  1. I do wish there was a fixed roof option for the Bronco. I have no desire to remove the top as good weather days are few and far between where I live. It's just not worth having to live with the creaking and wind noise that comes with a removable top.

I drove Mustang GT California Special's as my company car for many years. As the inventory manager and advertising manager for 3 Ford dealerships for 34 years, I could drive whatever I wanted with the exception of Shelby's or Raptor's which I had no interest in driving. I always ordered the GT/CS in white which was distinctive but not overstated. The 2024 GT/CS is just gaudy! A lot of the appearance and design work from Ford in recent years is just plain tacky in my opinion... no sense of style, too many people having decision making input, etc.

The S550 California Specials were very attractive.

I've found that older people tend to struggle more with getting in sedans than they do with trucks and SUVs. My dad can barely get in our explorer, or maverick. He's only in his late 60s, but when we rented a Corolla hybrid, it genuinely took him about 5 minutes everytime he got in or out.

Something like a maverick is about as good as it gets when it comes to seating position, it's higher up than a sedan, so you don't have to bend down to get in, but it's a lot lower than a full size truck. It also gets better fuel economy than most sedans and hatchbacks, rides decent ish, much better than most BOF trucks. It genuinely serves as a solid replacement for most cars. My family HATES most trucks, and we absolutely adore this thing.

Unless the hybrid system absolutely shits the bed, unlikely considering the reputation Ford trucks/hybrid systems have, then I'm confident in saying it's a better vehicle than any of the sedans we've owned. If/when Ford brings back sedans, it will make more sense to position them to appeal to younger buyers.

Some sort of sedan that rides on a shared hybrid/EV platforms and can be engineered for next to nothing thanks to parts sharing. Older people need practical, versatile vehicles. Younger people generally need affordable and energetic efficient vehicles with a very low cost of ownership, a small affordable EV would be perfect for them. Especially considering young people aren't really getting married/having kids these days, so it's not long they really need a large Cuv or van.

Strange. My grandparents' generation had no trouble getting in and out of Town Cars and Delta 88s.

That wasn't a concern, wouldn't make a difference as the sales would still end up at FoMoCo. Sales cannibalization was not a concern at PAG they actually were good with customers having an assortment of PAG vehicles in their driveway. The long goal was Jaguar would be more Benz / Lexus competition and Lincoln would be more BMW/Audi. The LS and the small sedan and then SUV were to have launched Lincoln back into the European market.

Shouldn't have been the other way around since Jaguar is the one with the driver's car heritage?

They basically invented the Full Size luxury segment with the Navigator then gave it away to Cadillac. Cadillac didn't have an answer when it launched in 1997 then did a rush job to get the 99 Escalade out which was just a Yukon and a few badges.

They tried to make the first gen Aviator different but focused on underpinnings to make it different rather than what the customer saw in style.

There was actually a smaller Lincoln SUV based on the first Escape as well that would have come out in 2003 along with a smaller sedan.

Some hate Nasser, but he was the last CEO that saw potential in Lincoln. That's why he wanted it in California to escape the BS that was Dearborn.

A rejuvenated Lincoln would have stepped on Jaguar's toes.

Case in point, here's a side by side comparison of several Lincoln crossovers, compared to Aston Martin's crossover, which is the best looking SUV ever imo. All three look good, but the Aston looks more enticing, and sport as a result of those proportions, minimal overhangs, longer hood, etc. The proportions of ICE lincolns are restricted by the Ford products they're based on. But future EVs should have more flexibility in the proportions they enable.

Wasn't the Nautilus supposed to go on CD6?
