It’s not just the base engine, it’s the only engine for 3 of the 4 trims. That’s the problem. In the escape, the SE has the optional hybrid, the SEL has the optional 2.0, and the titanium has the 2.0 and hybrid. You have choices on every trim except the base S. The Sport should be similar, with only the base model not having an engine choice.

Since they named it the “bronco sport” and its supposed to be the sporty off-road alternative to the escape, you would have thought they would have given it the option of the sportier engine. If you want people to pay a premium for the product, you have to make it premium. Slapping the bronco name on it will only command a premium for so long.

Saw this in a video on YouTube. Guess this was one of the early designs for the sport? I actually think I like it better.

heres the production design for comparison

I agree. The refreshes always seems to look better than the original to me anyways. Since COVID, I get to work from home so I barely drive now. Waiting wouldn’t be a bad idea for me.

I'm already looking ahead to the next refresh. Excited to see if Ford can make the Bronco even better going forward.

Ben Hardy on You Tube reviewed a Big Bend model today out of Provo, Utah. That dealership has two. Looks like western states are getting the first shipments trickling in fron Mexico.

Ben Hardy gave it a good review.....good steering feel and sure footed handling with good visibility. Lower trim level didn't impress me and engine sounded strained when floored. Ben called the acceleration "adequate." He said 2.0 would be best option. I agree. 2.0 or forget it.

That's too bad and Ford should correct that by 2022MY. For towing and powering through off road sites, the 2.0 makes the most sense and all around practicality. Mid level trims should offer the superior engine that lives up to the Bronco name. My Bronco II didn't have much hp, but it had V6 engine that could pull a trailer through heavy snow.

Actually, I believe it is.  I can make out an E with a line in the middle and a T below the line that line up with the "ENGINE START STOP" that's on the button.

I’m liking that sport with the custom wheels and larger tires. Hopefully it looks just as good in real pics. The real bronco at sema didn’t look as good as these drawings in my opinion.

At some point wasn’t there a rumor that the maverick would start around $20k? Even with some options, that would make for a nice daily driver that can handle the occasional trip to Home Depot for some larger items in the bed at a very affordable price.

I think this interior looks better than the escape or bronco sport.

The off-centered screen is interesting. Hopefully that’s an indicator that there will be a larger horizontal screen available.

This would be my perfect vehicle. The new fx4/variant or ST in this set up would be pretty nice.
