Yeah, but I think it’s worth it. Fords screens have been behind the competition for a while now. I rode in a friends Jeep Grand Cherokee the other day and it’s screen was so clear. It looked to be hd and made fords look like sd. Not to mention the graphics used were much better.

I was hoping for better honestly. The chromed honeycomb grill looked ok, but the other one with the honeycomb and horizontal bars looks terrible. The 10” center screen looked like an after thought. If you don’t like the tablet look, you are gonna hate this. I was also disappointed in the wheels. They looked similar to the titanium wheels on the current escape. And all that plastic cladding made what I assumed to be a platinum model look cheap. i will say the one bright spot was the 12” gauge cluster. That looked awesome and it’s seriously making me consider waiting on a ranger lariat until it comes with that.

Yep, i always get the sport appearance package on anything I buy to get rid of as much of it as I can. -

I like the honeycomb grille insert better. I wish cars would get away from using plastic chrome on them all together. -

the implementation of this grille works a lot better on the focus. The grille and headlights appear larger on the focus. You’d think it would be the other way around. Also, the positioning of the headlights is much better on the focus. On the escape, the headlights are completely above the grille. This gives it an appearance of a smiley face and reminds me of this Miata. They could fix this design by taking a lot of the slope out of the hood and having a more upright front. Make the grille larger and move it up higher. Put the headlights on the side of the grille instead of above it. -

Do you think since maverick has already been leaked that we will get to see it this auto show season? i currently have a 2017 escape and the size is almost perfect, unless you are the person who has to sit behind me. Is the maverick supposed to have the extra leg room that the new escape was supposed to get? -

Yep, I agree. And why give it a car grille in the first place? Look at Toyota and the rav4. It basically has the Tacoma grille on it now. I’m not saying throw the f150 or ranger grille on it, but at least come up with something original. -

My initial reaction isnt good. The front doesn’t work very well on this. It reminds me of the Kia Sportage and that is not a good thing. The rest isn’t bad, but it looks a helluva lot more like a wagon than what I was hoping. It also looks bloated. Hopefully it will grow on me, but right now the maverick is looking pretty good compared to this. -
I’m ready to see the escape since that’s probably the vehicle I’ve seen the least of.

2019 Ford Ranger First Drive

the video basically echos what everyone else has said about the ranger. Just posting it because I think the black lariat with sport appearance and fx4 packages looks really sharp. -

Forgot about cooled seats. I can’t wait for those to be as common as heated seats. A few other manufacturers off them on their lower trim vehicles but ford seems only interested in offering it on its most expensive options. I’ve never had a need for heated seats, but I’d probably use the cooled seats 7 months out of the year. -

My perfect ranger would be a mix of all 3 trims. Give me the vinyl floors of the xl, the grille, wheels and cloth seats from the xlt sport appearance package, and the headlights from the lariat, maybe the speakers too. -

Fuzzy, are the xl and xlt interiors basically the same? -

My fusion se interior has been pretty nice. I’d guess it’s the same as the upper trims minus the leather. I was expecting it would be the same here. Obviously if you are getting an xl, you’d expect that to be pretty cheap on the inside, however anything xlt and above should be fairly nice. If they can do it on sedans that they were losing money on, why can’t they do it on trucks which should give them a decent profit? -
Is it time for a new Sport Trac?
T-dubz replied to NLPRacing's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I’d definitely consider a new sport trac. I’m not hauling plywood sheets over here so I don’t need a big bed. I just occasionally might move a few boxes, a lawn mower, etc and a small bed works great for that. It also makes the truck shorter so it has a better chance of fitting in my garage. If it had a nicer interior and better ride while getting better mpg, and maybe a few extra inches of legroom, i think it might do pretty well. -
Pics of Camouflaged Focus-Based Pickup
T-dubz replied to mackinaw's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Everything I’ve read is saying it’s based off of the Tucson which seems smaller then the ridge line to me, but those same articles do compare it to the ridgeline as well. I thought the ridgeline would be more compareable to the Santa Fe in size but I could be wrong. -

I believe the Hyundai Santa Cruz truck will also be this size. It will be based off of the Tucson and will probably come out around the same time. I liked the concept for that truck, but I haven’t seen any mules or spy shots of the production version to see if its staying true to the concept or not. I’m curious to see how these two compact trucks with stack up against each other. -

looks like the explorer stole its grill from vw

What’s uncomfortable about it? I’m roughly your size and have found my dads explorer platinum quite comfortable, however I’m not sitting in it for an 8 hr shift everyday with gear on either. I’d imagine my back would hurt after sitting in any vehicle that long lol
