  1. I got my truck without them.......hoping I'll not think I need to add something just so the switches are functional. Six months in to the new truck......haven't found a thing I need to add except the 5th wheel hitch and the Delta tool chest.
  2. I have the 2012 F-250 Supercab (not to be confused with Super Crew cab) FX-4 with 20" wheel option, 3.55 electronic locking differential and Longbed......all of these options will make a difference in mileage (rear diff., wheel size, bed size, etc.). I've been accused on more than one occassion of being an aggressive driver (also makes a huge difference). Empty (with my Delta tool chest loaded and my 5th wheel hitch and a heavy duty rubber bed mat all in the bed of the truck).....I get 15 1/2 mpg. here in the city. Pulling my 5th wheel and the truck bed loaded (two generators, folding camp table, air compressor, etc.) I get approx. 13 mpg.
  3. Just a bit smoother ride.....especially when loaded. I remember when I was a kid.....the Ford Falcon ( think it was a 62 or 63 if I remember right) went from 13" to 14"......thought we died and went to heaven. My 04 F-350 had the 18" wheels....my 12 F-250 has the 20" wheels......feels like I died and went to heaven.
  4. I'm happy to hear this! Just last night I bought a 2012 F-250 Lariet 4x4 CC to pull a 5th wheel with. I actually did the trailer shopping first (I previously owned an 04 F-350 Lariet dually that I loved!). I joined an RV consumer's web site that doesn't accept any advertising from anybody. They're much like the consumer reports of the RV industry and go by owners response, warranty claims, their own inspections of each unit, etc. My goal was a four season (that means it had to have the heavier insulation, dual pane windows, heated holding tanks, etc. to protect it when it's down below freezing) 5th wheel in the $30k-$35k range that has the highest ratings in reliability and value (they judge both). That came out to be the 2013 Fox Mountain 235RLS (built by Northwood). This trailer has a total dry weight of 7,020 lbs.(I'm guessing approx. 8,000 lbs by the time the batteries, water tank full, propane full and all of our stuff) with a hitch weight of 1,410 lbs. and a payload capacity of 1,480 lbs. and can be found on the net for around $30k but the MSRP is $36,401. So, I'm about ready for my retirement and looking forward to this all season 5th wheel (want to do Yellowstone in the winter, watch the wolves play in the snow....hunt for food, etc.). The mileage that you're getting in yours exceeds what I was getting in my Nissan Frontier 4x4.
