  1. Good question. One dealer just wanted to unload their left over 2010's on me, and two others said they could email me when they had some 2011 in stock. I took that to mean they did not want my money, and moved on.
  2. Thanks for the offer, but I have looked up the window sticker, and have it printed out. That site has actually proven very useful in my search for other cars online since dealers usually do not bother to get the options listed on their websites. Mt Dealer called and said that the car was finally loaded onto a rail car and headed this way. He said to expect two to two and a half weeks for shipping, which means by the time it gets here it will be about two months after the build date. Hopefully it gets here safely and there are no issues. Although I am glad it is on the way I will say that even getting the car will not wash away the bad taste of this experience. I have seen people on some forums who got their cars and decided it was worth their wait, and I feel this is part of the reason Ford's customer service is bad. If, no matter how late, you give somebody their car and they say 'all if forgiven' where is the incentive to improve? Thanks for the replies.
  3. The dealer I ordered from is several states away because my local dealers were not interested in helping me place on order when I decided to go for it. I have spent a lot of time searching myself, but have not found much locally, so I have begun pushing out my search area. I live in Colorado and most of what is around here is either V6 or has an option configuration I cannot settle for. I am still holding out a little hope that it gets listed as shipping early this week, but I am not holding my breath on it. If I find something else I like, so be it.
  4. Sorry, but I no longer buy the quality checks as a valid reason for the amount of delay. Two days two build a car, and more than a month to test it? Doubt it. I am sure that my car was way down on the priority list since it is not a stock unit for somebody huge like Galpin. I do understand it is a new drive train, but if it is causing this many issues after so much time and money in development, then it was not as production ready as Ford thought. Realistically how much of the past five weeks have been spent on QC of my car? Maybe an hour? And to say there will be no problems at all is beyond wishful thinking. Although this has taken entirely too long, the bigger concern is with how Ford has handled things. Seems that knowing where my car is, and what is going on with it has become some kind of state secret and I am on the need to know list. I can track a $1 purchase all the way around the world, yet Ford cannot be bothered to update my status more than twice a month? Ford knows where that car is at all times until it gets shipped out, so there is no reason to keep the dealer tracking so far behind. As I said before I think that Ford has mentally cashed my check already, so who cares if I get the car. At this point I am looking at other vehicles, so it is a race. If I find something I like before my order gets here, then Ford can keep it. I am honestly on the edge, I may let them keep it even if I do not find something else.0 My dealer has already sent on two of my emails to his zone rep, and so far the information that has come back has been the same he already had. And yes, I ordered the GT, I am sure the new engine is where you are headed with that one, but that is no excuse. If it is that much trouble for them they should not be selling it yet. I know it sounds like a lot of complaining, but since this is a forum that i supposedly read by Ford execs they need to start realizing that their lack of customer service is driving people off.
  5. Like so many people out there, I ordered a 2011 Mustang GT. Also like so many people out there, I have no real idea of when I will ever see this car. My order went through on March 31, but I was not given a build date at that time. I understand with all of the issues due to parts shipping and what-not that things were backed up. Then as the weeks rolled by, I started seeing more and more talk on the various Mustang forums concerning multiple holds, and delays in shipping. I started to get worried, but also figure that since my car was not scheduled yet the kinks would be worked out and mine would fly through. The first week of may I was finally given a build date (5/24) and an ETA of June 15th. Alright, was not that much longer, so I could hold out. Well, the 24th came and went and I never heard anything from my dealer. Finally the first week of June I broke down and emailed my dealer as well as called the customer service line (as a side note here, the false enthusiasm, and over the top excitement the people manning the phones for customer service is beyond annoying. Tone it down, we are not preschoolers who can be thrown off by somebody pitching their voice up and pretending to care) Anyway, the CS line had nothing for except that the car was "in production" and my ETA was June 15th. If I remember correctly I first called the morning of the 14th, so I am not sure how my ETA did not move. I have seen many other complain about this, and I just cannot grasp what the thought is on Ford's end to adjust an ETA when it is unattainable, or in the case of a lot of other people, has come and gone. My dealer finally got back to me and said that the car was listed "in production" because there had been no update since the 26th of May, when the build was completed. Two weeks after the car is done, and no update at all? Really? At that point I started debating if I should cancel my order and buy something else. I had passed on several good 2010 Mustangs with great financing and rebates because of this great new engine. My dealer said to just hold on longer, he had heard they would be shipping by the 20th, so it would be here soon. I convinced myself the new car with the exact features I wanted would make up for the wait. This week I again asked my dealer when the car would get here and was told that it was "in transit" (which is not entirely true since it is sitting on Ramp 51) with an ETA of July 9th, but has not been updated since June 16th. So supposedly my car is still sitting in Michigan 30 days after it was completed, without moving any closer to being mine, and with Ford not even bothering to take the time for an update in status. How can a car be built in two days, and not be run through all the quality control checks in the world in less than 30? In all of this time I have seen the good financing for the 2011 (0%/36mo) go away, I had a $750 private offer coupon expire and now the few remaining 2010 that would have fit what I wanted have been sold off of the lots. I feel that Ford has strung a lot of us along with just enough information and cars getting out to keep us on the hook while they cancel incentives and ship out a ton of cars to dealers for stock. I think Ford already counted my money (and the money of other retail orders) as cash in the bank, so no need to move on anything. The total lack of timely (and honest) information has been very trying. Quit telling me the car will be here any minute, when I know it is sitting in a parking lot collecting rail dust. Put two seconds of thought into generating real ETA's and try to at least act like you care about your customers. The worst part of all of this is that there are quite a few people out there who made a retail order after my car was built and they are driving around right now in their new Mustang. How is this even possible? Why does Ford have some little regard for those of us who have been waiting for months for this car? I know that my wait time since the car was built is not even half of what other people are experiencing, but I only have about three more days of not having this car moving my direction left in me.
