  1. My bad. Lol. Great vehicle other than side mirror going crazy from time to time. That’s another thread.
  2. Fo check my post with pictures asking about drain plug. It is 2018 Navi. I think unless you have very early build, they changed that to metal drain plug on most 18 models.
  3. Forever to drain? Dude, you need to relax. No rush here. You open the valve to drain, start working on your oil filter, check all fluid levels, check tire pressure...all oil should be drained by then. If not, crack open a cold brew, admire the work you are doing a fine ass job...all is good. I personally do my oil change in the morning, and once valve is open to drain, I go inside and have some breakfast with my kids. Of course you want to make sure vehicle is warmed up before you drain. never I felt it drained too slow since using fumoto drain valve past few years. maybe it’s just me.
  4. Fumoto works great, in case you want to use this solution.
  5. Full synthetic, Costco Kirkland 5w-30. I do my oil change at around 5k. And use Napa gold filter. removing and installing the cover takes the longest, but everything is pretty easy.
  6. #2 option works, but you lose driving selection such as Excite or Conserve. It works, just pops up an error message in the dash.
  7. Reviving the old thread for new owners, such as myself. I don't like this, and I've been looking at many different forums on this. Below 2 options are without opening your center console (does anyone know how to open it up?) nor doing it via software modifications. 1) You can disconnect the accessory battery cable from the battery. I can confirm this works, however, I am not sure what else it turns off. But it works. 2) there is a connector you can disconnect by the brake, which turns it off. Well, I believe it is a sensor that tells A.S.S. the brake is fully engaged and it can turn off the engine. If A.S.S. doesn't know break is engaged, then it won't engage the A.S.S. This option, I have not tried yet, but will do that this week and will report back. Some like it, some don't, some dont' really care either way...its all personal preference...and I happened to fall under "don't like"...where as wife falls under "don't care either way".
  8. I can confirm that sticking it to the moonroof glass will work, for those who live in Houston area with EZ Tag. I just used painter's tape and placed it at multiple locations, including the dotted area left of the rear view mirror (didn't work), but moonroof area worked. I placed it at the front driver side corner. Nothing to worry about. If tag reader can read tags on verticle windows in semi, it should have easier time scanning off on horizontal orientation. Just checked my account, and everything scanned on the moonroof location.
  9. We were in the same boat, looking at Expy vs Navi, ended up buying one used with 17k miles on it and couldn't be happier. We got Reserve L. I think extended version looks great. Due to its size and length, it just commands the road. I think Navi has better overall finish in all area, softer ride, better seat comfort, many more to point out. Wife's primary vehicle, and she was sold on Navi after a single test drive...this was just like OP, had the deal worked out for Expedition Max Plat trim. Information on Navi is harder to find, as less vehicles on the road and not many people do their own maint. on the vehicle, but looking at some Raptor, F150, expedition forums, you can find useful information. We tends to keep the car for long time, so keeping up with regular maint is part of the formula that get longevity out of the vehicle. People have different feelings about whether to follow maint. schedule or not, but if I can do it, I do it at my own term that I am comfortable with. Oil change at 7500k with oil I choose, changing out the spark plugs at 50k, probably do the first transmission drain and fill at about 30k, then every 15K or so there after, brake fluid drain and fill, etc. Expedition is great vehicle, but I think Lincoln does thing much much better. And of course, having longer warranty on both BTB and Powertrain is bonus as well. Having so much room (not much in cargo, however) make long trips so much easier on longer road trips as well for everyone (and rear 2nd and 3rd row seats are much more comfortable than Expy due to better padding underneath).
  10. At freeway speed, I noticed that there is wind noise coming thru the door seal. It is not coming from A-pillar, but flat portion of the door (top area). I put my ear starting from the a-pillar, as I move up thru the door, it is definite from the top flat portion. Anyone else notice this? Am I just being too critical?
  11. If you go to the raptor forum, built date prior to about mid feb 2018 were built with composite oil pan with plastic drain plug. I am not sure if any of the early build Navi’s were built with plastic drain plug or not. Good luck with your oil change. Like I stated earlier, I changed out mine with fumoto drain valve to make my oils change easier and less messy. I will have my large used oil jug directly under and will not have to mess with anything after. I used fumoto on my other vehicles for over 4 years without any issues, so I expect the same. Apply but of oil on the rubber gasket prior to install, and will almost be a permanent fixture from this point forward. Picture show the model I used and ordered from amazon. let me know if you have any questions
  12. I think you are looking at the wrong screw. I put a new arrow with red dot that is the drain bolt. Takes 15mm socket to remove. I have changed it out with fumoto drain valve, which I will post later.
  13. Ok, here is the picture, taken from the passenger side. - "sound" is the rear damper by the engine and transmission. - "bolt" is what i think is the drain bolt. If it is, what is the drain plug size? - "beam" is the I think cross link beam, which lines up perfectly with the drain plug. If it is right, I think I am going to change the bolt with either fumoto drain plug or something similar for easier drain next time. Thanks in advance.
  14. New owner, and really new to Ford/Lincoln. Quick question on the oil drain plug location. Plug is located on the passenger side, correct? Is it the plug right by where you see the engine and transmission comes together (right in front of the transmission starts)? When I looked up, it looks like it drain may interfere with a beam, which looks like perfectly lines up with oil drain plug? Just doesn't look like it, and want to make sure I pull the right plug.
