  1. Doesn't chalk up well for Ford reliability: Mike seems to have handled the miles pretty well. What about the car? He reports that the engine has never been cracked open yet uses only about a quart of oil every 8000 miles. The dual-clutch automatic transmission (DCT) hasn’t been nearly as maintenance-free. Its clutch packs were replaced twice, at 347,000 and 545,000 miles. (Actually, the second time, it proved much quicker and no more expensive to go ahead and replace the entire transmission with a nearly new, $600 unit.) Other repairs included the main computer, fuel pump (it was making noises, Mike didn’t wait for it to fail), throttle-body motor, starter, alternator, coolant-recovery tank, radiator cooling fan, HVAC blower motor, body-control module, and the A/C compressor (“it was getting a little noisy”).
  2. Gah Ford does it again... Poor factory inspection on vehicles prior to delivery. Maybe you should stop wasting time with a 'diversity workforce' and actually hire people that can do the job right.
  3. Hmm? My relay is connected to the left side, so turning on the left signal during the day will turn off both headlights even with the capacitor / warning canceller. I'm pretty sure all the Fusion's do it. I usually just turn my light's to the 2nd setting every time I get in the car and they stay on with turn signaling.
  4. So almost 3 years of owning a Fusion Hybrid (and now Energi) I was completely fed up with HID... 3 different kits, 2 replacement bulbs, 5 same results. They just don't last. I get about 2-3 months out of them and the bulbs go, 35w or 55w didn't seem to make a difference... Maybe I drive a lot, maybe the kits are crap, maybe its Canada's continuously variable weather... It didn't really seem to matter which ballast I used, the expensive digital ones or the lesser analog 35W ones, they all lit the same. The exception is the digial ones would self restart when the bulbs were dying. So paying more for expensive kits you're probably just throwing your money away. I've moved on... To LED. Because of the narrow and near impossible opening in the Fusion's headlight assembly there isn't much you can do in terms of LED's with fan's on the rear... They just won't fit. I found these about 3 months ago and installed them: Absolutely great. They fit in and the light is brighter than the 35W HID, but not as much as the 55W. The only real problem was the rubber cap has to have a hole cut out so the heat spreaders are outside of the housing. I used high temperature silicon to seal the hole so nothing's going to melt in the summer. Hopefully I'll never need to pull open that freaking front end again!!! Another picture so you can see how they are: You can pick em up from Aliexpres.com http://www.aliexpress.com/wholesale?catId=0&initiative_id=SB_20151222235655&SearchText=R3+LED+H11 I'll never go back to HID... ugh. Edit: FYI: I used my existing relay harness + capacitor / warning canceller. If you have DRL for some reason in both of my Fusion's the left hand bulb will loose power when shifting out of park and into D.
  5. There's a reason people keep buying japense cars... This is probably one of them.
  6. I'd probably pay $1,000 - $2,000 USD for the APIM update if someone were able to program it to my VIN / feature set (fully loaded energi in canada)... I'm sure there will be someone who can do it considering the profit potential with millions of MFT units out there that are probably pin compatible.
  7. Great I missed this one by about 2 weeks on my Energi
  8. Gotta love CVT in the Hybrid / Energi Plug-in Getting into a conventional x speed transmission feels like I'm going back 20 years!
  9. The car was left on an still drove afterward. To be honest not 100% sure if I liked that or not... Damage was to the front left so where the inverter is all that voltage...
  10. Surprisingly 911 assist was on and it did not work. Maybe my intervention of opening the door or calling myself (but that wasn't for 2 mins later). It did honk the horn every minute or so and the blinkers were flashing which was nice. Bought a 2015 energi fully loaded - everything even the block heater on a plugin hybrid car You know I wished for no problems but... They're waiting on a transmission fluid hose
  11. Thanks guessed as much, just hoping there's no additional dimples or protrusions to keep it in place.
  12. Hi, Does anyone know how the rear spoiler is attached? Nuts and bolts I would guess, prefer the look without the spoiler but there is no delete option anymore. Even rear trunks from junk yards are still $800 CAD. New from ford is $650 but that's unpainted. Probably way cheaper to remove it, fill in the holes and paint.
  13. Because they moved to physical buttons...
  14. So any idea what the 2016 cluster looks like with Sony audio? Couldn't find it online at all.
