  1. The other day I was driving and I had a 2' x 1' piece of metal lodge into my underbody insulation. Luckily I was able to pull over quickly and yank it out but it did leave a nice slit/hole in the insulation. I assume its not the insulation is there for noise purposes only but I'd like to patch it so in the long term it doesn't have any issues or rip completely. I currently have it taped up with duct tape. Does anyone else have any other suggestions to patch the insulation, maybe more permanently? On a side note, I got my first dent today, in all places its on my C-piller above the drivers side rear passenger door. No idea how it got there. Does anyone know of any good dent removal kits that actually work?
  2. I've had a similar delay with my ignition every once in a while with my Fusion. I haven't decided if its something to worry about or not but was very odd the first time it happened.
  3. I have the 1.6 and i've been getting terrible mileage because I sit in dc traffic everyday- low 20's mpg average. But this past weekend I took a 65 mile primarily highway trip and averaged 34mpg. I was actually averaging 38-39 mpg the first 30 miles until I went from 65 to 75 mph on the cruise control.
  4. Correct I have the backup sensors only and I believe it is a foot away when it flat lines. Its nice to have some room for error in the event you are backing up fast.
  5. RedFusion you are correct. This is a while driving noise and isn't necessarily a popping noise but its a noise, trying to figure out whether I should go get it checked out. As to your roof line, I have noticed the no condensation on the support beams but haven't not noticed any dents/dips. I'll have to go look later tonight.
  6. Something is definitely wrong with my tank as well. I have a little over 1000 miles on the car and it only puts in about 11 gallons of gas when filling up which causes it to drop down almost to 3/4 tank. However, my biggest concern is that I always hear this soft dun-dun-dun/popping noise from the rear of the car. It is not very loud but now that I notice it I always notice. It only occurs after I have just filled up and it lasts for 30 miles or so. Its very odd. Has anyone else had a similar problem?
  7. Looks like the fix has been identified. http://www.marketwatch.com/story/ford-produces-fix-in-voluntary-safety-recall-of-2013-escapes-2013-fusions-with-16-liter-engines-2012-12-10 -Seems like best case scenario in terms of nothing major they have to do
  8. I think the appropriate thing to do by Ford is to extend the warranty on the motors
  9. You got it right. Dealer email was an error. Something to do with Ford wanted to track the cars and how they had to close out the ticket and it automatically sent me an email saying my service was complete and the car was ready. Either way I was not happy at first because I drove an hour out of my way. But I think the worst news was when the lady at the dealer was like I wouldn't be surprised if these weren't fixed until the end of January. Now I think she was just saying that and hadn't heard anything from Ford.
  10. Just got an email from my dealer saying that service was complete. I had just dropped it off yesterday so whatever it was it must have been a fast fix.
  11. Well said. I took my fusion 1.6 in today that I just bought last Tuesday. Yes I was bummed that I only was able to drive the car one week (which I absolutely love for the record), I understand that recalls and issues are something that comes with a total redesigned car and a relatively new motor.
  12. I just picked up mine Tuesday night.. and I do not want to take it to the dealer to sit there since they dont have a solution yet. For the record absolutely love the car, exceeded all expectations
  13. I have ordered my fusion but still have yet to test drive one. I ordered a 1.6 but wanted to see if anyone has driven all three of the engines or at least 2. I like power but I can't seem justify an extra grand for the 2.0. I basically want to confirm that I am making the right choice with the 1.6.
  14. Yea I agree with you about the whole process just worries me if/when I get my car there still wont be issues with it. I have a unique situation where instead of placing an acutal order, the dealer (a friend of a friend) ordered one as a regular retail order based on my specification. I know my car was built on 9/23 but dealer still has yet to give me any timetable except that the initial ETA way back when was 10/8. I asked him today if he could find me a similar car from another dealer because my current car is on its last leg, needs new tires etc..and im tired of waiting. But I am still waiting to hear back.
  15. Parked next to black se fusion with appearance package tonight and it looked sweet. It was the first time I saw any 2013 close and it is very impressive. It was tough to look inside because of the lighting and the front end was against a wall but I was always concerned about the way the rear of the car looked but it looked much better in person. The 18in 5 spoke wheels look really good as well. Initially I was bummed when I heard the 1.6 wasn't getting dual exhaust but the single exhaust tip looks somewhat classy as well. All in all made me that much more excited to get my car.
