  1. The projection is or was 200,000 for let’s just call them explorer aviator EV FOR NOW. At 2020 contract they said 5 vehicles now it’s 2 with a potential 3rd product down the road according to union during online ratification vote.
  2. I can’t help but be skeptical those numbers will be achieved. I don’t know shit, I’m just saying how I feel. The brains of the ford operation must know something we don’t lol.
  3. Ford doesn’t think it’s gonna sell low volume, or are they gonna scale back their projections now that they’re slowing down their plans. I can’t wait to actually see what it looks like I wonder when the hell Ford will shed more light on this project. I already predict a slow start up so I won’t be surprised if I’m right. I can see and one shift start up with maybe both shifts coming in on and two week off and on schedule in the beginning. When we had our ratification online meeting they mentioned a possible third product in a few years.
  4. We need good products, ours are long in tooth and heading out. Last thing we need is low volume here.
  5. I will brace myself for disappointment as we get the scraps of Fords designs lol.
  6. I suppose it will get revealed next year so we can judge for ourselves if this vehicle looks even half decent. The Lincoln sounds like it will at least but Lincoln isn’t big volume.
  7. Better for who??? Won’t be better for OAC if this Flops.
  8. I think it’s actually sad news that the old stale yet solid Edge and Nautilus look better. How can Farley and the R and D people look at these vehicles and think they’re gonna sell based on what you’re saying. I hope it’s not another love it or hate it Ford Flex situation. The Flex never sold great and was just a top up at OAC along with that hideous MKT. He might have made them go back to the drawing board with the Mach E doesn’t mean it’s gonna work this time changing the original design. I hope Farley knows what he’s doing he seems quite intelligent.
  9. Maybe I’m jumping the gun abit, information has to be coming soon as we are nearing the supposed March end date for the Edge. 3 weeks and change and no more Nautilus as you guys know. I agree when the smoke settled from the contract Ford should shed more light on this situation. Since the 2020 contract Ford has been quite secretive about these 7 seat crossovers. No official name or even a sketch has been released. It’s time now.
  10. What I also want to know if Ford is slowing down their EV planning how will this affect OAC?? The lack of information from ford is angering. I get it we’re in Canada but we’re still a Ford operation. Makes me think they’re scrambling behind the scenes making changes!
  11. Thanks for the info, they could always extend the retooling timeline can’t they?? I get it there is an end date for current products but I can’t see them completing that retool in 6 months.
  12. I’m gonna ask you point blank, does the current Edge Nautilus look better than these BEVs we are gonna get at Oakville? I expect improvement in the looks department not regression! If there are so many concerns I can’t understand why they would actually go forward with vehicles that are sounding like they will be poor sellers not the 200,000 units Farley is projecting.
  13. I still don’t see this happening anytime soon. I know the technology is evolving quickly, Ford is probably doing research and developement on future Super Duty BEVs.
  14. I don’t think the technology is there yet to do any kind of BEV Super Duty type vehicle. Am I wrong?
  15. Let’s just hope Ford doesn’t screw these new vehicles up. We the workers will be affected if what they design is not accepted by the public. I don’t even trust their sales projections anymore when it comes to these upcoming EVs. So far they’ve fallen short!
  16. Canada and the EU also have CETA agreement. Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement with the European Union which is a free trade agreement. Supposedly we at OAC are suppose to export there too. If these vehicles are 7 seaters what’s the point of exporting them to Europe when smaller vehicles seem to rule there anyways. I doubt the Mach e would ever be built in Oakville as well but I’m just saying there is a free trade agreement in place up here too.
  17. I guess the market will dictate how far they’re willing to go with their plans. Maybe things will improve with gen 2 products
  18. We all know that Ford had planned to build the Mach E with the two mystery BEVs in Mexico then their projected 200000 Mach e units sales have failed so far. I like the idea of course but who knows if the Mach e will ever be built here,
  19. Thanks for your purchase although I’m not a corporate rep lol. I was sorry to see them go but they were always low volume although Mr Farley projected 100000 units a year which was way off. I enjoyed driving them when we did OT at the end of the line.
  20. Toyota already gave their employees two raises in the past year. This latest wage is clearly a result of the UAW strike as Toyota and no transplant want the UAW to get in. The UAW is sure as hell going to try.
