Well, I’ve got some bad news for you. Even though Ford and the UAW agreed to compile a list of everyone that had passed that test, they never actually made the list. I filed a grievance that made it all the way to third stage, only to have the UAW to tell me that it was ‘without merit’. Sounds a lot like negotiating in bad faith on our behalf, in my opinion. I’m gonna see if the NLRB can do anything for me on it. If not, I’m seeking legal counsel.

Nobody can transfer into parts distribution (HVCs, HCCs and the LVLC) anymore unless youre on the in-plant recall list or eligible for return to basic unit. Ive worked in them for nearly 20 years. Check out 403C in the last contract. Ford wants all us PDC employees to transfer to assembly. We have postings quite often for nearly any assembly openings.

Hopefully not the nickel and dime shit we've grown use to in PS&L.

Memphis has one maintenance man. We use to have 3 here, but management has cut it back to just one guy they work the piss out of and won't give any help to.

Has anyone heard anything at all about the $50,000 incentive for skilled trades to return to production? I am not getting any info from HR or UAW at my location and was wondering if anyone else heard anything. After the contract passed, I was told it would happen in the 1st quarter. Now, I'm told that 'they are still working on it'.

I'm wondering if the '$50,000 return to production' offer will still happen. If so, when??

It is a YES vote for me. This is a good contract and all the greedy ones who think we should get some ridiculous amount of a signing bonus and a raise also need to get a reality check. I am more than happy with my hourly rate. I am glad the two-tier get a decent raise because they deserve it ($19.28 an hour is a respectable wage but $15 an hour wasn't) . All the bonus $$ we will get is just icing on the cake in my opinion. Kinda makes me want to go out and buy the wife a new Fusion, but I'm gonna wait for one made at Flat Rock.

Hearing of a possible move of National Parts down to Memphis. Anybody from National got any news on this?

Just wondering if any other 'General Maintenance' personnel (classification is only in the parts distribution centers) were being asked to perform work from order pickers rather than scissor lifts?
