  1. My brand new Ranger’s Check Engine Light came on at about 380 miles. I took it to the dealership and the service technician cleared the alert. He drove a couple of new Rangers on his lot and reported a pronounced hesitation at lower speeds. I told them I had experienced the same behavior. Ford Corporate was contacted and the tech was directed to check the fuel injectors. Low and behold, the #2 fuel injector Needs to be replaced. The service writer called to tell me there are no replacement parts available per his ordering system. Does anyone have an educated guess as to how long it will take to get the part out here to California and when I’ll be getting my truck back? Bonus point questions: How many fuel injectors does my Ranger have? If one fuel injector is bad is it indicative that the others will have problems?
  2. Still no word from the service tech. I’m guessing parts ain’t easy to come by on new Rangers.
  3. Did you custom order your truck? I did and it was built around 2/10/19. I was just wondering if there was a batch of bad parts that were used around the same time.
  4. Thank you for your reassuring insight. It’s a tad unsettling to have my brand new truck in the shop, but your perspective has calmed my nerves down considerably. I’ll wait to hear what the technician has to say next week.
  5. The dealership is still waiting for Ford Corporate to get back to them about the the check engine light fuel injector code. The technician took a couple of the new Rangers on their lot out for a spin to see how the throttle hesitation in my truck car compares to them. The technician said my truck’s throttle hesitation is much more pronounced. I wonder if moisture or bad gas is the problem and if fuel injector cleaner would be worth a try. Any thoughts?
  6. Good point, I’m glad I got the truck. The family owned dealership I bought it from worked hard to keep me informed after I ordered it until it was delivered. I got a great price from them too. The family dealership that is doing the repairs seems very courteous as well. The truck looks awesome. All in all, there have been a lot of good folks working to get me the truck I want and have it in good working order. I just wish I was on the road in it making all those non Ranger mid size truck owners jealous.
  7. I thanked the service writer for the dealership’s help in sorting through the check engine light and throttle hesitation issues. The technician is moving forward cautiously as they figure out how to fix the problem. It’s just a bummer when I’m asked about my week old truck and I have to say it’s in the shop. I want to show it off. Hopefully, the identifying of the fix and getting the parts won’t take too long.
  8. I am now worried about my brand new Ranger. The dealership technician cleared the check engine code but noticed the substantial hesitation. They are not sure how to proceed and have a call into Ford Corporate. I had the truck for 5 days and it’s in the shop with no sign of coming home soon. Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
  9. Now my check engine light came on. I wonder if it is a clogged injector. I have an appointment tomorrow morning. Kinda sad. I’ve had the truck for less than a week and it’s going into the shop.
  10. I picked up my truck 5 days ago and I am over the moon happy. I ordered a 4X2 Oxford White SuperCrew Lariat, spray in bed liner ( I really like the Ford logo on the back of the cab!) with the locking rear differential and the 501a package. I’ve been getting some thumbs up from other drivers. I’ve noticed a shudder at low speeds. It almost feels like a fuel filter or injector clog. It’s feels like the front end is shaking. I’m not sure if this is normal as I have not driven a truck or any type of rear wheel drive vehicle in decades. I knew the ride would feel different from the Japanese cars and SUVs I have owned so this may just be my hyper awareness of the truck’s nuances. I would appreciate hearing what you folks think. Thank you, Ricky
  11. Never mind, my dealer called me today and told me they have my truck. I will pick it up in the morning. ?
  12. I kindly request an update on the whereabouts of my truck. I believe it finally made it to the local train yard and is awaiting transport to the dealership, but that is just pure speculation on my part. Thank you, Ricky 1FTER4EH0KLA11339
  13. I am on the brink of getting my 2019 Ranger. It made it through steering wheel supply delays, bed liner spray in back up (everyone wants the cool Ford logo on the back of their cab that you only get from the factory), horrible weather at the plant and on the train trip and is awaiting final transport to the dealership. It’s been a long five months which resulted in connecting with dozens of really good people who shared their knowledge, insights, and thoughts about my new truck. The new Ranger has taught me so much without even sitting in my driveway. I can’t wait for the next Ranger chapter to begin. I’m doing jaw stretches in anticipation of the long lasting smile which will be stuck on my face. I seriously doubt the competition would have the same positive impact as the Ranger.
  14. Thank you, I’m on the downside of the wait now.
  15. Is there a way to track my truck now that it has left the plant? I’m in California and I imagine it’s going to take an interesting route to get here. Thank you, Ricky 1FTER4EH0KLA11339
  16. Thank you! You just made a whole bunch of Ranger fans super happy.
  17. Yikes! I apologize for not containing my excitement for my truck’s delivery. I do very much appreciate you folks and promise to abide by the rules here. Thank you, Ricky
  18. Anyone have an idea why the truck has been sitting since 2/11 and when it should start moving along in the process? I am chomping at the bit to get it. Thank you in advance, Ricky 1FTER4EH0KLA11339
  19. Still no update, I thought being part of Verified Retail Order Program (VROP) would provide progress information. I placed my order on November 12, 2018 and it was accepted into the VROP the very next day. The truck went into production on February 11, 2019. I was told two weeks ago, there was a steering wheel supply shortage which delayed the truck and would be provided a new estimated delivery date. There have been no updates since that time. I feel like a forgotten stepchild. Meanwhile, I’m seeing more dealer stock Rangers showing up at dealerships. This is truly testing my patience. 1FTER4EH0KLA11339
  20. I thank you for checking on my truck and I am sure the young salesman who helped me order my truck thanks you too. He gets nervous when I call him to ask about my truck. Even though I wish my truck was parked in my garage, it is very reassuring knowing there are people checking on it. Thank you!
  21. Still no movement, my truck is parked somewhere and there has been no progress towards moving out to California. I hope it appreciates the nice weather when it finally gets here. 1FTER4EH0KLA11339
  22. Well I am content knowing I was in contact with someone who knows someone who had a hand building my truck. I am a big F150 fan. Regrettably, I’m a city dweller and driver. The F150 is just a tad too big for my needs. That’s why I jumped on the new Ranger. It checks all the boxes perfectly and it’s a fine looking truck.
  23. I was wondering if there was a chance you worked on my truck as I did orderthe spray in bed liner and I though that happened in the body shop. Don’t ask me why I thought that, I know nothing about how any of these steps happen. Is there a chance you did work on my truck? I think that would be so cool if I had actually been in contact with someone who had a hand in building it. I know it might seem silly, but I am kinda in awe at this whole ordering a truck built exactly the way I want it and following its journey from ordering to delivery. Thank you, Ricky
