  1. My dealer has already had my car for a week and they just said the parts are back ordered so it’s going to be another week before they even get them in. Must be a pretty big issue if the parts are already back ordered. At least they are giving us a loaner.
  2. A member over at broncog6 made this rendering. Looks pretty cool.
  3. Someone earlier mentioned the transmission cooler. That was where my leak was coming from. Is that a known issue for the explorers?
  4. https://jalopnik.com/patent-shows-the-electric-ford-f-150-is-going-to-get-a-1840532888 this link seems to clear it up a bit. There is a front and back bin that are connected with a hinge. You can slide out the bins and then swing the front bin to the side so you can more easily reach the back bin.
  5. Mine is leaking what I assume is transmission fluid and it only has 2k miles on it. Took it to the dealer today for recall work and they are going to take a look at the leak as well.
  6. My 2020 explorer has 2k miles on it and it’s already leaking transmission fluid. Took it in to have one recall fixed so I guess they can fix this too.
  7. https://www.yahoo.com/autos/first-look-electric-ford-f-144000778.html thought this patent was pretty interesting. You can access the frunk through the grille and it has slide outs
  8. I rarely see any sub compact vehicles on he road. I don’t see how anything smaller than those could even be remotely popular.
  9. https://www.autoblog.com/2019/12/16/2021-cadillac-escalade-teaser-screen/ 38” oled screen from straight on I don’t mind the front end. I think it might even look good with the DRL’s on. From that 3/4 view pic though the front looks like it goes down too far.
  10. I like it but rear visibility isn’t gonna be great with the tire up that high. the one behind the door or at the very back?
  11. The profile looks really similar to the expedition. I actually like the interior and how they implemented the tablet style screen. Materials look a bit cheap in the pics though. The front clip and that giant chrome piece on the back look terrible though.
  12. https://jalopnik.com/the-ford-mustang-mach-1-will-return-in-2021-rumor-1840285389 says it should replace the bullitt in the mustang lineup. Anyone have any info on this? Wonder if it will have a shaker hood scoop.
  13. I felt the same way about the explorer at first, but now I like how it looks, at least on the exterior. The interior is functional and it seems like there is tons of space to move around inside, but it has zero style. Fixing that would help a lot in my opinion. I’ve said this before, but ford really needs to step up its wheel design. The wheels can make or break the overall look of the exterior and the wheel designs they have been putting out lately have been pretty bland.
  14. well the explorer is a bit wider so it gives you some more elbow room, and I was thinking more of a raked roof so it’s more coupe like. I haven’t been a fan of the edge for a while now. In my opinion it’s ford’s “appliance” cuv. Nothing special about it, and it doesn’t offend anyone but does get anyone excited either.
  15. ford’s strategy of pursuing higher ATP’s doesn’t seem to work well with what Hackett is saying here. If you want me to pay more for a vehicle, I better be getting more and I better be getting the vehicle built how I want it, not limited to some predetermined option packages put together by the bean counters.
  16. Im not sure if adding more smaller cuvs is the answer. Where I live, you hardly see any vehicle from that segment on the road. I think you are on to something with the chopped explorer though. The VW atlas cross sport looks much better than the regular atlas. A two row explorer with 5 or 6” cut off the back might be pretty cool, especially in st trim.
  17. wasnt there a thread about how ford was already planning one?
  18. I’m more concerned with the quality of product which has seemed to go down (real or perceived) under Hackett. Hopefully he puts a bigger emphasis on that in the future.
  19. Oh I was agreeing with you. If you are sharing the costs of parts over several vehicles (in the case of escape and focus its almost the entire interior), why couldn’t they all be profitable. This was the reason for the baby bronco and escape right? Basically the same vehicle with a few modifications that can be marketed to different groups and make a profit. Why couldn’t you have the focus, escape and baby bronco all on the same platform to share the costs?
  20. I wouldn’t mind more cuvs with a sedan shape. One of my favorite recent concepts was the skoda vision. I think it’s one of the best implementations of the coupé style cuv.
  21. Look at the escape and focus. Aren’t they basically the same vehicle with a different top hat on? The interiors are pretty much identical. With that much part sharing and the volume of sales they had, I don’t know how they couldn’t be profitable.
  22. I wish I was getting those MPGs. I’ve had a 2013 fusion with 1.6L that averaged 24 mpg over the life of the car. The wife had a 2017 escape with 2.0L that’s averaging 21 mpg and a 2020 explorer that’s getting 18 mpg. I drive fast so that explains why the fusion is low but my wife is your average driver and doesn’t speed and she still gets terrible mileage.
  23. Personally I see this as good and bad. Yes this is where the market is going and it’s the right decision to make, but as someone who has moved up the ford family of vehicles over the years, it’s a bit disappointing to see the affordable/low price cars disappearing. I have no problem with the fiesta and Taurus going, but focus was a great starter/commuter car and if you have a family, the fusion was big enough for everyone with plenty of trunk space for a family of 4, all for several thousand less then the escape or edge.
  24. I hope it does well for this exact reason. If it sells well, maybe the aggressive look can be passed on to other vehicles.
  25. I don’t hate it.it would be cool to see some aggressive headlights on a truck.
