  1. Still learning about our new MKC. Today I wanted to program a personal code into the keyless entry keypad. I've read the manual, and understood the instructions, but I can't even get to the programming because the keypad doesn't light up when I touch it. I'm thinking I must be missing something. Is there some setting inside the vehicle that activates/deactivates this function? The manual says that the keypad is invisible until touched. Mine doesn't light up when I touch it. It DOES light up when I have the key fob close-by and then touch the door handle. But when I don't have the key fob, there's no response or lighting up when I touch the pad. When I've got the fob and the pad lights up, it doesn't seem to respond to number presses. Any thoughts on what I'm missing? Thanks.
  2. Thanks for the suggestions regarding a full size spare. Yes, I think I do think I'll keep it in the trailer rather than carrying it in the MKC's cargo area. Appreciate the replies.
  3. Just picked up our new 2017 MKC. It has the compact temporary spare tire/wheel (T155/700/17) which I think is better than having fun flats or no spare and inflator kit. But I am considering getting a full size spare. Just wondering whether anyone has done this. I'm assuming it would not fit into the spare area beneath the cargo area, so I'd imagine in would have to be carried on the surface of the cargo area. (One of the reasons I'm considering the full size spare is that I'll be towing a trailer on occasion, and I see the indication in the manual that towing is not permitting with the type of spare that I have.
