  1. It doesn't change the fact that it is a shallow way to think. Flash over substance is generally something that creates problems in the end. My first car, by choice, was a Ford Tempo. That doesn't exactly say image-obsessed and I'm proud of that fact. Function before form, I say.
  2. In other words, a good number of kids are image-obsessed. With today's over-commercialized world is that any surprise? I know never worried about whether or not my parents drove "cool" cars.
  3. There really is do doubt that Toyota will be able to recover from this. It isn't like there is a shortage of people who are loyal Toyota owners. Also, regardless of what some people insist, Toyota still does make a reliable vehicle.
  4. This all shows how far behind the times Ford is when it comes to providing tracking information to customers. Given the weekly tracking updates that cyberdman has so graciously supplied, I have been able to do some detailed tracking myself. I was able to track the train my Fiesta was placed on from the production plant to a port in Veracruz. From there I was able to track the ship it was on as it traveled up the coast to Maryland. The last update from cyberdman was that Bavarian Motor Transport had it, and that marks the first time I haven't been able to track it. If I can gather daily information starting with weekly updates and a little bit of effort, Ford should easily be able to automate it for the customer. After all, if cyberdman can get the information, the information is out there and could be provided in a form similar to UPS or FedEx tracking.
  5. I'll give you that it is great, but can you call it a "thing?" It isn't really something tangible as much as it is a concept.
  6. Is this guy serious? I've seen frivolous lawsuits before, but this is crazy!
  7. Okay, I'm sure this will mark me as a geek. Then again, I already call myself one. I would add Atari to the list of the best things about the USA. If it weren't for them, who knows if or when video games would have actually become popular?
  8. Disregard post. The vehicle is in at the dealer and I will be picking it up in the next couple of days.

  10. I've gotta say that I'm on the side that says GM killed them. They started to move away from their nice, quirky designs and became somewhat bland not too long after the buyout. Just look at the difference between the earlier Saab 900 and the newer version! Then of course there was the 9-5, a car which I made the mistake of owning. If things really do completely fall apart and Saab goes under, all I can say is RIP. A great second chance would be missed.
  11. Definitely no more than someone's mock-up. Still, something like this wouldn't be too bad as long as it doesn't touch any existing Ford nameplates. Give it a new name and I could see something like this going somewhere.

  13. Assembled in the USA, yes. I hope you don't think those most of the parts in those came from the USA, though, because they definitely did not. We don't manufacture them here anymore. Don't forget for one second which administration this country was under when the worst of this mess started. I'll give you a hint: it was before Obama and after Clinton. That's a solid fact. We were all there when it happened.
  14. All I can say is that I'm sick of all the lies and half-truths the "conservatives" are pushing constantly these days. This forum, unfortunately, is full of that stuff.
