I feel the same way, Ford is my first choice as I work for this corporation but my loyalty is waning abit. I have an old Ford and I plan on driving it as long as I can
I’ve just about reached the point where my a-plan will never be used for myself again.- 3

I think it’s about time for Musk to sell the car business and be a battery system supplier.
And EV chargers. Tesla seems to be the only company that has a reliable charging network.- 1

well, given it’s Ford, they’ll probably give a minor refresh and leave it on the market for 6 more years, sales will dry up and Ford will sit there wondering why a 10+ year old product isn’t selling lol
More like make excuses by calling it a commodity product- 1

I remember when MKT sales suddenly surged in their final months of production for the same reason. Can't remember if the Flex did likewise.
Without going back and looking it up, I don’t know but it was the reason I got mine when I did. -
And 1 Viper lol

The Tesla could do with a nice wrap, preferably concrete.
A buddy sent me a picture of one he saw on the road the other day that was painted white. Didn’t help at all- 2

I think Stellantis is doing that at their Windsor plant. But the STLA platform can handle ICE, Hybrid and BEV vehicles.
Yawn. We did that at MAP a decade ago. -
Which Lincoln dealers? The 2 near me haven’t had shit on their lots since covid.

They are probably still figuring that out as we speak. I expect some kind of announcement a week before we are supposed to go down lol.
listen, I’ve been through this before. You’ll hear next to nothing until they’re good and ready to tell you. We’re nothing more than numbers on a list.- 2

I'm guessing the water pump issue is like the cam phaser issue on other Ford engines-it happens, but not to the point that a complete redesign needs to happen. Or PTUs on D3 platform
yeah but this one has happened enough for me to get an extended warranty when I bought out my lease, just in case. I’m good to around 100k if it craps out on me. -

Interesting..I forgot about McDonnel Douglas. Think of that..three giants merged into one..the good and the bad I guess associated with the "synergism" associated with mergers. Just wonder how the elimination of competition somehow waters down the desire to be the best- or the NEED to be the best to survive??
I saw it too. I’m not typically a fan of John Oliver’s presentation style but this one was very good. It perfectly sums up corporate Culture -

Seems like a big Ponzi scheme to pump up the stock price so they can dump and run.
That’s corporate America in a nutshell right now. The Railroads are doing the same damn thing, and probably more extreme

Today, I think the old Wayne Plant area is used for parts store and some vehicle fit out for Bronco accessories…..so there’s no real way of splitting them back up into two plants….
Parts warehouse, the eastern half was converted to the MOD Center, and the southwest corner has some sub-assembly lines that are part of ISA and feed other ford plants.- 3

Originally, there were two plants on the one site, Wayne Assembly Plant that made Focus (& C-Max) and Michigan Truck Plant making Navigator and Expedition.
C-max didn’t come until well after Wayne closed and MTP was renamed MAP.- 3

I still have my 2013 Flex with 103,000 miles. What a great vehicle. Since it was never a commodity maybe they should bring it back 😉
My 2 complaints are the capacitive touch buttons on the IP and I’ve already needed to replace a rear shock and a front strut, though the latter 2 is more of an indictment on the state of the roads around here than it is anything Ford can control.- 1

But it’s time to make adjustments and find the sweet spot between profit and volume.
They’ve backed themselves into a corner now though. For years since Jim Farley took over they’ve constantly bragged about their 10 percent (or close to it) margins and every move they’ve made has been in an attempt to increase stock prices. Start dropping prices now and Wall Street is going to be very unhappy with that. It’s going to be interesting to see how they navigate through this.- 3

Rivian styling is decent, but I’m starting to get tired of the front end styling even though it hasn’t really been out that long.
I like it better in person. That rear end, especially on the R3 though, oof. Not a fan of that.- 1

As much as I hate to say it, I always thought Bronco was going to be a fad car like the two seat T-bird, PT Cruiser, the new Camaro and Toyota FJ Cruiser. Once the first wave of fans buy it, it doesn't sustain momentum.
They’re hoping it will be like the Wrangler. The problem with that is they can’t keep relying on a 10 year production cycle if they want to do that, at least not for Bronco. -

We had a production uptick at the end of flex and mkt as well. They were never high volume anyways especially the mkt.
Im glad there was. My Flex was built in the final month of production. Love it.- 2

So what are Bronco/Ranger sales and profit compared to Focus?
Sales haven’t even come close to Focus when it was even in 2018 when it ended. Profits are definitely higher which is your point. -

I remember the original “E-Max” sketches that came out. Definitely would’ve been a compliance model
I saw it. Say what you will about using the Mustang name, the design itself is FAR better than it was.

You don’t even really need to go that far. Outside of a few big cities where public transportation is readily available and you can get away without owning a car, anywhere in the fringes of the suburbs it gets harder to justify an electric vehicle. Hell, here in Northern Oakland County you could pretty easily test the limits of the range of something like the 500e that has a sub 200 mile range.
