  1. I walked through the plant with my 2011 super duty. No I didn't tell any one how to do their job nor did I ask for any special care or parts. What I did get was a lot of people saying thanks for buying our truck. And to this day people see me in the plant and ask how my Super duty is doing. This was a positive experience and made me feel proud to be a UAW/Ford worker. I think all plants should allow this.
  2. OK A lot of good information in the last few posts. In fact back when medium duty F series trucks were built at KTP the cab was built in the F buck that could have also built F150 cabs. Once dressed out with a big front end and sitting on a big frame they just looked different. In 1996 (I think) the F150 body became different from the 250 and up. It might make some sense to move to more commonality in all F series in the future. (Just my opinion.) Remember, Ford is trying to become a leaner company. So it does make some sense that KTP could build medium duty again with out adding too much. How high up could they go in class? I don’t know, but it is an interesting idea. I was always amazed that the C series lasted so long with almost no body changes. Yes it was replaced by the Cargo. By the way the cargo was also sold to Freight Liner along with the HN80. And as for Al Stewart, He recorded a song in the 70s called “The Year of the Cat” Hopefully loyal Ford truck buyers will get an opportunity to purchase an American made medium truck in the not so distant future. One last thing. There are changes happening at KTP as we speak.
  3. Lighten up Bob R. This topic started with Marys question. 650/750 news? Well I just gave you some. I looked at some other posts and there is one on the "Ford Rumor Mill & Concept Cars / Trucks" page from RC38 that gives some insight into things that are happening at KTP. However I think RC took a buy out. Good luck RC with your life after Ford and merry Christmas to You. He may still be in the know???? We will just have to wait and see how this all plays out. Think about this. Rome wasn"t built in a day and neither is a body shop or frame line. A 2012 model would actually come out sometime in 2011. Vendors and tooling suppliers would be building tooling long before that. The normal procedure in todays automotive buisness ( all manufacturers, not just Ford) is to build production equipment in build shops, prove it out and then disassemble it and ship it to the assembly plant. That is a fairly long lead time. So since the ball is about to drop and ring in 2008 in about 11 days, a 2012 launch is really not all that far away..... Stay tuned. Now that I have your attention. Here is one way off the wall. Do you know who Al Stewart is? Merry Christmass to all !!!!! Ho Ho Ho
  4. Here is some real 650/750 news. Look for the 650/750 to be built at Kentucky Truck Plant starting with the 2012 model year.
