  1. Well thanks...and yes, it would.
  2. thanks it was also one of the easiest to date.
  3. I'm not sure if I've seen that commercial yet.
  4. Well, would you rather have a vehicle with lackluster sales = sales at all, or no vehicle = no sales? I'd think since the tooling is already paid for and being used, having a Mercury TX (or SX) would be better than nothing. As you said, I don't believe a Mercury Edge/MKX would be a good idea, too much overlap, and that's probably why one wasn't designed. You mentioned bringing Euro models here....as I've said many times, that'd only be a short term solution, and one that is increasingly less worth it. With Ford globalizing it's products, etc., bringing Euro Fords over would just put Mercury in the same rebadge boat it's in now in a few years....and with the globalization already beginning, the new global Fords are only a year or two away (some models at least), thus rendering a Euro Ford -> US Mercury rebadge useless at this time and a waste of money.
  5. I thought the ad for the GMC Yukon Hybrid during the Super Bowl was horrible. Im not too sure what GM was thinking. That was supposed to be a "regular" ad after last year's suicidal robot ad. What did you guys think of it?
  6. Hyundai showed 2 commercials for it's new Genesis sedan. I think it looked good in the ads. I'll try to find links later. They also made their "more room than a BMW 7-series" claim. Did any of you see these and if so, what'd you think?
  7. I know going to NAIAS last year spoiled me when it comes to auto shows. It made the local auto shows (Miami, Ft. Lauderdale) look like a pile of sand and a grain of salt, respectively.
  8. I too think it will do substantially better than the SSR. I think there were several problems with the SSR: 1) it had a carpeted bed, and thus couldn't really be used as a truck, and 2) it was a 2 door 2 seater which is not very practical these days, granted it wasnt supposed to be a very practical truck but still. I do believe that in certain applications, a convertible truck (a proper truck of course) could sell well.
  9. I thought the mirrors looked different, I didnt really notice the fenders until you mentioned them though.
  10. Thats all 2003 Lightning concept except for the new headlights and grille....man that truck still looks great.
  11. I'm confused....I was talking about Tundras, asking if they're sold around the world, are you talking about Tundras as well? You said SDs, you mean Super Duties right? Sorry if there was confusion.
  12. I see. I hope they come out with a new Lightning....Ford needs another "excitement" vehicle, although I can understand why they don't want to financially right now. I just had an idea....what if they debuted the EcoBoost (should be TwinForce for this application) 6.8L? BOSS engine on a new Lightning before it was available in the other models. 625-hp sounds fine for a Lightning.....then hp could be increased with other technologies after the engine spreads through the lineup, or just leave it as is.
  13. I would but, I'm very busy right now, so I don't have much time. I'll try to work on something.....don't expect it too soon though.
  14. When did that happen? I never saw too many of them, I see one or two occasionally though. I guess the 4 door version didn't help sales much.
  15. I was going to say, I though Ford did some commercials like that. I'd like to see more though.
  16. Oh, it's probably a bit different then.
  17. Toyota is laughing at all the Mercedes, Maybach, and other high-end manufacturers who offer massage seats......Toyota figured out how to do it without an expensive chair....just make the whole vehicle be a giant massage machine, there's only one setting though.....it's called UGLY, WEAK, INCAPABLE, NON-QUALITY, AND VIBRATIONS, and yes that's the official name for this STANDARD equipment. I just realized, Toyota is obsessed with turds.....we've got the TuRD package, switch a few letters around you got the TURDNA (Tundra), whats next the 'DRUT' (turd backwards)? I forgot about the Tundra (or TURDna) manure in the bed ad.....more evidence that Toyota likes turds.
  18. A TOTY because there was nobody else to give it to. I don't know how a 4 star truck is "safest" when every other truck are 5 stars 196K, not 200K sold. There, now end of story.
  19. FYI, Toyota did not reach their 200K sales mark. And they did it by dropping loads of incentives in a market where the best vehicle in the class is 4 years old, didn't load on the incentives, and is still better than Tundra.
