  1. After 7 month I picked up my new Mustang from a Dealer in Cologne, Germany. What a beauty! I'm very thankful for all the help and status updates I got here I'm in love with it
  2. Volvo with its Hybrid-Twin-Engine thing... definitely not a car you wanna own out of warranty. I barely drive on the autobahn once a week, but when I do, I usually go 150++ They don't want us to have fun.
  3. Volvo just announced that all cars, build from 2020, will be limited to 180 km/h (112 mph).
  4. At least in Germany there will be no max. speed limit on the Autobahn, in the next few years (according to the government). We already have a lot of sections with a limit of 120 or 100 km/h. But there will be a max. limit one day. We should enjoy the Autobahn as long as we're allowed, every other road already has a strict limit (~15-31 mph in city/town, 45-60 on highways "we usually call them Landstraße " and 60 mph to unlimited on the Autobahn). And I think it works pretty well, here.
  5. I had the new VW Arteon for a year. It has a new generation active cruise control which detects any kind of signs (like speed limits) and adjusts the speed of the cruise control automatically. For example if you set 60 mph and the car detects a 30mph sign it'll automatically slow down by itself. But you can reset the speed to 60 at any time. So you're not forced to drive like 30 miles, it just helps you to not be faster than allowed.
  6. They really come up with some absolutely stupid ideas. Some of them even wanted to limit the speed on German Autobahn to 120 km/h ~ 75 mph to reduce co2 emission. Others wanted to ban any kind of valve exhaust systems because they are "a source of unnecessary noise". But self limiting cars are ridiculous...
  7. I'm really sorry... I didn't want to be rude, in the last post. I thought you want me to repost my VIN again, not the info, totally missed that. (sure you asked for info... absolutely my fault!) I did not want to upset anyone. Again I'm sorry if I got that wrong? Anyhow, thanks for your help, so far. Really helped me a lot.
  8. Nice to hear that you will get a mustang, soon. But on the other hand it's pretty bad, that you're not getting the car you ordered. I'm really curious when things will get back to normal at the plant.
  9. Hey Andy, looks like a lot of people from the german forum also signed in here. Maybe because of the much better informations about some issues, Ford recently has or just because the guys from this forum are more kind than the "angry germans"
  10. Oh sorry! Must have missed that one, actually read the rules Excuse me for that! My VIN: 1FA6P8CF6K5145592 Really appreciate your help ;)
  11. Hey @cyberdman, can you tell me if my Mustang's already been shipped? I just looked up the schedule from K Line and there are 2 car carriers leaving Newark 02/12 and 02/22. Another one is leaving Newark on March 11th. Can you tell me the shipping date? Thank you!
  12. @fuzzymoomoo any updates to the situation at Flat Rock?
  13. Hey Vins thank you! I'm in Salzgitter just an hour away from Hannover.
  14. Shipping it with the dummy (lincoln) steering wheel and buy an aftermarket GT350 steering wheel from CJ. You just have to find your car on the parking lot and get someone to let you get away with it ?
  15. Okay I found out that my car was already built in December and left the plant on January 14th. So I guess I'm one of the lucky guys.
  16. No matter if it's related to the strike, fact is that they are missing? Problem is that ford is apparently depending on one supplier. If there's no other one, we just have to wait.
  17. Okay I hope they don't run out of storage space, pulled it up on google maps There are a few pretty large parking lots right next to the plant. I follow the news about the strike in matamoros, but it's not quite sure what's actually happening there right now. Some are working some are not. Some will apparently get 20% more, others now want that, too. Big mess. The german dealers don't know anything about that...
  18. Hi, due to the part shortage at flat rock plant, I'd like to know if my car has already been built. Blend date was February 1st. Would be nice to know if and when it's been built. VIN: 1FA6P8CF6K5145592 Thank you!
  19. I guess the plant has it's own testing facility with a small track ?
  20. I follow the news about the strike in matamoros. Doesn't look that good for us. Work's still not continuing in a lot of factories down there. Maybe Ford is already a step further in autonomous driving, doesn't need a steering wheel for that ?
  21. Hi Rainer, I'm working at a VW plant, I thought Volkswagen can't be the only one, who's absolutely depending on a single supplier. We're building engines at our plant ( 3 to 16 cylinder), often have the same problems. Parts like injection valves, turbochargers are bought from external suppliers, if they have a problem our lines stand still.
  22. I think he's talking about the production. A few posts before "It's not going to last long", he said: Yes, they are back to work; and this is not going to last long. Sure they're working, but I think, still with those dummy steering wheels. I don' know much about the processes at ford, but I work for a German carmaker. If there's an issue like this, the cars will be "fixed" according to the actual production order.
  23. Right I ordered on October 1st, estimated delivery time was 7-8 month (last week in april). Blend date is Feb. 1st, last working shift was on 01/18, if they got back to work this Monday (still not installing the actual steering wheels) it will take 4 weeks longer, minimum.
  24. Ok well, blend date of my car was 1st Feb. should arrive at my local dealer at the end of April (according to the dealer). Guess I have to wait a few more weeks.
