  1. Another example is, again, on my GTI I could go in and tell the module to either turn off DRL or turn them on or tell the module to use the fog lights as DRL or the parking lights as DRL or change the brightness of the DRL and other lights, or tell the module to use the outer ring of the tail lights as parking lights or the inside ring as parking and the outer as brakes. Or vice versa. It was all very advanced and convenient. Turning on or off window control from the key fob. This was all controllable.
  2. Its not really all that far fetched as it makes diagnostics easier for many manufacturers. Its like telling a control module to send the signals over let's say, four wires in a different manner than the last. Its actually pretty smart. Why mess about swapping wires when you can tell a module to use the wires differently.
  3. I have a hunch that ford may be finally using a type of CECM (Central Electronics Control Module) setup like VAG cars (VW/Audi) and there maybe a way to change the coding in that module. When I had my 2006 VW GTI I was able to use a Ross Tech obd II cordand laptop and software called VAG-COM to access the CECM and change the coding for my tail lights that were LED (came with halogen from the factory) to light up in different ways. That being said I had previously researched this for my fusion and the only seemingly possible avenue I came up with was something called Ford Module Programming but to my knowledge is only dealer attainable. I may be wrong on all this but being that this is 2013 and we now have a euro designed fusion it only makes sense to me.
  4. Although I've never had the car honk at me while it was not running.
  5. I have also had this happen multiple times, and one time it happened, i happened to look at the left dash display and caught the "no key detected" which was gone by the time the door was fully open. Not sure why this happens either.
  6. I'm wondering if there are any parts dept employees on here that may be willing to gather some comparative information on parts of a 2013 Fusion and say, a 2013 Taurus SHO?? specifically, I'm looking to see if someone can measure the axle hubs between these two cars. from what i can see on fordparts.com the mounts for the hubs are different but I'm wondering if somehow the fusion hubs have room to be safely drilled for a new bolt pattern, be it 5x114.3 or 5x112. OR if (probably not) the taurus hubs can be pressed into the fusions hub housing. anyway, i'm just hoping the fusions hubs have room for drilling as that would be the easiest i think. thanks!
  7. I've seen that kit and wondered but I'd like to see comparison pictures and more reviews on that before i'd consider it. He's actually referring to a high output LED bulb kit, not an HID kit.
  8. Agreed. Plus you don't have to mess about tediously peeling the over spray from the rest of the grill
  9. I did the bars on mine and the easiest way i can say personally for me was to remove the bumper to get the bars off.
  10. as mentioned on the other forum i fail to see the differences in shape and length on the lights, i do however see how an optical illusion may be affecting what you're seeing as the fusion has the amber side reflector and the mondeo does not, thus making more open space in the mondeo light creating an illusion that the mondeo light is longer but i don't see any physical size difference between the two. but this is of course just judging from images online. until we actually get some more detail factual information we won't know for sure.
  11. I'd LOVE to see how your lights "look just like the Mondeo". ;-)
  12. Plus i have not seen any advisement that they are simply plug and play, so probably some programming/coding needed.
  13. I noticed a large dent on my roof in the same spot, ironically days later it was gone on its own. When i noticed it it was in the 30s outside then it warmed up and was in the 60s-70s the next day so quite a temp change over night, possibly why its gone. Either way, its gone.
  14. It would be nice for the euro mondeo led headlights to be an option in the u.s.
