  1. So I hope this is the right section for this, if not sorry in advance. I am considering leasing my next car for my wife using an X-Plan Pin (17 Escape). I walked away from the deal as presented by the salesman, but might try to go back again to see if we can meet in a better place. I told him upfront I wanted to purchase using my X-plan pin but he said the magic "I can get a better price". I guess what I want to know is under X-Plan, fees are restricted to $100 documentation fee and $275 administrative fee. What other fees are allowed under X-Plan specifically in regards to a lease? Is it only the ~$600 lease acquisition fee? I can't recall all of them, but they had several other fees listed as well that made the final price more than what I was expecting going in. Also, I think they made the price of the car look better by including the $2250 RCL into the price, but not subtracting that from the X-Plan price. Also, he told me that personal property taxes are collected through the lease (I live in a state with personal property taxes on vehicles) and included in the monthly payment. From my research, in states that have this, Ford bills only the national average ($17 per $1000 value, though that was 2013). Is this the case?
  2. Funny story, Flood Ford is one of the dealers local to me (and who I bought my 13 Fusion from). I knew the price of their ESP before buying and the finance manager tried getting me to pay almost $400 ove that price. I told him I would just buy from them online and he looked at me like "oh crap". Needless to say, he came down to their internet price lol.
  3. I guess it's good when a Ford is being compared against a BMW or Audi. Kind of hard to "match" cars that base pricing starts at your top trim models pricing though. lol.
  4. Isn't the new Mazda6 on a new platform -SkyActiv? Or is that platform just a modified version of the one shared with the previous gen Fusion/Mazda6?
  5. Probably too late in this case . I sent a PM, but will post here as well for future posters who may have a similar question. I did not go through a dealership directly (my decision based on what I thought was convenience at the time). The lane keeping system did eventually seem to "calibrate itself". Not entirely sure how, but it did. Auto high beams were still a bit wonky so I did take the dealership which they checked and recalibrated to factory spec for me. In the future, if your insurance allows it, I would just go through the dealership to not have to bring it in again for calibration. At the very least, if you go non OEM you will probably want to take it in to get calibrated. The company I went through confirmed all the options, including the sound proofing in the windshield. Car is just as quiet as factory.
  6. Too bad I don't know anyone who works for Ford. Thinking of trading in my '13 Fusion. We have a Mazda as well, but will probably keep that one.
  7. Looks kind of close to the gingerale color offered on the '13.
  8. Wouldn't Android Auto be using Google Maps...since you know, it's Google? Unless you just meant CarPlay won't let you use Google Maps.
  9. Pffft...who cares about the 325HP turbo v6. This is what really upsets me that I bought a '13 and didn't wait for the '17 sport...ambient lighting in the cupholder.
  10. The hood cutout is different as well. Obviously more practical in the production version vs the concept.
  11. I mean, i've had them come on as cars are approaching, but that is because they road was curving so my car couldn't see the other headlights. So there are times were for a split second it turns on but goes right off again. I'd say it works flawlessly 95% of the time. The best is when they shut off because they reflect off of road signage causing too much ambient light. The only other time I had a problem was after getting my windshield replaced, and the camera was not calibrated. I was driving through a construction area down to one lan with jersey barriers on either side, no street lights on the stretch of highway. Driving behind the car and must have gotten too close where being out of calibration caused the tail lights to disappear to the camera.
  12. RTFM!!!! Why is the feature not available (line markings are gray) when I can see the lane markings on the road? Transitioning between no lane markings to lane markings or vice versa Standing water on the road Faint lane markings (partial yellow lane markings on concrete roads) Lane width too narrow or too wide Camera not calibrated after a windshield replacement When driving on tight roads or on uneven roads So how exactly does one calibrate the camera? Or is this a Ford service trip?
  13. Everything is plugged in, I double checked that. When I press the button the gray lines appear, but it almost never turns green (when it sees the lane markings). I say almost because once or twice it flashed one side green but did not stay on. So it is "working" just not correctly. That is why I was thinking it's an alignment issue.
  14. So I had to have my windshield replaced, and now my Lane Departure is not working. I have the company that installed it coming back out to look at it early next week (they are completely booked the next few days). Any thoughts on what it could have been? I'm figuring it's just an alignment issue. One downside of all the tech in the car is the complication of it all.
  15. Whatchu talking 'bout? Haven't you ever seen Fast & Furious?
