I contacted the concierge, 12 days later my truck is at the dealer. My Mustang was in Vehi ships care for two months. It was very frustrating.

All the modes use the battery in a hybrid fashion. Preserve will charge a depleted battery back up to around 75% over time. Preserve just uses the regeneration more aggressively as you use Drive. You will feel the regen process a little more than if you are driving in one of the other modes. My point above was, you can't drive the 20 or so miles in Pure EV and then think in 30 minutes you'll be juiced up for a few more miles miles. The motors alternator is 12V, it takes some serious amperage at that level to charge a battery.

Your car can't produce the the energy to do a quick charge. 6 hours on a 120V charger would take about 2 days on your car. The best mode for MPG is Preserve unless you are going to be able to plug in soon. Look around your area for complimentary chargers. We have a few near shopping areas and I have a 220 outlet at work. Over the next few years there will be 10's of thousands of new kiosks installed. WalMart has been adding them to all of their new stores.

A good dealer will never let you see minor flaws like that, most take the car in for inspection/correction after the PDI. I'm anxious to see how mine is. It has arrived at the local train depot and should be delivered Sunday. I have to make a trip to Fl, so I won't be able to pick it up until Monday the 17th.

If it was up to the dealer I would have went to another dealer, that is crazy.

I would be OK with the engine starting every time. It may be for a minute, but it opens all the relays/valves/pumps/switches and also moves fuel through the system. Stagnate gas in the lines is really bad for your car. Programming the ECU to default to electric is possible, but I would not do it. It will cost you a few hundred to get your fuel system cleaned to save a few gallons of gas, not worth it IMO.

Yeah, I was coming back to correct it, Tax Credits raise the residual value if added in, and the Leaser owns the vehicle, whether Ford Credit or whoever issues the lease. They do not lower the MSRP.

Gov Math $2500(5KW) + (8*417)=5836 + half of 417 for the half KW $206 = $6042 I think the extra $417 is a typo. If you do the $2500 for the first 5 then 8 X 417 for the next 8 and however they come up with the other number, they must have an exact # of KW.

Federal Tax Credit Up To $7,500! All-electric and plug-in hybrid cars purchased in or after 2010 may be eligible for a federal income tax credit of up to $7,500. The credit amount will vary based on the capacity of the battery used to power the vehicle. I have the formula somewhere, it is out of the Tax Code, Should be about 6200.00 or a little more.

Is it the same KW? Credit is based on battery size.

Still the same as of 2 minutes ago, the Concierge is going to look into it further. I think it is just waiting for finale inspection and update/correction. Hoping it gets on the move soon.

The final thing I will not do is grow up, I worked too hard and sacrificed a lot in life to do as I please and play with any expensive toy I choose.
