  1. I don't doubt that marketing data comes into play along with manufacturing efficiencies. I get it. Just stating as someone who is a GM convert who took delivery of the first 07 Expedition EL at my local dealer (Hats off to Cisco Codena, Group VP N. America for Ford at that time for helping to make it happen) I wish there was a way to provide for the entire Expy customer base. I've had 6 Expeditions since 07 and wouldn't go return to GM. Perhaps a good alternative would be offering the XLT again with additional options (MY 18 & 19 for example) since this trim is available without the roof.
  2. Not every customer wants the Panoramic Vista roof or 22 inch wheels. Each should be a stand alone so customers can purchase a Limited FX4 and not have to take the roof or a Limited Stealth without the 22s . I can build out a competitive Suburban or Yukon XL without both. It shouldn't be an issue as Ford now offers the Pano roof as a stand alone on the Explorer ST. Keep the price the same. But don't force the roof on me!
  3. I've haven't had one with it but I've ridden in row 2 & 3 with friends that do. And when my kids sat in row 3 they had to tilt their head forward unless the seat was reclined which took up cargo room. I'm spoiled with the head room of the EL from 2007 - 2017. I agree that in the drivers seat it isn't a problem but the redesign did compromise the space for those in the back. I might have to keep my 17 forever now.
  4. Yes, they often do. They like the cops get blamed 99% of the time. Another reason for continued border security. Unfortunately the loss of life will only continue to climb with the new administration.
  5. I've also had the rain sensing wipers on my KR trims. Never an issue. But it's frustrating that Ford won't offer all of the great features unless you step up to the Limited which again comes with the pano roof. There is a market for those of us who don't want it! Compromises head room. All of my kids that sit in row 2/3 have their head in the headliner. Row three in full upright position means three of them have to bend their head down when in full upright mode for cargo! At one time the XLT trim even had 2nd row seat heats as an option. I'm a loyal Ford fan ever since Cisco Codena, Ford's North American Marketing Sales and Service chief (retired now) helped get me my first EL. GM allows a build with every creature comfort on the lower trim Suburbans without the roof. I'll still purchase a Ford but wish management would hear the frustration of those of us who don't want the roof but will still pay for the other options.
  6. Now that I'm ready to order an Expy Max FX4 after reviewing all of the specs in greater detail Ford no offers: 1. Rain sensing wipers 2. Auto dim drivers side mirror 3. Power adjustable pedals 4. Interior ambient lighting In addition they dropped the speaker level to six from nine. All of these items were standard in 2018 with the redesign. I'd pay an extra $1000.00 to have these options available. While they are all standard in the Limited FX4 Ford makes you take the Vista roof which is the one option I don't want. I noticed GM allows customers to get all of the comfort options without taking the roof. Still staying with Ford but sure wish they would adjust the order/option packages.
  7. Any idea when the Build/Price feature for the 21 might show up on the Ford website?
  8. Haven't reviewed it yet but not good! Ford took out so many good features on the 2020 XLT 202A compared with the 18/19 that my employees had grown accustomed to. It didn't make sense to me why drivers auto dim mirror, rain sense wipers, power adjustable pedals, ambient lighting were dropped on the MY20 even with the 202A. Plus speaker count was decreased to six from nine. Some bean counter thought this was a good idea no doubt. Raise the package price! Keep the features.
  9. Excellent & thank you. I saw the Kodiak Brown is coming back. Very nice especially on the KR
  10. Any possibility the order guide will be available sooner?
  11. Thanks for posting the order guide. Very helpful. Also noticed that compared to MY19 the XLT for 20 gets a bit of a downgrade even with 202A. No drivers auto dimming mirror, no ambient lighting & no rain sensing wipers. Plus the speaker count has been reduced from nine to six. Those features made the XLT a very attractive package.
  12. Have purchased 3 KR trims I've held off hoping it would be back. My only gripe is looks like the only choice will be 22" wheels with the pano roof. Both I can do without. Wish Ford would allow customers more stand alone option choices.
  13. I have two choices at my local dealer for a new Expy EL. One has rear LL and the other one doesn't. I've always had the option on my other Expys and although I don't tow anything it seemed to make a difference when loading up the 5 kids, luggage and the roof rack. The color I really like is of course the one without the rear LL. Having had it on the other Expys would it be noticable from a performance standpoint if I didn't get it this time? Is there a load amount where the standard suspension begins to sink? I don't want to have that feel of going to the moon but maybe it wouldn't make a real differance. Any mechanics or engineers that could comment? Thanks for any input.
  14. As someone who is awaiting a 3rd Expedition EL, it completely blows away the competition. Both my wife and I use to drive Suburbans and i always preferred the Expedition but needed the extra room for both work and the family. When I was told Ford had gone ahead with the extended length I ordered an 07 and had to fight to keep my wife away from it. I gave in shortly thereafter ordered her an 08. Since I also run a small business I was also in the process of switching our fleet to an all Ford line. that included bringing on board an additional two EL units for other employees. Now I'm waiting on my 2010! everything about the Ford product is better. My only wish list would be a few more color offerings and power fold mirrors on the EB version.
  15. Thanks for the input. I do need the air suspension so I decided to order an EL EB with Rapid 203A which also allowed for every option I wanted without having to include the boards. I only wish Ford would have included the power fold mirror option on the EB. It has everything else. But, I can make it work as this will be my 6th EL. "I'll never regret trading in my Suburban for this product"
  16. I'm about ready to add another EL to the fleet. Looking over the 2010 options list for a Limited model it seems like for the option package I want there is no choice but to take the power running boards. Can anyone with the power boards offer any comments as to their performance or if you have ever had any service issues. Thanks!
