This would be my perfect vehicle. The new fx4/variant or ST in this set up would be pretty nice.

No offence to you as a worker, but I'm not sure quality is going to be at a high point 4+ weeks in after launch and the line workers working that much work with no real rest. Only so much the body can take with no rest. I remember back in the day with all the OT on the Expedition and Navigator; mistakes were made because everyone was just so tired they weren't paying attention. When is the second shift starting?

For me there are too many little issues, that make bigger issues with the Bronco for me at launch to spend the 60K on one. I'm pushing my reservation and wait for the things like the modular roof and some comfort features be added to justify the price. After the initial excitement wore off I'm not sure it is the right car for me at this point, honestly it seems really expensive for what you get. (good for my Ford stock though) The early units are going to be very profitable for Ford however after the first 6-9 months sales vs reservations will level off, it is not the new thing on the block anymore.

I still think there's a lot of reasons to wait if you don't need a car right away, and no x-plan seals the deal for me. The 2021 already looks amazing... so just think what's around the corner with Warthog and who knows what else ford can come up with in the next 3 years?

New options and features, more paint choices, white tops maybe? And by then the aftermarket should be churning out some really cool stuff too.

Build and price didn’t make decisions any easier lol. $45k or under is where I want to be. Priced out a black diamond and big bend nicely equipped right around that amount. Guess I’m gonna have to see them in person before I can make a final decision.

lots of info here. Edition 1 comes out in the fall for 112k. Lower priced models will roll out every year through 2024 with the base model coming out in 2024 for 80k.

seems like it has some pretty cool off-road features. That last picture shows the adjustable suspension. It also has 18 cameras, including front and rear undercarriage cameras. The removable panels of the roof are see through and can be stored in the frunk (at least that’s what they showed on the video).

I don’t care for the hummer grille and the back of the cab, but the interior was nice. I’d like to see a bronco truck with a similar roof. I’d take that for half the price anyday..

Official press release from GM. https://media.gm.com/media/us/en/gm/home.detail.html/content/Pages/news/us/en/2020/oct/1020-hummer.html

    Highlights.
Segment-Exclusive 4 Wheel Steer featuring CrabWalk1 — a segment-exclusive feature that allows the rear wheels and front wheels to steer at the same angle at low speeds, enabling diagonal movement of the vehicle, for even greater maneuverability on challenging terrain. Adaptive Air Suspension with available segment-leading, Extract Mode2 capability enables the suspension height to be raised approximately 6 inches (149 mm) to help the HUMMER EV negotiate extreme off-road situations such as clearing boulders or fording water. 35-inch-OD Goodyear Wrangler Territory MT tires offered standard; and the capability to accommodate 37-inch tires3. They offer exceptional strength and flexibility to optimize maneuverability with the HUMMER EV’s unprecedented off-road capability, including scaling 18-inch verticals and driving through water that is more than 2 feet deep. Underbody armor, consisting of sturdy steel plates that are strategically located around the battery pack and more to help provide protection in extreme off-roading conditions. UltraVision4 that includes new front and rear underbody cameras with live “virtual spotter” views to help drivers navigate obstacles and place wheels on and off the trail. The underbody cameras are packaged to help protect against damage and equipped with a wash function to help clear debris. HUMMER EV offers a best-in-class number of camera views, with up to 18 available from the vehicle to help increase awareness of surroundings. Off-road widgets that display vehicle functions and terrain status through the infotainment and driver information screens. Examples include torque output, differential locker engagement, tire pressure, pitch and roll angles (including maximum values), a drift gauge (with maximum values), friction circle, torque vectoring and more. Three-motor e4WD drive system that will offer the equivalent of GM-estimated 1,000 horsepower and GM-estimated 11,500 lb-ft of torque. 800-volt DC public fast charging5 compatibility of up to 350 kilowatts. Industry-first technology mechanically switches the batteries from parallel to series mode during charging, which makes HUMMER EV compatible with the fastest 350 kW DC fast chargers, enabling nearly 100 miles of range in 10 minutes of charging6. 24-module, double-stacked Ultium battery propulsion system that will offer excellent range and power to three motors. GM-estimated 350+ miles of driving range7 on a full charge, based on preliminary testing. The latest version of Super Cruise8, an available driver assistance feature offering hands-free driving on more than 200,000 miles (approximately 322,000 km) of enabled roads, and a new automatic lane changing feature, where the system can determine when a lane change is optimal and initiate the maneuver, while following signaling protocols. Watts to Freedom9 — a driver-selectable immersive experience that unleashes the full acceleration capability of the EV propulsion system, including GM-estimated 0-60-mph performance in approximately 3 seconds. Drive Mode Control offers driver-selectable modes that tailor performance — including torque splits between the front and rear wheels, and four-wheel steering settings — for different driving conditions. It includes Terrain Mode, which raises the HUMMER EV’s ride height by nearly 2 inches. Adaptive Ride Control continuous damping that is tailored for both on- and off-road driving. Open-air driving enabled by the structural rigidity of the Ultium batteries, with standard Infinity Roof and removable transparent Sky Panels that can stow in the “frunk” storage compartment at the front of the vehicle. Premium, technical interior materials. Large, 13.4-inch diagonal infotainment10 screen and 12.3-inch diagonal driver information center display convey a wealth of vehicle performance and driver awareness information. MultiPro Tailgate with six functional positions. Power rear drop glass window and power tonneau cover.

The reason that the Explorer feels a lot bigger than the Edge is because it's almost as wide as an F150 (re akirby's post)
The disadvantage with using CD6 is unitary construction when a full sized Bronco is expected to have a separate frame.

T-dubz reacted to tbone in Ford Q3 2020 Sales Results
I can now speak from an educated position on the Escape.  I just picked up a 2020 Escape SE for my daughter.  Now that I have driven it around for a while, I will say the 1.5 is significantly better than it has been made out to be here. It is not the quietest motor, but certainly not the loudest I’ve heard. My comparison is against a Mazda CX-5 and the RAV4.  This definitely feels more powerful than those.  I did notice there were a few times when the transmission felt like It was a gear too high, but otherwise the trans has felt smooth.

It would have been nice to have Sync4, but Sync3 is stable and I have no issues with it.  It’s definitely better than the CX5 infotainment system, which uses the dial and was very unpleasant to use.  I don’t feel the RAV4 exceeds Ford's infotainment. either.

I would say the Mazda’s interior materials are better than the Escape, however the driver's seat was more comfortable in the Escape.   The contouring of the seats on the Mazda made the seats feel narrow to me, which I didn’t care for.  The interior is nothing special on the RAV4, and definitely no better.

The style of the vehicle Is subjective.  I’m a truck guy, but regarding this vehicle I’ve always thought it looked like a Porsche Cayenne.  Apparently I’m not the only one, because two kids at her school asked who got the Porsche.

She loves the vehicle inside and out, and her friends seem to like it as well. It was a great value for me because I got a killer deal since it was a service loaner that had 1k miles on it.

I would have posted a couple of pics but the site is giving me errors when I attempt to attach them.
