  1. Take it to D and V Auto Body. They are not cheap, but they are the best hands down.
  2. Not only that, but they didn't give us a sensor AND you can't visually inspect the level. Brilliant !! Is there a dip stick????
  3. I'm interested in the reprogrammed tranny. Did they just do a re-flash of the same old software or actually update it? I ask because mine seems funny every now and then. This is my first auto tranny EVER so to me it doesn't really shift all that smooth.
  4. Oh no, not this again. The TSB performed on mine for the squeaky brakes has so far worked. No more sounds.
  5. http://www.ebay.com/itm/221214707636?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 Use this seller. Excellent service.
  6. That is a great question. I'm sure any recalls would be taken care of, as well software updates. But as far as the little annoyances that make up many of the TSB's, you got me.
  7. Not that I could tell. Everything is fine. Just very strange for a simple cabin filter replacement.
  8. Yep. After you disconnect all 8 connectors(which I labeled in order) you then have to remove the chassis they were connected to. What makes this even more mind-boggling is disconnecting the BCM does some weird things to the electronics of the vehicle. For example, the radio was on a random station when i reconnected everything. Also, while removing the connectors, the HVAC vents were going a little haywire. Seemed to reset itself after I reconnected everything and started the vehicle.
  9. Jim! I'm just a doctor, not a damn Ford engineer! (Star Trek again) It's dead Jim!
  10. I had that noise for about half a day. It was just the other day, the hottest day of the spring so far. If I reached my hand up and put pressure on the black plastic molding that is roughly in the center, it would stop. Then it went away as fast as it appeared. My guess is temperature swings, expansion and contraction.
  11. OK, lets all look at this from a Vulcan point of view, ie logical (saw the new Star Trek this weekend, sorry). Out of all the fluids in our cars the few that we run out of the most often in order of frequency is 1) gasoline ; 2) wiper fluid ; etc... This is provided your car is in good working order and not leaking oil, brake fluid, coolant, etc... But we have sensors for most of them, except the one we run out of the second to most often next to gas. Hmmm, go figure. I think we should of had a senser, at least for the SEL trim level and above. I mean come on, rain sensing wipers but no low fluid sensor!!!
  12. Yes, please keep us updated. If you can, when you get of it back after the work is performed, scan your work ticket and post it here(leaving out anything personnal of course). That would be awesome.
  13. OK, so I was curious. I had to see how bad and if I had one. HOLY CRAP!! What a PITA!! I don't think the dealer is going to offer to change your cabin filter voluntarily. Took me like 20 minutes cause I didn't want to break/scratch anything. And that took some concentration. Never in my life have I seen a more difficult filter replacement, and my assessment is including the engine air filter. But I learned a few things. Not sure how some of the fasteners/clips are going to stand up. With 14,000 miles on my Escape, my filter was pretty dirty. But I've seen alot worse.
  14. OK, so has anyone actually taken out/seen the cabin filter? I ask because on another forum they said it is standard procedure that vehicles come from the factory WITHOUT a filter installed. I find this hard to swallow. I have also been told that depending on the trim level you have will decide if you have one installed at the factory or not. So if you own an S or SE, I would check.
  15. My drivers side rear door handle is the most finnicky of all mine. All the others are near 100% of the time when I grab the handle to automatically unlock the door. But that one handle, well, sometimes it just doesn't want to work until like the 3rd, 4th or 5th try. I'm not sure if the system needs a second or two to "reset" or not and I'm being impatient.
  16. After talking to the service advisor, who went back and talked to the tech, I never got a straight up definitive answer. The service advisor just kept talking about their process and how the Quick-lane works and how the oil is allocated, blah, blah, blah. After that, they kept me waiting for 20 minutes while they "investigated" what was pulled from the stock. I actually left the dealership for about an hour and came back. I just paid my bill and left. My service ticket had been changed and now says 5W-30. Big deal. He just re-typed it. I will never know what they put in because I'm not going back there. The whole point of this is that the 2.0 ecoboost is one of the few engines in the Ford lineup that calls for 5W-30. Just making folks aware that mistakes might happen.
  17. Just wanted to report that I had TSB 13-04-25 performed for my brake squeal issue and so far it seems to have worked. Silence is golden.
  18. Ha, quoting myself. Only because I got my Escape back from its scheduled maintenance and guess what, they did it again. The ticket said 6 qts of 5W-20. This is after I even wrote in the comments to "Please use 5W-30". Needless to say I was there for awhile talking to some people. Sad. On a positive note, my brakes don't squeak anymore because I asked them to perform TSB 13-04-25.
  19. Wow, I looked, and looked, and looked until I was seeing spots. I just don't think its in there. Good thing I know how to change my earl.
  20. I looked for awhile yesterday and gave up. I will try again later.
  21. I read the Remote Start section as now being offered on the S and SE trim levels. Same technology. But we wil see. And I would be tickled pink if I could get the hands free liftgate added to my existing tow package. I won't hold my breath on that one. And I'm perfectly happy with the rear sensors that beep. A rear facing camera is not high on my list.
  22. Could not find it either. hmmm...
  23. Hell, thats not too shabby then. I mean, I get 28 mpg when doing 50-55 mph on the highway. If I do 70-75 mph, I'm sure it would drop to 24-25 mpg. I will have the opportunity to test it out this weekend. Going on a road trip.
