  1. I’m curious about this as well. Toyota picked a side and went masculine with the rav4. Sales of that might be a good indicator. This escape looks the most feminine of all the compact suvs (crv, rav4, cx5, Tucson, rogue, equinox, etc). I am a few years out on buying a new car but the escape, maverick, next gen ranger, and bronco were all on my short list. I really like the technology and interior of the escape, but it’s off the list do to its exterior. If the maverick has the same sliding back seat and some of the tech from the escape, it’s probably my next vehicle.
  2. Back seat legroom looks awesome. I also like the 12” digital instrument panel. Hoping the maverick gets both of these. Anyone watch the tflcar video and see the wheels at the very beginning? Looks like one of those was on the PHEV, but there were some dark colored wheels on display that I didn’t see on any of the vehicles. I’d like to see those on the escape.
  3. Here’s the Kuga st line . With the molding being body colored on the bottom, it really does look like a hatch. The st (line) package is supposed to be more exciting and sporty. This looks boring and dated already. I hate the giant piece of black plastic on the bottom of the escape but it does visually help it’s looks.
  4. Yeah that was pretty bad. It looked terrible on that stage. I think the Autoblog pics make it look a bit better.
  5. Is this the first time the press is seeing the escape/Kuga? Midnight CET is around 6pm CST so I was hoping we might see some pics early if there was some embargo that stopped at midnight, but it sounds more likely that this will be the first time the press has seen it.
  6. When I look at this, I don’t see this as a soft top roof like the Jeep has. It’s not something you’d leave on all the time and expect it to protect you from the rain. I see this more as a sun shade for when you have the top off. If it rains, you put the top back on. I could be wrong though.
  7. Yeah, I noticed that afterwards and was too lazy to fix it. However, an automatic trans on the Jeep is a 2k option so that bumps it back up to to about a 5k difference if you wanted an auto.
  8. The low end seems a bit expensive for what you get. Rubicon starting at 45k doesn’t seem bad though. I like how it looks, but a convertible roof and fold down windshield aren’t worth the premium to me.
  9. https://jalopnik.com/the-2020-jeep-gladiator-costs-35-040-to-62-310-heres-1833680540 That’s about 5k more than a 4x4 supercrew xl and 1k more than a 4x4 supercrew xlt. Rubicon starts at $45k.
  10. Figured it was something stupid like that. I’m not a fan of that dealership anyways so it doesn’t surprise me.

The top two are $33,492 without sport package.
  12. Here’s a few names I came up with: Phoenix - Ford Phoenix has a nice ring to it. Also hints at the outdoors. Imagine the logo options too. This would be my choice. Scout - pairs up nicely with the ranger name, but I’m sure there is trademark issues. FX - Ford FX sounds good and it is a 4x4 so the name fits Tremor - Ford probably already has this trademarked but maybe this belongs on a larger vehicle. Sentry - fits with the ranger name but might be too close to the Sentra. Triton - I’ve always liked the triton name but again should probably go on something larger. Legion - no rhyme or reason for this one, just sounds cool to me
  13. Hopefully this is offered on the xl. Looks better then the stx package.
  14. I figured it was a mule, but at the same time I’m not used to seeing that much camp on mules either.
  15. https://www.motor1.com/news/315237/four-door-ford-bronco-rumor/ “The new Bronco, the smaller so-called Baby Bronco, and the unibody pickup reportedly share a rugged styling aesthetic that should set them apart from the sleeker crossovers that are more common on the market.” i thought this was interesting. The last thing I’d call the spy photos of the compact truck was “rugged.” Does this mean it could share looks with the maverick?
  16. https://www.motor1.com/news/315201/ford-ranger-black-appearance-package/ https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.caranddriver.com/news/amp26897702/2019-ford-ranger-pickup-black-edition/ “The pack is available with any factory color for the Ranger and adds several blackened exterior details, including black radiator grille, 18-inch aluminum wheels with black center caps, black running boards, black fender vent surround, black side mirror caps, and black lower valance.” its a $1995 option and is available to order now. I was all for the sport package, but I think I like this one better. I like the black accents with the colored bumper. according to the second link, it also comes with the spray in bedliner.
  17. Any word on how the ranger is selling? Only reason I ask is I have yet to see one on the road and all the dealers around me have had the same stock for a while now. I’m seeing dealers with super crew lariats with 501, sport appearance and tow package for under $34k when msrp is just under $39k. There wasn’t a breakdown of the discounts on the dealers website so it could be a bunch of stuff that no one qualifies for, but it still seemed odd to be advertised that low when it just came out.
  18. Either way it’s good news. I’m excited to see the Corsair, but something new would be cool too.
  19. Well technically the Corsair is completely new since it doesn’t exist now.
  20. Seems to me the ideal price of one of these option packages should be around 2-3k. Cheap enough to not scare off customers but enough for ford to make some extra profit.
  21. How complicated can it be? Maybe it slightly slows down production, but wouldn’t you make up the money by selling more options? I’m not paying 7k to get a sunroof in some package, but if I really wanted a sunroof, I would pay 1k or whatever to going rate is for sunroofs. By ford not offering it as a stand-alone option, they’ve basically lost 1k if not the entire sale.
  22. This is very true. I rode in a friends Jeep Grand Cherokee and the quality of the screen was 100x better than what ford offers. It’s almost like ford uses SD screens and everyone else is using 4K.
  23. Isn’t $5140 a bit steep for led fog lights, active x seating material, passenger power seat and remote start? Remote start is a couple hundred bucks at most. Led fogs should be another few hundred. Active x material is just an upgraded cloth material right? Leather seats in other cars are part of packages costing less then $3000. Not sure how they are justifying this package price.
  24. I can’t see it either so I headed over to FIN and couldn’t see it there either. I’m not a member there so I’m not allowed to see their pics. Guessing that’s why I can’t see it here.
