Professor1234 reacted to rampagex7 in Aviator Accessories - Floor liners
My Aviator was supposed to come with the OEM Lincoln liners but for some reason dealer misplaced them at time of delivery and didn't have any more in stock so they ordered me a complimentary full set of Weathertechs.  A week later they found my OEM liners and gave them to me as well, so I actually have both sets.  I have always liked Weathertechs and would normally not put anything else in a car, but having now had both sets I agree with CoolScoop the Lincoln ones are better.  If anyone that wants to see the difference see the photos below.

The main advantage of the OEM liners is the driver side mat, which extends down about 4" below the seat rail to nicely protect the carpeting right beside the door sill which in my experience always gets hit with salt stains in the winter from snow and other crap on your boots.  The OEM liner also comes up higher a couple inches to protect the driver's footrest.  See the photo below to see a comparison with the WT placed on top of the OEM liner.

As for the cargo area, I give advantage to WT vs OEM.  The WT cargo liner has much larger lip at the perimeter to protect against spills and mine also covers the 3rd row seat which is a bonus because I hardly use them.  (see photos below)  I'm sure you can get a bigger OEM cargo liner to cover the 3rd row as well but if it is the same design as the smaller one, I still say WT cargo liner is better.

Glad to hear you’re happy with the GT. I just have the gas version, but am looking forward to whatever improvements they might make to the GT before my 2 years is up.

Professor1234 got a reaction from twintornados in New-to-me 2013 MKS EcoBoost
Replaced my super-reliable ‘old’ 2011 MKZ commuter car (Traded right at 360,000 km / 224,000 miles) with a 2013 MKS EcoBoost, fully loaded but high mileage.  I had been looking for one for a while but they are quite rare I found.

Car is in amazing shape for its age and mileage - clearly very well kept. The FCIM has the common problem and a new one is on order. Dealership replaced the BCM due to some fault codes (although Forscan shows some new ones as well as some DTCs related to the DDM and some overvoltage error somewhere else) but the one perplexing issue is with the lane keep. The menus show it as active but the button doesn’t do anything.  Forscan showed it as disabled and when I tried to reactivate there was an error. Does anyone know if LKA is in any way controlled through the FCIM?  Any ideas?

The other question/comment I have is related to the engine note from inside the cabin. Tooling  around town the engine is nice and quiet. When you bring up the revs I find the engine sounds coarse and somewhat unrefined. Is that common with the MKS EB and/or SHO?

Regardless, I now own 765 Chicago-built Lincoln horsepower between the MKS and my Aviator.  Since 2013, I’ve had an ‘11 MKZ, ‘13 MKX, ‘16 MKX (early build), ‘16 MKX (late build), ‘20 Aviator and ‘13 MKS.  In case you’re wondering, I’m 40.

Thanks. I didn’t even bother having them re-do the PDI.  This is my fifth Lincoln purchase from this dealer in six years and I can honestly say their PDI people are completely out to lunch.

extremely laid back and great to deal with but not great at the attention to detail. It’s a rural dealership that just doesn’t get the Lincoln customer I think.

I would still recommend the Aviator hands down. Fully loaded it’s a fantastic bargain compared to its rivals in the luxury space.

I think you missed the sticky where the last day of tracking for 2019 was 12/16.

In any case, I hope you are finally happy and have your vehicle as it was delivered to your dealership on 12/28!

It would be beneficial to have a list of definitions that explain what all the different tracking terms mean, especially the less common ones like 'Origin Recieved' and 'Sent Offsite'.

Don’t be a jerk....who expects a brand new vehicle would have water pouring through the roof? Great quality control. How would anyone know to anticipate this in a Lincoln? Would you have confidence in the dealer’s fix? Especially when I read about a similar incident elsewhere!

Well took these shots today at a Cape Cod bog in Harwich. The F-650 is a 6 yd dump (Cautillan 2000-2003) and the tractor is a 95 LNT 9000, Cummins powered.  Both were immaculate.  On my trip off Cape saw another LTA Aeromax pulling a similar 45' trailer as well as either an HN-80 or a Sterling off loading in a big bog in Wareham  off  Rt 25.

Hi Professor. Unless the Aviator is different than every other Lincoln and Ford, the dates listed on the Window Sticker are not Build Dates.

It took me a while to find it as well... if you are in the Apps app there will be a custom (mine is a lightening bolt for some reason) icon in the top right.  Click that and a menu will pop up with apps waiting to be updated.

Sure, the app may support the feature but does the car itself need to be updated?  I believe that even the window sticker references PaaK as 'late availability'.

I’d feel the same way if it wasn’t for my corporate vehicle having it (2017 F150 3.5T) and me being able to play with and learn to live with it.  Yes, sport mode disables it. But once you get used to it and are able to ‘manipulate’ it, there’s actually a sense that you’re saving fuel and not causing undue wear to the systems.

By manipulate I mean mean that you can modulate the brake so it doesn’t shut off. Quite important when you need to enter an intersection quickly and get up to high speed!

I’ve been keenly looking at the videos as well. Common among most posted to date are ill-fitting roof speaker grilles and weird ‘tufting’ on the outer bolster of the drivers seat. Also on the Autovlog review there was just a terrible upper interior b-pillar fit. Egregiously bad!

I’m nervous as well as my second 2016 MKX, a custom order, came with a half-dozen glaring fit/finish issues. $70,000 vehicle to boot.  Still leaks motor oil!

Sorry to hear this. Very concerning for all of us who are waiting on our new Aviators.   After the atrocious obvious quality issues on my factory order 2016 MKX I will be thoroughly inspecting my Aviator before allowing the dealership to change ownership.

But alas I’m closing in on 12 weeks since order with very little to show for it!
