  1. If I went by distance I would probably only be on my second oil change in almost four years of owning my truck, although it does feel like a waist of money I swap it out anyway. It was pretty hard not to sell it while used truck prices soared but I couldn’t justify the replacement costs.
  2. I just rolled over 20K km’s on my 2019 6.7 F350 and only had 1600km’s from the time of my last oil change but it has been 11 months so I figured it was time to replace it.
  3. Gatorbacks look great and do a good job, wish the plates had been cheaper then I would have swapped out the dealer ones.
  4. I have a 2019, I get the deep sleep mode message after 2 weeks of my truck sitting in the garage.
  5. The vertical section would work with a fifth wheel as long as you don’t ever need to jackknife your trailer. The bed rail section would be a no go for me, when making turns on even ground you would probably make contact. I have a tri folding bed cover and have come really close to it making tight corners on uneven ground. Honestly I wouldn’t do either. Wait until you have your truck and trailer and see how close your trailer would be to cab on a tight corner before you start fabrication.
  6. B&W hitch all the way. Had one in my above bed rail system and it was flawless. Got another one when I purchased my new 2019 with the OEM puck mount system and it has been great. It is a heavy piece of iron though, I believe it weighed in at 137lbs but I can easily remove/reinstall by myself since it can be separated into two parts. My buddy had a Reese and after he tried my B&W he replaced his with the B&W because he always had issues getting his latched/unlatched all the time.
  7. t twn0324, have you done the calculations with the 17” tires? I like those calculations it really shows depending on which wheel size you went with it could increase or decrease the gap between the 2 gear sets.
  8. Robin Hood/4x4ford, your calculations got me interested in the complete spread of the 10 vs 6spd gear ratio so I did these calculations for a comparison. The comparison of the 4.10 vs the 4.30 is very close as well. That reverse gear ratio would sure be nice. Sadly I have a few more years with my 19 before I upgrade.
  9. Either gear set will do the job Robin Hood, the 3.55 just gives you a little more mechanical advantage when towing that big fifth wheel you have.
  10. Will they make a regular cab short box though??
  11. Seeing as the OP is looking at getting 2 trucks maybe he will get one of each gear sets, it would be a great comparison. I’m looking forward to pulling my trailer in a couple weeks, it’s a lot cheaper to run than my gas truck was. I hope you get to do the same with yours.
  12. Considering the original poster was talking about towing 18k which is what we are talking about which is also near max towing I would take the 3.55. No I am not going to engage in arguing about what scenario you have dreamt up. I have read your posts on the other forum. No need for you to preach about what I need or someone else needs. There are 2 options and we can get what ever we choose is best for us.
  13. Fully aware of what the new truck will do but if you are buying a truck for towing why not go with the lower gear set? The 3.31 gear set would have done just fine with what I am currently towing but when I upgrade my trailer I know the 3.55 will be the right choice for me.
  14. 3.55’s for me, if I was pulling that kind of weight I would want the lower gears. I am only towing about half what you are Robin Hood(I have the 6spd). I’m sure the newer engine and trans combo would pull just fine with either gear set but I would take the 3.55 for the better off the line and it would be better for reversing with a heavy trailer as well.
  15. The most I have had was over 1300km and filled up at the next gas station as I was in the middle of nowhere. The truck was brand new at the time as well. I can get about 800kms on a tank in town driving. Surprisingly better in town on fuel than my 6.2 F250 was. This past summer I towed my fifth wheel and got around 750kms on a tank of straight towing, pretty much all flat land.
  16. I have had my truck for 17 months and only have about 11k km’s/6800miles so I don’t run it to often. Probably don’t need to drain as often as those who rack up the hours in their trucks.
  17. I would think it would be fine as long as you removed the hole caps, otherwise the bed mat probably wouldn’t sit flat where the caps are.
  18. Are you guys draining your filters after so many km/miles? I have only drained mine twice now but I still only have 11K km’s/6.8K miles in 15 months.
  19. Year one with the new truck has been great other than having to replace the windshield already and some recalls that have and still need to be checked out. I only managed to put on 10.7k km’s/6.7k miles, mostly due to work allowing us to take our work trucks home. The ride is better than my 2011 and it pulls the trailer great. Really impressed with fuel mileage loaded and unloaded, I keep it under 110km/h.
  20. First year with the new truck and new B&W 20k hitch, both worked great, the only thing I don’t like about this hitch is the lack of adjustments. My 16k B&W which had at least double the adjustability. I am now not able to open the front storage on my fifth wheel all the way which can be a bit of a pain, this is also partially due to the tailgate being so deep at the top.
  21. I definitely don’t park close to the store I’m going in, usually at least halfway across the parking lot. I’m more concerned about getting door dings from others though as I have no problem backing the truck into tight spots when needed. No regrets here at all with my purchase, I use it to pull my 9k lbs fifth wheel which it does with ease, and it will pull my next one as well when we decide to upgrade in the future. If you tow much you will enjoy having the 48g fuel tank. My last tank of straight towing was 700kms/438m and still had a quarter tank left.
  22. I haven’t had to remove mine as of yet but it would only take a a few minutes to remove, just something you would want to do before you left home.
  23. I am in southern Alberta and I have had a good amount of snow on it a couple times and it held up great and it’s easier to sweep off then cleaning out the box. I have also walked across it once and it held up(175lbs). It has been really good so far, easy to clean, open and close. I haven’t had to remove it yet, if you needed the whole box to haul something big you wouldn’t have the full box as they fold up into a third of the total length as you can see in my other pics(the silver truck).
