECURITY" I for one do not understand why they went out on strike. What was different from what the TV news and papers were reporting on Thurs/Fri. (then they walk) to the agreement that was announced on Wed? I for one wonder if Mr. G walked GM on purpose to "SCARE" the employees. To let them see what it was like to walk a picket line and think about what it is like to be on strike. Then all of a sudden an agreement is made and they tell them they have of vote YES to it so they don't have to be out on the street walking that picket line again drawing 200 a week. I don't know what the average age of the employee is at GM but would guess it is the same as Ford. (or somewhat close) Most of us have never been on strike and I am sure the "SCARE" tactic is a very useful tool but are they really going to rely on this to get some bullshit contract passed? (You are right, I know they have done this before/COA's) At what point in time will the UAW hold the company accountable for the stupidity that has occured in the past 10 years? If an agreement is settled upon, at what point in time will the company have to abide by the contract they agreed too without having to open it back up in a years time and screw us/retirees and the UAW learders tell you we need to do this to save our jobs? Are our leaders in someones pockets? It makes you wonder.
  12. An employee should be fired for a true statement? Ask any employee at KTP (management included) and I am willing to bet that 99% would give you the same answer. It is very hard to argue the truth and I will state again that this plant has never been run in the 13 years I have been there, the way it is today. That my friend starts with the man up front chewing on his swisher sweet cigars. Remember, if no one gave a sh*t, this forum would not exist. Calvin, have you ever worked at Ktp in the past 13 years? (you may have back in the heavy truck days) If not then do you really know what is going on over here? I know you are across town and I'm Not trying to be a dick. It is hard to understand how this plant is run now days. We build a quality product with what we are given but how many times this year has the parking lots been blocked off for crap being run off the end of the line? Granted it is mostly supplier problems but some is not and we keep building the product to the best of our ability even though we and management know it is bad. What kind of logic is this? Why not fix the problem and be done with it before it is pushed out the door and put on hold? If someone can explain this to myself and the other 4000+ people inside the walls of KTP it would be greatly appreciated.
  13. And it starts at the top. You work for 1 1/2 hours today and sit around til Noon and nobody can tell you anything? You really have to be kidding me right? I mean the line starts at 6am and at 7:30 the line all of a sudden stops and you sit on a box til 12:00? Something is not right. Call me stupid but if the Line sup. says "I have no clue what is going on but make sure you clean that fan off " something is not up to par.
  14. To be totally honest with you guys the problem with KTP is the man in charge. The Plant manager is a total idiot. Todd Bryant has got to be/is the dumbest person in charge of any plant in the Ford system. You employees, union or not, cannot tell me that this guy has taken this plant and run it into the ground nose first. I have been at this plant for 13 yrs. and we have never had the problems we are having now. Parts shortage, bad shit coming in, stupidity within the plant as far as line sups. shitty product being shipped out, shitty product being built, YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS THAT THE POWERS THAT BE CANNOT SEE THIS. He has taken total idiots and put them in charge of repairs that they have no business being in charge of and he has idiots in charge of the lines that don't even know that we are actually building a truck. As far as they know we are building a Probe, LTD, van, Mark VIII,caprice, viper, mobile home. They could not tell you which end is the front and which end is the back on the Frame line if they were marked. At what point will the company wake up and figure out that Ktp is/was the bread and butter of the company? Honestly who would like Todd Bryant gone? It has to be better for the company/union to have this jackass gone. What are your thoughts?
  15. You must remember that tomorrow the powers that be will "SUGAR COAT" THIS AGREEMENT and tell you how great this will be for the future of the plant. (Ask the people that passed their agreement only to have the doors closed) Remember we had an agreement in 2003 and low and behold the company opened it up and for some reason, we voted to give away our raises/cola/retiree benefits ect. to help out the company. The company in turn gives head dog 28 mil. bonus for 3-6 months work? Our very own head of the union, Mr. Gettlefinger get a 2.3% raise and no telling how much under the table for Mr. King getting this COA thing started at his home plant. These guys will stand up there and tell us that we have this in writing but it obviously does not mean shit. Past history tells us this. Remember, we did not put the company in the situation it is in. That was well taken care of up in Detroit!!!! (we don't have to go into all the screw-ups they have made) If we vote this down do they go back to the table? Do we lose flex body/laser whatever/sole producer of Super Duty? I believe we have the upper hand in this because we are the only plant in the system to be making profit for the units rolling off the line for the past 5 or so years. (so i have been told) We have the stamping plant. We are the biggest plant in the system under one roof. The order bank is strong. All the suppliers are within 5 hours of us. Too much other stuff to mention and if the company up and close the place then they they make my point EXACTLY!!!!!!!!!! STUPID BUSINESS DECISIONS WILL BE THE DOWNFALL OF FORD MOTOR COMPANY NOT THE UNION. (that means the people who actually build the damn vechicle) The powers that be cannot stand up there and "SUGAR COAT" this agreement. I would have more respect for them if they just told us the truth!!!!!!!! (You know, "this agreement is everything we stand against blah blah but ect. ect.) But they won't. It will be more along the lines of "this agreement is they greatest thing since the invention of the wheel" ect.ect. It will be a sad day. And the worst thing about it is I bet less than 500 people will show up tomorrow. It does seem fitting that this was all done during Derby Week. Even though they have been behind closed doors since what? Feb/March? It gets done Monday (so the powers can attend the derby events) and the info meeting will be Sunday the day after the biggest party in town. Don't think for a minute this was not well thought out. THANKS MR. ("I won't lose any sleep over this at night") ABLE, I'm sure you won't. Thanks ESKRIDGE, DUNN, KESSINGER for standing up there following the leader, and a big FU to Mr Gettlefinger and Mr. King for selling the history of the UAW out. (pitting plant against plant) I only hope Sept. goes better than the first 5 months of the year.
