  1. I would like to get a straight answer by the UAW on this question. If some of the ACH plants go back to being Ford, will the people that filled out the survey form back in 2006 that wrongfully ended up in Dearborn be able to go back? This is the same with Saline people that went back to DTP truck plant, they also want to know this, if they will have the right to go back to Saline? If your in this same boat then we need to all find out this answer. I personally think there should be a sign up to go back to your original plant. These ACH/Visteon plants were being sold to companies like Valeo (Which was BS) which was the reason why the union was trying to get everyone out and into a Ford facility. We were all misled into thinking we would become lower wage/Visteon workers if we stayed. None of these plants were sold and it was a big smoke screen just to bring in temp workers to fuck us and make more money for those plants. The plants were already profitable and the temps made them that much more profitable. I want to know from our trusty IUAW what's going to happen here with these ACH plants. Who's going back to the Blue Oval and who's being shut down!! And please before you chime in with "Your just stuck where you are, so live with it and do your job" please don't because this is a serious question that I know many people have personally besides myself. Allow the information to be brought to us on this please, I trust the IUAW reads these forums and I would like to know what this answer is. maybe Region1A can chime in here and give us some useful intelligence? thanks
  2. I never went there and didn't care!.. Ohh wait a minute, when I was at Diversified I made a request to Tony Richards to go there, and I think I got "I'll check into it" 4 years later I'm still waiting. I don't need the place anyway, I know how to write a grievance which is more then what I can say for most elected bodies!.
  3. Sell it? so they can have more money in their pockets to go to Vegas 3 more times a year? Yeah, I'd say sell it and do something appropriate with the funds like divide it up amongst the membership or buy us new Jackets.
  4. That was a lot to read, I feel for ya and honestly I'm trying to get out of Dearborn at this time but your right about the bumping, people should be able to bump anywhere in the complex. Please check out my blog and vote. The link is below.
  5. Redemption I will be coming to day shift in Nov, I'll be glad to come down and meet you when I do. As for Ergo and safety we all know it's a joke unless these guys see these threads and buckle up and step up to show were wrong which I doubt it because yes in my years of experience these people have been in the back pockets of the in plant union and company and won't do anything about issues workers bring to them. They feel we are just crying and complaining about our job, so they kiss but by stating this to the company. You can see them just standing by the watter cooler and having a laugh. I picture it as I type this at this moment. As for team leaders yes you can vote them out or they will vote themselves out by pissing the wrong person off thats for sure. I am so tired of being told shit from now on I want a "somebody" not a "nobody" telling me what to do. Sorry that's my attitude. As for the fans, I told everyone about this already at body and also called downtown, and the service rep as well, they won't give me an answer on it, so I guess just bring in your own fan and lock it up on the line. My old job I did this and allowed all the shifts to use my fan, then when I left they were wondering where the fan went!. sorry guys at Saline.. As the weather drops down now fans really won't be an issue unless your on the door loading/hanging job at body. That area does need large Jan fans bolted to a lower hanging strut on both sides blowing in the direction of the operators down the line and it will be a big difference in that area and on the next work station down as well. Another Ergo issue for this job is to hang the nut gun from a cable/pulley (there is already a green strut) mounted over the hanging operators for this. To constantly pick up and set down a 6 pound torque nut gun all day is just going to keep people going to medical. Also just a suggestion in case ergo reads this thread which I'm sure they do sitting in their chairs all day, and that is to take the door scrape and prof switch and move it to the center of the work area where the operator grabs the nuts for the gun. You also have a trip hazard in that work station. These are things I talked about long ago but won't get fixed because those younger guys over there keep their heads down and don't say anything and they keep the line moving. It won't last for long, because I'm going to make sure things get changed down there, and everyone can hate me if they want, I don't go there to make friends at dtp body anyway. Matter of fact 99% of everyone is rude and they act like management anyway. I'm tired of it and stressed out over it. I'm going to start a blog a blog spot for dtp, you all can sign up and join me over there if you wish!. here is the address: DTP ROUGE ISSUES Please post your concerns, ergo and safety issues so I can use this blog and present to people down at the region. No voice will be unheard I promise you!.
  6. They want you to quit, retire or take buy outs, Ford wants to reduce it's workforce by another 30% by 2014 or sooner. 8 more plants are slated to close in 2014, but I can't seem to find out which ones from my source at the glass house. Funny how our profit paid for their nice west side window covers of the F-150 truck!. I love looking at it when I drive by, but my pocket is light from it and Bill Ford. Jr's pocket is 42 million heavier. Go figure. BTW, our union needs to get rid of these temp workers or make them full scale wage and get rid of this two tier wage system. Yes it's saving the company millions per week, but if our union was doing what it's been hired to do (by us) then we wouldn't be having this crap. Also turn all these ACH plants back to a blue oval and allow people to return if your not selling them!. Lets get on the ball IUAW!.
  7. I love how some of these people claim to hang out with international's and go to events with the higher ups and then come back and claim they know all this crap about what's going to happen or what's coming down the pike, then it all turns out to be false info!. Do you honestly think international members are going to hang out with a bunch of lowly rat workers and feed them information? No I don't think so. If you have a friend down at the Region or up top somewhere, call him up and ask him 5 questions, I bet you get an "I don't know" or "I'll get back to you on that" on all 5. That's bad odds I'd rather spend my money on Black Jack. Lets just admit that people don't know anything about anything and go on a marry way already.
