  1. My 2023 Escape Platinum Hybrid AWD went In Production 1/31/23, Built 4/11/23, Shipped 4/17/23, arrived at my dealer in Columbus, Ohio today. Picking it up tomorrow. Replacing a 2020 Escape similarly equipped. Will post impressions and comments after I have a few miles on it.
  2. I'm in the exact same boat. According to the dealer it was built that week, but nothing has changed since. It sounds like a hold for the software update mentioned in the articles.

My 2023 Escape AWD Hybrid that is basically loaded with equipment group 600A and the Premium Technology Package went into production on 1/9 and remained in that status until today when the dealer was notified it is ready to ship. Whatever was holding it up (EPA or NHTSA testing, parts?) has been rectifed and I was able to print out a complete window sticker. Sticker price has gone up to $42,205 on my 2023 from $36,330 on my 2020 Escape AWD Hybrid lease car with only modest content upgrades (Head Up Display, Sync 4 with 13.2" screen, Wireless Charging Pad, Floor Liners).
  4. I ordered a 2023 Escape Platinum Hybrid for my wife at Germain Ford in Columbus, OH the middle of the week the order bank opened. Late last week I got an e-mail from Ford stating it was scheduled to be built the week of January 9, 2023.
  5. The 38 mpg on my first 100 miles was mixed driving. What was really surprising was according to the trip computer I got 71.6 mpg on a 16 mile stretch (with only two stop signs) of a 45 mph road on rolling terrain in Arkansas between a grocery store and my house. While I was intentionally was being very gentle with the accelerator pedal, I was not holding anybody up and going with the flow of light traffic. When I got home the trip display indicated I was in electric mode about 50% of the way. My wife got 50 mpg on about 40 miles of 35-50 mph road today.
  6. Ordered our Titanium Hybrid AWD in Velocity Blue on 6/7, it arrived at dealer 11/27, I picked it up yesterday 12/5. It had 48 miles on it when delivered, so I assume it was tested before it left the factory. While it will be my wife's car (replacing a previous generation Escape Titanium), I drove it about 100 miles before turning it over to her. Initial impressions follow. It drives very light in Normal mode (which she loves), I prefer the feel in Sport mode which tightens up the steering and handling feel just enough. Drives and rides more like a car than the previous generation Escape. Great front visibility, don't even know there is a hood out there. Very quiet. Interior layout and controls are cleaner and more simple versus many other current Ford models. Sync touch screen is much clearer, sharper and faster than the giant vertical screen in my 2020 Explorer. The CVT has come a long way in the last decade. Surprisingly good, responsive pickup when passing going up a hill. Velocity Blue looks great in person with the Sandstone interior. Haven't tried out sitting in the back seats yet, but they slide forward / backward about 3" and recline some depending if you want to maximize cargo or people space. Got 38mpg on first 100+ miles. Good first impression, my wife is delighted. I'll post an update on a new thread after a couple of thousand miles.

  8. As of yesterday my Escape Hybrid was on a railcar heading for the dealer, so they should start popping up soon.
  9. I have access to the Ford vehicle tracking system. Mine was built on October 2. Nothing significant happened after it was built until November 8 when the status was changed to Released, and the next day to Awaiting Shipment.
  10. As of 3:51AM this morning the status of mine was changed to Released, so now they should start moving out of Louisville.
  11. Does anyone know what is going on with the 2020 Escape Hybrids? Mine was built on October 2, but hasn't moved from the Louisville plant since. I saw a number of non-hybrids on my local dealer's lot this morning.
  12. I took delivery of my 2020 Explorer ST yesterday. I get a new FLM vehicle each year under the Ford Management Lease Evaluation Program retiree benefit I have, so for reference here I turned in a 2019 Ford Edge which was a good mid-size crossover, very pleasant to drive on long trips and around town, and vastly improved from the older Edges. The driving dynamic of the new 2020 Ford Explorer ST was so dramatically different I had sensory overload after those first 100 miles yesterday and had trouble processing the differences. I got up fresh this morning and took it out for another 100 miles on a variety of roads with everything from hills with tight twisties to flat open stretches. Wow! This large SUV is more far performance oriented than any SUV/CUV I have driven to date, even several so called performance variants. Fast, smooth shifting, tight, and great handling. The last time I had a similar visceral experience was when I first drove my last high performance coupe (NOTE: I am not suggesting a large SUV handles like a performance car, but after driving a variety of CUVs and SUVs over the last decade the new Explorer ST is like none of the others). A couple other points worth mentioning. The 14 speaker sound system that comes with the Premium Technology Package kicks butt, the best sound quality and punch I've heard from an FLM product in memory. The newest generation of adaptive cruise control (which also adapts for speed limit changes) and lane keeping assistance are markedly improved over that from just a year ago in my 2019 Edge. I was able to basically let the car drive itself from a curvy 55 mph zone that stepped down in increments to 25 mph, came to a complete stop, then resumed back to a 45 mph zone without touching any pedals or steering (except to lightly caress the steering wheel every 10 seconds so it wouldn't think I was driving hands free and scold me). I will update with a more comprehensive review in a couple weeks after more miles on varied roads and my first interstate highway trip.
  13. I ordered an Explorer ST for my Ford Management Lease vehicle, and today the status changed from the ordered date to a scheduled date (the week of) May 6, so planned production is moving forward on the dates as noted by ice-capades at the beginning of this topic.
  14. Mine was built 9/20, released on 10/21, and now on a train last reported rolling through southern Illinois on the way to my dealer.
  15. Mine was built on 9/20 and still hasn't shipped. Must be a hold.
