  1. Hello all... Just wanted to let everyone know that me and my wife just picked up our 2013 Ford Explorer XLT from the dealership. It's blue with the light stone leather interior. We got the towing package, comfort package, voice nav system and powerlift tailgate.. Synced up both phones already, and still trying to familiarize myself with everything. If anyone has any tips or advice, we would appreciate it.
  2. Got the final price... No fees! $75 doc fee and a $6.50 battery fee. No dealer fees or anything like that! Thanks again for your help on this!
  3. Quick question about the comfort package on the 2013 XLT... Are the leather seats perforated like in the Limited trim or just regular leather? The regular leather tends to be a little bit stiff compared to the perforated leather in the Limited. Thanks again! If everything goes well I'll have one by this weekend!
  4. So if they try to charge a prep fee or dealer fee... That shouldn't be correct?
  5. Ok... You are right.... I got the invoice and kbb doesn't include the advertising assessment and fuel charge... When I take those out of the invoice price, I am getting the exact invoice number that KBB is coming up with. Ok, so the difference between the invoice and plan is coming out to be just under $1,400. That sounds more like it! Now on to my next questions! Is it normal to pay the adv assesment and fuel charges with the a, z, or d plan? What should I expect on other "fees," of course excluding tax, tag and title? I believe you state a $100 doc fee... I have read elsewhere that they supposedly raised this a couple months ago to like $250ish, is this true? Thanks again for all your help!
  6. Hello there, FINALLY got a number back on the Explorer XLT... It is coming in just $450 less than the invoice... Does that sound right? Doesn't to me! I believe that the D plan should be about 3-4% less than invoice, plus $100. I didn't know if maybe the D plan isn't as discounted on the 2013 models? What do you guys think? I left a message asking for the invoice, I guess that will tell the truth, I just wanted to see what you guys thought. Thanks!
  7. According to the Ford website, I'm pretty sure that brother-in-law is considered family... Mainly because if they won't sell me the vehicle, I would just buy through my wife, his sister. I am almost 100% sure that the Z plan is not correct, as you stated. As far as finding out if its the real plan, how do I do that... Especially with ordering a vehicle. I believe that the dealer invoice states the Plan Pricing at the bottom of the invoice. But what about when ordering a car? How can I verify that it is in fact the D plan? The first quote he gave me was around 4% less than the invoice on an Explorer in Ginger Ale(Not a fan), but I am having a hard time finding a 2012 in a color I like with the towing package. So i figured I would just order a new one with exactly what I want.
  8. Hello all... I am looking into ordering a 2013 Ford Explorer XLT. I am looking at ordering it through my brother-in-law who is a Ford Dealership Salesman. I have a few questions regarding this process as I have never bought a vehicle through any of the Ford plans, so I am wanting some clarifications. 1. Is the D plan the correct plan? I have done some research and found the the D plan is for the Ford Dealership employees, but my brother-in-law's manager is telling him that they are quoting me for the Z plan price?! 2. What is the process on ordering a vehicle through the D plan? Do I go through my brother-in-law or his manager or can I go through the D plan site? I am not getting too many answers on this and I have trust issues when it comes to dealers... Not that I don't trust my brother-in-law, he's a great guy, I just don't trust his boss. 3. Is it even possible to order a 2013 Explorer through the D plan yet? I wasn't sure if they didn't allow you to purchase them through the plans since they have just come out. Any other advice or suggestions would be great. I know that dealers are very good at what they do and I would like to be as educated as possible on this!
