  1. I have a 2014 Fusion with the 2.0 Ecoboost. I've had this issue for a while there the car makes what sounds like a low rattle whenever its out of Park and idling or in low speed Reverse. The noise goes away as soon as the RPM increases. There is a video on youtube on the link below which shows the issue in question. Does anyone have an idea on what the issue/fix might be for this?
  2. While that's true, if I'm going into the market to buy a replacement,I'm not looking into getting what's essentially a simple modification of the same design (it also makes convincing the wife to give her blessing a lot harder). While it may be true that the sedan market is decreasing, it doesn't mean it's going away and those that don't want a xUV platform aren't going to suddenly decide to get one if there are other manufacturers available to give them what they want. At this rate, eventually the xUV market is going to be in the same cutthroat situation that the mid-size segment was a couple of years ago. If evolution theory applies to vehicle manufacturers as well, you don't survive long term by focusing on one specialty but you need to have a portfolio of different product types to offer or you won't survive. Hopefully this isn't the case, but we'll see. As far as I'm concerned, I don't like the look of current xUVs and unless they also are able to meet or improve the footprint and performance of a car, I have no need to get one as a daily driver.
  3. That's unfortunate that they are planning to obsolete the Fusion. I love my 2014 and was hoping to get a new version once it was paid off at the end of the year. I guess I'll just look to the competition if there aren't any offerings since S/CUVs aren't my thing. The new Mazda 6 is pretty sharp and I'm leaning to that as a replacement.
  4. I found it was easier to just take the bumper off and there it was just under the headlight assembly. The whole assembly is just held in place with a 8mm screw and the replacement is easy. Took only about 15 minutes.
  5. Hey Everyone. The horn on my 2014 Fusion Ti no longer performs the way it should and only gives out a wimpy high pitch sound. So I bought a new assembly to replace it. My question is: how do I get to the horn to replace it? I know it's located around the wheel well on the front driver side but I'm not sure if it's just a matter of taking the tire and well cover off or if there's more to it. Has anyone had to do this yet? Looking at the new assembly seems the install is pretty easy once I get to it (just bolt it on and snap in the harness) but I could use some help getting to it. Thanks in advance!
  6. If they wanted to show off technology without messing with the dash, they could have at least just made a small HUD to keep your eyes on the road. Having that screen so low makes no sense.
  7. While watching some youtube videos, I ran across this. https://www.4dtech.com/13-15-ford-fusion-sync-3-upgrade-for-myford-touch/ Just wondering if anyone on here has tried it and what your experience has been so far. If you have NAV, since it's no longer an SD card system, do you just buy a USB key to update the maps or how does it work now. I'm just looking into how people's experience has been with Sync 3 if you came from the previous MFT system too.
  8. Thanks for the information. I was able to do what you said and pull the outlet and replace the cover. Once I took out the assembly, it made complete sense how everything goes together. You can't take out the cover first since the outlet and harness prevent a set of clips from being pushed in and simply pulling the cover off.
  9. Does anyone here know or can aim me in the right direction for removing the power outlet on the center console of the dash? I'm talking about the one under the radio in the little alcove. My cover broke and I'd like to replace it but from what I understand, the outlet and cover are clipped together and you need to remove both from behind. Thanks
  10. I had this happen on my Ti at about 70k miles. Took it in and got it covered under the Premium extended warranty minus the $100 deductible. Took a day to repair it.
  11. I just replaced my OEMs with Yokohama Advansport A/S'. Tires seem quieter right now but we'll see how they turn out.
  12. it would be great if when sync 3 comes out, there is an option to make the home screen GUI like the current MFT. I actually prefer it to the screenshots I've seen for sync 3.
  13. Is the plutonium included? On a side note, Ford should have done it on the Fusion too and included a Mr. Fusion as an option.
  14. I think it varies by dealership. When I went in to get my Fusion, they didn't let me use any of the incentives until the car was actually there. Turned out better for me in the end because Ford released more incentives but experience seems to vary across the board.
  15. FYI, OP, The Lighting Firm sells Plug & Play Mondeo style HID lights for the Fusion. If you haven't checked them out already, you should see if they satisfy what you're looking for. OEM Mondeo lights from Europe are most likely not going to work in the Fusion.
  16. I think those are the same wheels that the current one has with the 19" package on the Ti.
  17. I have a 2014 Ti. Adaptive Cruise is the BEST once you use it, you'll never want to go back to conventional. It's also great to have the option of heated AND cooled seats where many other competitors only offer heated. Having 3 ways to do things also is great (steering wheel, voice, MFT).
  18. worked for my Fusion. I have a 2014. Have you replaced the cabin air filters regularly? If you haven't, that may be your suspect.
  19. I would think that it should be possible by using gap filler and then sand, paint, and polish to get it even with the surrounding paint. Titanium comes standard with the spoiler and you need to specifically ask for it without one as an option when ordering from the factory.
  20. it's possible to show both but just be aware that the tachometer might show up as a bar on the right side next to the fuel gauge instead of the usual circular dial.
  21. Both are good looking cars. I took a look at both when the Impala came out in 2014 but went with the Fusion. I got a nearly fully loaded one for around $32k after all the incentives. Like others said, it comes down to what you need and then personal taste. The Impala being a full size is bound to have more room than the Fusion but even then, the Fusion has plenty of space for passengers. I prefer the cabin layout of the Fusion just because of its simplicity without being cheap looking and how you have so many options to do things within the car (sync, wheel controls, MFT). Personal preference but one thing that turned me off from the Impala was the elastic membrane on the steering wheel hand controls and concerns over the reliability of the membrane with wear and tear over the years. If you don't mind, you could consider a loaded Ti used 2015/14 with low miles. I think these days, most of these cars have about the same reliability.
  22. I'll give that a shot. I have a dealership down the street.
