  1. I was just at that dealer the other day and that same Flex is still there but it's not in the front row anymore. I will admit that I am a huge fan of the Flex, I think it's a great looking vehicle. If I needed to move around groups of people I would certainly be getting one. That being said this is definitely the worst option they could have gone with.
  2. I agree with the engine being loud, I'm pretty sure that's because it idles a lot higher than regular vehicles (almost 2000 rpm). But I definitely have to disagree with the lack of power. I always seem to have all the power that I need, especially on the highway. I've put my foot to the floor and even gotten some noise out of the tires. As for starts from a complete stop, I've only had the engine start when I know that the battery is a little low on charge. Anything under 40 will almost always get me EV mode. I'm averaging low 30s with normal driving (no special hybrid techniques) and 6700 miles. Completely satisfied with everything about it
  3. I registered on the Ford Owners website and found out that gave me a login to the sync website as well.
  4. That's weird because I can leave work with the engine and A/C running and be in EV by the time I hit the traffic light less then a mile away. It's been in the upper 80's here and I do park in a structure so that might make a difference, but I have also had the engine cut out with the A/C on after being parked in the sun. I wonder if maybe a sensor is mixed up.
  5. Mine goes into EV with the A/C in Econ and for the most part it will stay EV as well. I want to say that the issue is that the climate control feels it needs to run more A/C to get to the right temp. I have noticed that sometimes when the engine cuts out the fan speed increases. How high is the outside temp and how long as the A/C been running?
  6. Honestly, they aren't as useful as I thought they would be. They are helpful getting in but not so much getting out. I'll have to see how they work for my girlfriend, since she's the main reason I ordered them. The nice thing is they provide multiple functions. It can help prevent other doors from hitting the side and also keeping the splashes from the front tires from getting up to the doors.
  7. Alright, I think I have the pictures in here, but I'm not too sure
  8. Hey, thought I'd throw out there that I just picked up my Escape on Wednesday and I'm 330 miles into my 1st tank and the computer says that I'm averaging 30.3 mpg. This is definitely exceeding the estimate of 28mpg (combined) for the 4WD.
  9. I assume that you are talking about the keypad on the driver's door. I had that on my '88 Taurus and I loved it. I was really excited to get it on my new Escape. I'm not sure how much it gets used today since everyone has remotes, but I know it is useful if keys get locked inside or you want to leave the car running while you are not in it.
  10. I'll have to take some better ones during daylight. I should be able to do that later today.
  11. The new Sync and Nav system are the coolest gadgets I've seen in or out of a car. Sync works exactly as they describe it in the commercials and the Sirius Travel Link is so useful. Not only can you check the weather, it can check traffic as well. Plus there's the 10gb hard drive for ripping CDs and the ability to play DVDs while parked. As a button-pushing geek, I am in total heaven in the Escape. :hyper:
  12. That's the way it was supposed to be. But I know that while I was waiting for mine, my dealer got 2 for their showroom. Plus there's all the ones in California showrooms.
  13. I just picked up my 4x4 Hybrid Limited yesterday. It seems that most people are ordering FWD. Mine was delayed about a month apparently due to several different factors. There was weather delay, transportation strike and apparently a delay with the new nav systems that are going into the Escapes and the Flex. But I have it now and love it. Totally worth the wait even if it was excruciating.
  14. Yes Yes, it does include an audio jack in the front console. I'm not sure about MP3 discs though. There is only a mention of that in the option for the Audiophile system which seems to be an option only on the XLT and Limited (Gas). There is already debate over whether or not that system is part of the Nav package. With or without the Navigation system the (Gas)Limited, Hybrid and Hybrid Limited come with SYNC which will work with an iPod or other MP3 player. However, I have heard that the SYNC system is even better and easier to use if you get the Navigation system. I ordered mine with the Nav but I'm a sucker for fancy technology and things with buttons :D That is true, but it is the base price for the FWD model not including tax, destination fee, etc. Hope this answers your questions.
