  1. CEL went off on its own & all looks well! Thanks again.
  2. That was the easiest valve replacement I've ever done! You were right! I didn't expect it to be visible without removing anything else or having to reach down behind where human arms aren't supposed to go. It was done in 5 minutes! Now to see if the code goes away. The old one *seemed* to allow a little air pressure to escape but it wasn't dramatic. We'll see tomorrow! Thanks!
  3. On that chance, I picked up a valve on my way home tonight. Any words of wisdom of removing the old one? I have gathered that it's on the back of the engine, near the firewall...I'll take any advice available!
  4. I've gotten this code before on our Edge (Cap-free fuel filler) & some posts seemed to indicate the filler as the likely cause. I went through the cleaning process, using the fill-tube that's in the spare tire area. The code went away but returned again after a few months. This time, the cleaning process didn't help. I'm thinking it may also be the vacuum purge valve. Thoughts? Method to test (short of $6000 worth of testing equipment)? Thanks as always!
  5. So, since we've only gone 4000 miles since the last change & we're getting the "Change your Oil" message, my assumption is that the counter wasn't reset on the previous change. I can't imagine how oil could be 'bad' after only 4000 miles. Old habits, indeed! 5k is always the goal, even on the vehicles we have that say we can go 6000/7500/more.
  6. Thank you. Out of curiosity, what is the mileage you've been seeing when you get the message & change it? I see you're in CO so you're at least 5000 more feet above sea-level than me!
  7. Nor do I. As I said, it's been less than 4000 miles since our last change. We haven't been towing or in hot or high climates, so there's no reason for it to 'expire' early. I'm wondering if they just didn't reset the 'counter' at the last oil change & it's hitting the max limit from the previous reset.
  8. 2012 Edge Limited 3.5L We had the oil changed about 4000 miles ago & maybe 4500 miles before that. I aim for 5000 even though the book says 7-10k or 'until the message' appears. I'm just wondering how intelligent the "Intelligent Oil Life Monitor" really is. Thanks!
  9. It happens to be a 2007 Class A RV but it's built on an extended frame E450 V-10 base. I love the engine/transmission but I'd like to improve the ride. There's about 55,000 miles on the clock so it's time...at least on the rears. Any experience would be appreciated. Thanks!
  10. I can't help your question but I was wondering if anyone knew what year this became available. It was a nice feature (both open & close) that was on my wife's Lexus RX400h but that's the *only* thing I've not found to be better on her 'new-to-us' 2012 Edge Limited. The Edge has everything & more; she loves it!
