  1. FYI, Upon checking my insurance since Ford changed from Unicare to MetLife they lost my beneficiaries and added additional coverage that had been cancelled. Also I couldn’t make changes without calling them. They still have not made the changes. Check you coverages!
  2. If you go to uaw.org then scroll down to constitution you should be able to click on it and download the constitution! Every active member should know how to see this and find out what they agree on at the constitutional convention.
  3. You can find that out by requesting a copy of the international contract from your committee person.
  4. If any active employees put in a resolution to maintain cola for the retiree's that will definitely help all active employees when you go to retire! Cost it out and see if it will fit in the budget before negotiations next year! Every little bit helps when you get to the fixed income of being retired! Remember anything you can get know for yourselves will help yourself in the long rung!
  5. Sorry found it in 197C page 456 of National Agreement. Was suppose to be paid out Dec 1,2018! Not here yet! If anyone knows or can help with this matter it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
  6. Does anyone remember from the contract if the Retiree's get a Xmas bonus this year? If yes when was it suppose to be issued? Thanks
  7. Purchase Agreement. The first document signed by the parties is the purchase agreement. It is extremely important because it contains all the essential terms of the agreement. It will contain the names of the parties, the description of the property, contingencies, the purchase price, the deposit, the financing arrangements and the time for the closing. You can also make the transaction contingent upon many factors. These may include satisfactory financing, a satisfactory survey or inspection, the sale of your present home, an appraisal etc. It is not enough to discuss these items with the other party. In order to have them binding, they must be included in the purchase agreement. You must also agree to terms on taxes, special assessments and the like. Preparation for Closing. Once the purchase agreement is signed, the parties must complete certain tasks to prepare for closing. Unless the buyer is paying with cash or will sign a land contract, the buyer must arrange for financing. If a mortgage is being applied for, the mortgage company or bank will order a credit investigation and the property will be appraised. Whatever the terms of payment, a title search and insurance policy will have to be ordered. Routinely, the seller will purchase this and hire the title company. This will protect both parties, since the title insurance company insures that the seller has valid title to convey. Information concerning taxes, special assessments, liens, land contracts or mortgages must also be obtained prior to closing. Closing. A closing date is usually scheduled after the title insurance company has issued the commitment to insure the title of the buyer and the mortgage company or bank has approved the financing arrangements. Usually the broker or the title insurance company will prepare a closing package containing all the documents except the mortgage documents. Mortgage documents are prepared by the mortgage company or the bank. At the closing, the documents are signed and the monies are disbursed. After the Closing. After the closing, the signed documents are recorded with the Register of Deeds to give legal notice of the change of title. In any case, if you have any unresolved questions after the closing you should contact me. This is what the uaw attorney sent.
  8. We just listed the property in Indiana with a realtor and got charged $225 for title insurance as the seller! I thought that buyer's did pay for this but I guess that's changed too! The Uaw attorney also stated we had to pay for title insurance! Could be an Indiana thing too!
  9. Not what it use to be! Tried to sell a piece of property in Indiana, they don't provide a purchase agreement, tiltle check, or closing! When we had the old legal they did it all! Basically they look over the documents! Hopefully everyone else has better luck with the reduced rate attorneys! A firm has to join the Ford Legal Group and then they agree to take a reduced rate of $100/hr with different maximum amounts allowed! If we are being charged income for legal service at tax time then give us the money and let us pick our own SCUM BAGS(attorney's)! FYI

  11. Don't quit trying! I emailed Jacque Nasser on wednesday of the week he was coming to our Wixom plant and Friday, when he came he personally asked to meet with me,talked for about 15 minutes and got a few pictures with him! When I was still working I emailed Malluley on several occasions and he also responded every time! If you feel that need is in help keep trying! It really does work in some cases! Good luck!
  12. LEGAL SERVICES PLAN TO BEGIN OPENING CASES The new Legal Services Plan is called the UAW-FCA-Ford-General Motors Legal Services Plan (“Plan”). Effective Wednesday, January 25, the Plan will begin taking new cases. A new case can be opened by calling this toll-free number: 800-482-7700. Eligible participants in the Plan will include active and retired UAW-represented employees at FCA, Ford and General Motors and their surviving spouses. What legal services or matters will be covered by the Plan? The Plan will offer an “office work” benefit, which will provide services for the following types of legal matters: • wills and trusts • powers of attorney • purchase or sale and other uncontested issues regarding residential real property • deeds • uncontested family matters • credit reporting • contracts for goods or services • residential leases • birth or marriage certificates • name changes “Office work” services will include advice, document preparation, document review, factual and legal research, and correspondence. No representation will be provided by the Plan in court or in any litigation situation. In addition to office work services, the Plan does provide UAW members and retirees with full representation, including attendance at hearings, for Social Security disability applications, suspensions and terminations. For many legal matters that are not covered under the new Plan, or that require court activity, the Plan intake staff can still process a participant’s inquiries. Such matters will be referred to outside private cooperating attorneys, who will provide legal services to Plan participants at a reduced legal rate. opeiu494/djn
