  1. Here's a picture of the actual truck rather than the computer version posted earlier. Those are Dee Zee Hex Steps on it. As with your coach, I love it. Nothing bad to say about it.
  2. We should point out that "In Production" doesn't mean it's actually being built. My truck went "In Production" on Dec. 23 but wasn't built until Jan. 16, and then delivered to dealer on Feb. 6 which was only 2 days later than their original estimate. "In Production" is a pretty nebulous term which just means they are making sure they have all the parts, are getting it scheduled, etc. and ready to build. Sorry to say, but it could still be several weeks before it gets assembled.
  3. When my truck was in transit mode, my dealer was "following" the journey of my truck and saw that it went from Michigan to St. Louis to Delaware and finally back to western Mo.
  4. I traded in a 2015 Colorado Z71 for my Ranger Lariat, and, in all honesty, the Colorado had a little smoother ride down the highway. Enough difference to bother me? No. They are both trucks so I expect them to ride like a truck. And, as I drive the Ranger more, I become more accustomed to the ride and don't really notice the difference. I find it has a nice and comfortable ride, so nothing to complain about. I'm not sure why a review found the interior to be small. It seems big enough from my perspective. I figure if you want a really smooth ride and a huge interior, then move up to a Lincoln Navigator and forget buying a truck.
  5. Well, I have a magnet so here's the answer: HotRunrGuy and the articles quoted by Anthony are correct - hood, front fenders and tailgate are aluminum. Roof, doors, and rear fenders are steel.
  6. I've had a 2015 Colorado Z71 for four years which I'm now trading in on a Ranger (actually pick up the Ranger today). I have 38,000 miles on it and absolutely no complaints with the Colorado. It is a great truck and the best truck I've ever had (and I've had a bunch including 2 F-150s, 4 Rangers, Silverado, and 2 Colorados). No problem at all with the transmission. It was just time to trade (I trade usually every 3 years), but I would not hesitate to buy another Colorado if the price were right.
  7. Mine was built on the 16th and is awaiting transport. Delivery date is 2/3.
  8. Turns out not to be true, you don't have to remove the wheel, just turn it hard one direction, but you do have to remove some pins to drop a flap out of the way. Those with skid plates may have to drop part of the plate to access the drain plug. These guys jumped the gun.
  9. Some have already been sold in both USA and Canada. Check this forum for pictures and much other info: https://www.ranger5g.com/
  10. It appears the $750 Preorder Cash Bonus cannot be combined with private/commercial offers such as Farm Bureau offers. Any inkling that Ford may offer up some other incentives (low financing or otherwise) before retail orders start arriving?
  11. I changed my order Tuesday from XLT CrewCab 4x4 to a Lariat CrewCab 4x4 with essentially the same equipment and price increased right at $3000. I am dealing directly with the president of the dealership, so he is pretty knowledgable. We discussed when customer production might actually start and today I got a call from him. He had done some checking and basically said the same as ice-capades about the Okay To Buy not being achieved until January. So not likely to see customer orders until late January at earliest.
  12. I don't find the Ranger to be that much more expensive than the Colorado/Canyon, especially the Canyon which is pricier than the Colorado. You're always comparing apples and oranges when comparing prices because you can never get exactly the same packages/options. I have a Z71 Colorado now and the Lariat I just ordered is pricier, but it is also better equipped and has safety features the Colorado doesn't have. At any rate, I sure hope the Ranger sticks around as I had to leave Ford to get a pickup that fit my garage comfortably. Now I'm back.