  8. Just a refresher, your health & safety phone numbers are: Tony Siek - 313-337-1948 Bob Selberg 313-248-3433 Mark Buckley 313-845-0458 Because these numbers are already published I feel I can post them. Can anyone besides myself step up to the plate and call these people to complain about your safety issues, I'm not doing it anymore I have to deal with rude ass team leaders that think they are supervisors and think they can tell you what to do and dictate where you work. I won't mention any names. I would ask for ergonomic information (phone numbers and names) being that I don't know anyone here at body but I don't think talking to those people will do any good. Your right, keep the line moving outside the safety standards. Problem is everyone agreeing to do this is hurting others in the process and new people that come to the plant. Remember DTP is getting over 100 more people!. Do you think these people are going to want to do these jobs? hell no. DTP is nothing but a turnover system setup by the local and company to get people off their pay rolls. I'm talking buyouts and terminations or at least it looks like that, I may be wrong, because I will admit I'm not always right.
  9. I don't claim to be smarter then anyone, and yes I am a union brother, and no I do not attend union meetings anymore cause it's a waste of time especially at DTP and for the most part I don't care about the little shi*. The main things I care about (and lets get this straight) are people upholding the current contract and doing their jobs. Their jobs are related to the contract, so if they are not doing their jobs yes get them the F out. As for liking the truth, when have we ever been told the truth by our IUAW? hell If I can't get straight answers or even see my reps to ask them anything why the hell wouldn't I be pissed? Come election time you just keep voting in your usual players and see what happens. Here is what I look for in UAW reps: Reps that listen to you Reps that write stuff down when you talk to them Reps that come back to you with answers Reps that know grievance procedures and actually follow them Reps that keep you informed or walk around the line (Not reps that can't get off their golf cart for 1 minute all night) Reps that (if anything) act like they are interested in your issues Reps that are not afraid to go up to a foreman or supervisor to enforce the contract Reps that actually come to work on time and leave when their shift is done Reps that don't lie Reps that bring you information within a timely manner (1 hour should be sufficient). Reps that make sure you get paid and not screwed on overtime Reps that give you a copy of the agreement when asked I can go on and on but these are some basic things I look for and they will get my vote every time. I am not against the union or in plant union, I just want to see the contract and rules held fair for everyone.
  10. Well it happened tonight just like I knew it would eventually and I'm sure it's not the only time it did, I've been telling everyone on here for a month now on how important it is to back people up on the line regarding the proper safety equipment at one's job station. Because there are no floor mats at the door hanging/loading stations at Body someone twisted their ankle real bad and was hurt tonight. It's really is a shame that the committee people and safety at Body can't make sure that the operators are provided with small basic things to prevent injuries on the line (And Medical wonder's why they are swamped) . All they can do is come down and write it up, smile and walk away! This pisses me off and further proves my point as to why there should be proper flooring down instead of hardwood with 3/4" 90 degree edges instead of the proper stuff. For those of you that don't know what type of mats I'm referring too (and management/safety may want to also refer to this), I'll draw you a photo because all the ACH plants are installing these now: Lets get the sh*t together Body and at least get some floor mats down in those areas so that people don't get hurt and also so that people don't go home with sore feet. If I wind up twisting my ankle, I'll be pissed. Thank you and have a nice day UAW!..
  11. Hey dumb dumb, do you honestly believe it's at the arbitration level? I think not, this grievance was pushed under the rug months ago and the company doesn't want to honor it and this is why you haven't heard anything. These arbitrators are corrupt anyway that grievance (if it still exists) is sitting under someone's desk or chair leg, the union is holding on to it as a bargaining chip, they don't care about the worker getting their dues, the union only cares about itself getting their dues. I have asked many times where the hell this grievance is and no rep could ever give me a straight up answer. Here is where your union money is going (right down the toilet)
  12. I bought a new street sweeper machine with all the bells and whistles strictly for management. Oh it's a Model 500X and runs great, it sucks up the shit in the plant real nice and also worthless UAW reps.
  13. How bout another sign up to go back to Saline to make it the home plant if your going to do all his crap!. Get those f-ing temp workers out, most of them were out of Saline then your UAW slack asses allowed them all to come back taking our temp jobs away and making us return to basic unit. This is f*ucked up and I'm tired of it. I want to work close to home and I want the right to go back to Saline or my original hire in plant SRP!.. If your not closing the f-ing plants make them Ford and allow those people (myself included) to go back! stop this dicking around IUAW before the membership decides to strike. Hell IUAW won't care, the'll be at home roasting their dogs on the BBQ and drinking their beers together laughing while some smuck passes out picket signs and $200 checks. F-ing tards!... this makes me sick!
  14. If you thought I was serious about buying GM vehicles then your mistaken. The only GM vehicle I own is a Corvette and it's my donor car for my GTM FFR I'm building, other then that I drive Fords. I hope something is being done about fans at least somewhere in the plant, a little progress is better then no progress at all. As far as posting my photo and my last name no that would not be cool and could get you banned from the forum I would assume, but if someone would like to see my photo they can email me at my website, and I'll send them my old union campaign flyer photo of me not a problem. Not that I'm going to run, but Its of my best side, so I like to use that one the most cause I really look good in it. In about 1500 hours I'll be driving down Michigan Ave and when you see this car you'll know it's me bud!.. Although it might be next summer cause they are not getting these roads done soon enough!.
  15. Some guy was probably going to kill himself in that area at the time or was thinking about it. Although sometimes maintenance people hang cords on hilos while they are using them, they may forget to take them off and put them away. It only takes one person to say the wrong thing to someone and that's how things get started. Here is an example.. If you say you have a gun and your going to go shoot something this weekend and someone over hears this, you could get in trouble. That person may not know your talking to someone else about going hunting.
