  1. Cyberdman, Picked up the car 4-25 and love it! We now have 637 miles (169 EV) at 42.0 mpg average - and I'm thrilled! Thanks so much for your updates! It made the waiting a lot more fun. At the dealers! Our C-Max is home!
  2. Cyberdman, I would appreciate a status update for VIN 1FADP5AU6DL535761 Thanks in advance for your service!
  3. Cyberman, Can you please provide status for VIN 1FADP5AU6DL535761 Thank you and have a nice day and week!
  4. This idea might seem crazy but why don't they make a truck that has passenger/cargo space split left/right instead of front/back. Think about it, you often want to haul things longer than the bed but, generally, not wider. The cargo space would be split between a full length "side" bed extending over the right wheels (full length of truck) combined with the regular "back" bed behind a, now more narrow, cab. Sure, this design presents some challenges but there are many opportunities as well. You no longer need ladder/pipe racks to haul 20' stuff. The narrow cab would reduce wind drag significantly. You can have front/back seats for up to four people. Behind the second seat the cab would even continue all the way to the back of the truck with a narrow width, maybe 18 inches. This enclosed space becomes a "trunk" where you put tools, or whatever, and can lock. Access doors are over and behind the rear wheel and open on left side of truck. Now, from the driver's side, the truck can be styled to look any way you like, SUV, hatch, whatever. You wouldn't even know its a truck. When hauling tall cargo in the "back" bed, you can easily strap it to the main cab and this new side cab (trunk). Space on the right side below the "side" bed and between the wheels could be enclosed storage accessible from both inside the cab and outside (locked doors). Just think how convenient that could be! The right mirror could be a camera mounted just below the level of the side bed so that "problem" is solved. Perhaps one of you with CAD could whip up a sketch.
  5. At least Ford is on the www.lightsout.org "Friends" list!
  6. I would think a different sensor would be needed for sure (needs to sense out to hundreds of feet) but would be surprised to see it as after-market. I would love ACC as I use CC all the time.
  7. I would consider only a 21% drop in capacity after 300,000 miles as lasting the life of the car. http://img.deusm.com/designnews/2013/01/256425/205836_659038.jpg
  8. Makes sense. For something new, seen the B-Max? http://fordbmax.com/ But, I assume, not in the US. Why does Europe get all the cool little cars???
  9. Is something new coming in '14 that I don't know about?
  10. I certainly agree. With only 5 to 10 miles of EV you still need the ICE most of the time while at 50 or so you're spending an awful lot on battery. We are waiting on a C-Max now. I really wanted an Energi as it would have done most local trips on EV alone. But the lost luggage space and extra cost associated with options we didn't want held us back. It will be great when new car platforms get designed around the the batteries in order to optimize space and the options/packages are offered just like standard models - start with a base model and add what you want.
  11. And why can't we update the name "station wagon", anyway? We rarely haul things to the train station and its not a wagon. Its only a bit more worn than "minivan" or "hardtop"! I vote for "estate". (Or "woodie" if you dress them up properly!)
  12. We ordered our new C-Max on March 4 and now have the VIN. Can't wait! Really looking forward to great mileage in a spacious, comfortable car that can climb the mountains in style and regen all the way down. Our "baby" is White Platinum SE 200A with panoramic roof and winter package.
  13. Thanks for these instructions inkblot. Our C-Max is on order and the dealer just sent the VIN last Friday. I had learned some of this stuff but didn't know about ETIS. Tried it just now and there it was with the 30.11.0002 "date"!
