  1. Just returned from the service department. Turns out the engine cover is deleted. Per SSM 49400 2020 Escape/2020-2021 Corsair - Engine Cover No Longer Equipped. 2020 Escape vehicles equipped with a 1.5L engine built on or after 21-Sept-2020 and 2020 Escape/2020-2021 Corsair vehicles equipped with 2.0L, 2.3L, and 2.5L engines built on or after 04-Aug-2020 are no longer equipped with an engine cover. The vehicle is not misbzuilt. Do not submit a claim for this condition.
  2. I went to the dealer today and the parts department verified that my VIN shows including the cover. The dealer will get and install the cover.
  3. Just wondering if the engine cover has been deleted from the 2.0 L engine? I just purchased a 2020 titanium that I am still getting to know. I already had a miss built driver window. that is being replaced since it was not the acoustic laminated window like the passenger side window is so at this point I start to wonder what else isn't right. I noticed that the owners manual has a picture of the different available engines in the maintenance section with the cover shown and there is a part number for the engine cover - K2GZ6A949A. I know that some other ford models no longer have the engine cover but since it is shown in the owners manual and is available to purchase has the engine cover been delete on 2020 Escape Titanium or am I missing the cover on my Escape? Thanks.
  4. Also spare tire is an option on the 21's. I was originally going to wait for the 21's to be available but when I saw all the decontenting I ran out and bought a 2020 Escape Titanium. $6,000 in rebates didn't hurt.
  5. Hi all, I have 2019 Edge that is only a few months old. I have just recently had the opportunity to use the rear window defroster. The defroster has two seperate grids. The main grid covers most of the window while the second grid covers a small area across the top of the window. It appears that the top grid is not working. In the picture the top of the window still has condensation while the bottom gris is clear. I am assuming there is something wrong with the top grid and I need to take it to the dealer but before scheduling an appointment I was wondering if anyone else has noticed that their defroster works the same way and it is just the way the defroster is made. I appreciate any input. Thanks.
  6. I have a 2008 escape hybrid AWD. I just had this issue on the way to Florida from NJ last month. I had about 72,000 miles on the car. It happened once going to Fl. and several times on the way back. It only happened when going over 70 MPH. Each time I had to pull over shut ignition off and restart the car. The dealer replaced the coolant pump as you mentioned above. I do not think I would have noticed the problem if I had not been traveling on I95. I usually am not going over 70MPH locally. Luckily I had the extended warranty so the repair only cost me $50. I believe from searching the internet this is a common problem with this vehicle.
  7. I believe you need to hold one hundred shares in order to get x-plan pricing.
  8. I also did the lifetime subscription when the six month trial is over. Considering I plan to keep my Escape about 8 years I think it will be worth while.
  9. When I saw the newspaper add where they compared the highway miliage of equinox to the escape hybrid I had to laugh. yes the equinox beat the escape by 1 mpg hwy. But overall the escape gets better gas miliage. The dont mention city or average mileage. The escape does better. Escape 34 City/ 31 Hwy 32 combined Equinox 22 city/ 32 Hwy 26 combined The escape gets 6 more mpg on average.
  10. I also want to thank Ford. I love my 2 Fords and I plan to buy more Fords when I am ready for another car. I also support Ford indirectly by bringing all my service to the selling dealer.
  11. It wold help if you could be more specific. I had a creaking sounding rattle in the rear of my Escape. They tore the car apart trying to find it. The rattle noise sounded like it is coming from somewhere other than the actual parts causing the rattle. They eventually retorked all the nuts on the rear suspension which finally took care of it.
  12. My Escape is a Hybrid without running boards. I can see why if you have running boards the stone protector would not be on the car. I always assumed that that is just the way the car came and did not pay any attention to them.
  13. fordcane, They are supposed to be there. I think it is some type of protector for stones kicking up.
  14. Purchased new: 1995 Windstar 1999 Taurus 2003 Windstar 2008 Escape Hybrid
  15. I have noticed that the dealer where I purchased my FEH actually has a sticker on the new cars on the lot listing any repairs made and the costs. When I have looked at those cars I could not tell they were damaged. At least the customer will know before buying the car what they were getting. I have bought three new cars from this dealer. Due as much as a result of the return service as anything else.
